I just purchased the Squire Active 5 black

the tone monster preamp i have in my contemporary jazz bass is the SBK 3D and it sounds much better along with my nordstrand big singles 5 pickups.

I have that 5 string Squier. Yours sounds way better

Johnny, it's been my experience with Tone Monster that their Customer Service is very Meh. Keep those preamps in their prospective basses forever cause if the slightest mishap happens Good Luck!

It looks like the Squier Contemporary Jazz 5 HH, but mine doesn't have a switch, but the Volume, P/U blend, Tone and Bass Treble Stack. Unless you modded it.

Did you bypass the mid knob on this one? And is this the seb or sbk series?

I got the same squire HH v bass too, I think the tone monster has not big difference compare to the original preamp, maybe try bartolini or agular preamp.

Johnny Long... did you mod that Squier Contemporary Jazz V HH? I don't see where it comes with a switch... it has a stack pot for tone and mid.

What model tone monster preamp is that i have the same bass but doesnt really give a good tone with the factory preamp

That is the contemporary Squire 5 string but mines don't have a switch and it don't need one.,unless that's another model

Hi jonny, can you help me know how to install Tone Monster Sb 3ad With pick-up Seymour Ducan ASB5S Active. I Don’t know how to do this installation, because the pick-up is active and the preamp too. I nave question about how to power pickup and the preamp together.
