This intersection was recently built as part of the Quail Crossing Blvd Extension Project. The original intersection, which was built in the mid 90s had a stop sign for Quail Crossing Blvd and no traffic lights, traffic on old Nogales Highway did not have to stop. The new intersection was built in 2022 and was put into service a few months ago after upgrades were done to the railroad crossing equipment, as the intersection and crossing are required to be interconnected due to their close proximity (Less than 200 feet). The intersection has leading left-turn intervals for all phases, and flashing yellow arrows for the opposing direction, as well as leaving the left turn signal red on the side the walk signal is activated on. This intersection has Campbell Guardian Accessible Pedestrian Signals, which do not have the wave feature unfortunately. The signals themselves are McCain 12 inch signal heads with GE incandescent look LED modules, including the left turn arrows, and McCain 16 inch pedestrian signal heads with GE VLA incandescent look LED countdown inserts. The railroad crossing is a modern Union Pacific Railroad crossing replacement, with Siemens gate mechanisms and light heads, two NEG Electronic Crossing Bells and GE low voltage dotted LED modules, which I mistakenly said were WCH LEDs in the video, and an aluminum cabinet/bungalow. The words "Traffic Interconnect" on the sign on the side of the cabinet indicates that the crossing is connected to the intersection's traffic cabinet.
