The new GR86 coupe is the third global Toyota GR model, developed with technical expertise from TOYOTA GAZOO Racing, designed for pure driving pleasure, an evolution of the GT86 coupe, retaining a classic front engine/rear-wheel drive drivetrain.
The 2.0 litre naturally aspirated “boxer” engine of the GT86 is now bored out to 2.4-litre for extra power, more torque and faster acceleration, 234 DIN hp/172 kW at 7,000 rpm, 250 Nm at 3,700 rpm and 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds.
The naturally aspirated engine gives a smooth acceleration feel from the bottom to the top of the rev band.
