Packing up the camper to leave a site can be stressful! After FOUR YEARS of full-time RVing in our Grand Design Imagine 2600RB, we STILL forget stuff. This week we're walking you through our breakdown process and sharing with you the tips and tricks we've learned over the years to (hopefully) make the packing up process a smooth one 😎
Disclaimer: no spouses were hurt in the making of this video. And we forgot our hose splitter at the site. No one's perfect 😆

Easy way to relive the pressure in your hose, turn your fresh water valve from city to fresh tank fill, lets the pressure off, and only dribbles a little in the tank I like to always have a little in there anyway

We use the magnetic sewer hose/bumper caps after loosing a sewer hose on the highway. Before upgrading bumper caps, we drilled bumper near the end and put in hitch pins to contain sewer hose in the bumper.

Good reminders before the camping season starts up here in the north (MN). We do similar steps. Here are a few additional items. Pack snacks/lunch/ and drinks to eat better on the trip. Pull out the truck tow mirrors, Turn on the toll haul Say a prayer for a good and safe trip. We have our camper on a seasonal site and we also travel 😁. Best of both worlds especially when you are still working full time. We have a checklist on my phone notepad so they can be checked off. It takes us longer to breakdown camp because we have a toy hauler with an electric golf cart, stuff to put away at the seasonal site etc.

Yes! I can't believe we didn't even talk about snacks or drinks....Mike can't go without his coffee and I can't go without snacks 😆 that's so cool you get the best of both worlds, it'd be nice to have a more permanent spot sometimes!

We only use our X-Chocks for extra stabilization and use good rubber chocks in front of and behind the wheels on both sides to keep the camper from moving and we do not remove those until after the camper is fully hooked up to the tow vehicle. The plastic chocks, while inexpensive, do break easily. Our rubber chocks bounced back after our 22RBE was hit from behind while in storage and the tires rolled over them (the impact moved our camper forward about 3 feet). We had the X-chocks on as well for extra insurance during a hurricane a few months before (even though it is in covered storage). Those broke with the impact, but luckily did not puncture the tires (we don't use them in storage anymore). The X-Chocks do help a lot with stopping the wobble when someone is walking around in the camper.

Like Scott Schultz said, but turn the park faucet off, but then go release the pressure at your GD quick connect hose. Then disconnect the GD hose and city water hose with no pressure in the all lines.

You can also relieve the pressure by flushing your toilet after turning off the city water before you disconnect the hose from the city connection. And it make sure your not traveling with water splashing around in the toilet on bumpy roads. Safe travels.

Get a Valterra valve. It will help with keeping you from having anything drip out before connecting or after disconnecting the stinky slinky. Also, after my husband turns off the propane tanks, I go and "bleed" the line by turning on the stove burners until there is no more flame (just remember to turn the knobs off after). Gives us a little extra piece of mind (we do not travel with our propane tanks on).
