When I started using an Air brush, in 1966 ( I was 15), we didn't know much tools beyond the basic Pinnache tool. Sorry about the spelling, it has been well over 50 years. It worked well enough, as I can still remember the scroll and flow application. In 1969 I attended the New Your Institute of Photography. Their I used a Thayer and Chandler Airbrush given to me by an associate of Anvil Addams. I admit that I have not picked up an airbrush since well before 1981 I love the fact that the art is still alive today

Nice to see Createx get some love. I absolutely love love love the Createx line. My favorite line is the Bloodline. It's for recreating dead skin, zombified flesh, etc.

I tried a bunch of different compressor. Didn't have any luck with them. Switched to a c02 tank. Works beautifully. Something I've wanted to try is using air with a scuba tank. Way cheaper than c02 but it's a bit hard getting them filled if you don't have a scuba cert, but why not get one. Scuba diving is pretty cool.

Love the channel, absolutely fantastic quality and instruction. Thank you for sharing with us. I was wondering if you would be interested in making a WWII Aircraft Painting? Would be really cool to see you create a detailed pilot’s face (with helmet / flight gear) or an aircraft. I’m still a novice with airbrushing and I primarily detail / paint scale model aircraft / vehicles. I really want to learn how to airbrush on canvases after watching your content. Your channel is very motivating. Thanks again, your channel is one of my favorites.

When I purchased the airbrush I choose the one with the bigger capacity to carry the color "Pilot Stainless Steel Air Brush Guns AB - 15".. but now to tell you I regret it as its heavy.. after sometime of use my hand pains... so I personally think its better to choose a light weight airbrush.

Yes, an airbrushes weight can definitely make a difference to comfort when airbrushing for extended periods of time, I always urge people to hold the airbrush before they purchase, if that is possible to make sure that it is comfortable for them and as you mentioned using larger colour bottles can also make a huge difference. Do you have an opinion on tankless compressors? A friend bought me a kit on Amazon and everything seems fine Except maybe the compressor. Haven't gotten to try it yet

Do all paints need thinned? I use createx and wicked.. I have some illustrations..but not many.. but I find getting real tiny splatter on my work. I do mostly lures but have done some canvas. I see you take the tip off your hp cs.. does that help flow? And I don't put the cap on my cup.. does it flow better with the cap on the paint cup?

Createx paints need thinning if you use them in anything smaller than a .5mm airbrush. Around 20%-25%. Needle cap can get paint buildup. Removing irt can lead to less splatter. Cover is on the cup to prevent spillage. I don't typically go more than halfway full but it can prevent a messy situation. I've seen people use water for Createx but it can sometimes be weird. Createx are acrylic but they are waterborne, not water based. In layman's terms they have both an acrylic and solvent binder. I use the 2011 Reducer. A 16oz bottle of 2011 is like $13 at Hobby Lobby and will reduce approximately 80ozs of paint at 20%. So it's cheap and of course formulated to work with Createx paints. 2030 is good for durability. It's a resin binder. Add it 5% to ANY Createx line, reduce once added and paint.

Can the smaller unit be used in pass through while its plugged in? Meaning it's plugged in to charge....but can still be used while charging?

From memory you can plug them in and use them however the lead is very short so you would need to tweak the setup so that it would have a bit more power lead length so that it is viable. That said, you may be best to get another unit so you have two batteries as the freedom of not being attached to anything is what makes it great.

what about Hose? for automotive work I like using Flexzilla, they are extremely flexible and don't kink or memory coil. do they make a hose of that type for Air Brushing?

I haven't used Flexilla, but it sounds great the hose I prefer is the Iwata DT-110 straight shot hose, it still gets tangled from time to time but it's not as bad as other hoses.
