I started at CR England and quit within 3 months when I was there didn't learn that much I have a family and I hardly when home when I was doing OTR with them.i quit and now I'm a year in with jb hunt intermodal local home everyday but like you said it does get boring real quick lol but I rather just stay local then OTR because of my family u know.

Congrats bro, make sure you keep your Lysol cleaning stuff in a cool area, when they are up in the top cabinet it gets hot up there and that could cause the disinfectant chemicals to become inactive and they may not disinfect that much

For y’all new drivers out there(company drivers) , do at least 6-8 months OTR for all the experiences on DOT laws, Driving in different terrains/weathers, etc…. Then switch to Dedicated/Local to get that full year or 2 years. After that you’ll really start making good money !

I went to a school here in vegas in 2018 all the instructors quit and went to better paying trucking jobs. so 2021 i decided fuck it so i got my CDLA permit on my own just taking pre quizes on apps on my phone and also skimming the handbook. I just had my first day at my new company they haul dirt/asphalt and have 6 local pits. Started me in a peterbilt water truck and on october 18th i take my driver test if i pass than they've already assigned me a 2019 KW T880. Im super thankful for everything and being consistent with the owner asking when they can hire me and how we can work things out etc.. Im very blessed.

I feel you man. The Pay at Swift just isn't there compared to the amount of work that you put in.

The community college I'm going to go to have recruiters from multiple companies that you get to choose from when you graduate. Werner, Snyder, Heartland Express and a few others. I'm paying my tuition $4,600 all upfront too so I don't owe a thing right away.

2nd bunk is great for non slip storage bins, extra footwear, spare food, extra clothes blankets, etc, cooking stuff, portable grill

That is amazing that you left swift and found an amazing new carrier I know that I wish I would get back into trucking but feels like it’s safer to stay with dealership as a lot manager and work in retail

California state is paying for my school at TGA Trucking school in Motebello CA. It’s great school and they work with you one on one. Also they don’t push you to hurry up and get ur CDL they really help you.

Schneider paid for my schooling 3 years ago in Phoenix. It was a private CDL school. I owned them 3100$ after that

One I went to in Lewiston paid for the hotel but started me in one then moved me to another one, I was the only one in my class by the 2nd week started with 3 others lol got my CDL and bounced before I was ever mentored - Went with a different company doing heavy haul flatbed. I have a friend that drives for Swift I’ve known him for a long time from my past job he was a customer but he was the class before me so when I was going in he was doing his last week at the academy but he loves it, he’s an older guy and enjoys it! My tuition was $6,700 but my company is paying it off for me, would’ve loved doing flatbed for Swift and I even asked about it but was brushed off - Goal is heavy haul specialized so it was my plan all along eventually but Swift didn’t entertain it so I went elsewhere, glad you moved on I feel like you’re gonna miss the newer trucks that Swift has.

Swift sounds good! I went to a jr college to get my CDL and u don’t get no drive time! There’s so many ppl in the class u take turns with a group of like 5 ppl that’s not good drive time!

You you can advise people on looking into their local unemployment agency when I was living in Wisconsin it was called the job center and they (depending on the state you live in) usually have a program that will help people who are unemployed or underemployed get get into a new career and one of those careers is truck driving so if you do it right by looking into these programs you can actually go through truck driving school and not even pay for it and end up with your CDL at the end I know this because that's what I did I went through school and wisconsin paid for it and I've never looked back since.i even had a job lined up for when I finished school. I'm making more money now that I've ever made before I'm happier now than ever with my job so I suggest people can do that to look into it it makes a little easier a little less expensive. merry Christmas bro. drive safe out there have a good one

What’s up buddy really good videos I like them do more videos everyday I’m a truck driver to i work for Mesilla Valley Transportation i live in El Paso tx

So one of the reasons the price of schools are going up is because the FMCSA is changing how schooling works. They are changing how many hours you have to learn something, i.e. so many hours of in classroom, skills and behind the wheel on the road. There are a lot of schools that just teach you how to pass the CDL DMV test, those schools will be going away. I don't think we will see anymore 2k schools. So if you can get into a school before February 2022 do so, it all changes after that. Chez you got very lucky finding the company you're with now (good job). I still like the company I got on with. So for the people that are looking to get into the business, get your CDL anyway you can. If a company pays and you end up with a bill pay it off just like Chez did. My CDL is my Gold Card. As a rookie I make over 80k a year as a company man. Head up and one foot in front of the other.

If possible just get a CDL at any local trucking school. I paid 3k but I didn't owe anyone anything and I pretty much made all that back in about a month at my first job. Some companies will even pay off your school just for signing with them

And you can make payments at Toro truck driving school $200 every two weeks and you can stay after school until you complete the course or graduate no matter how long it takes

People looking to get their license also keep in mind some companies will pay tuition reimbursement. I went to school and my company pays me weekly for what ever I paid out of pocket for schooling.

Swift is a stepping stone company. And you made a great step. Also, I went to Prime CDL school, $4900, they're robbing people out here. Local collage is only $1200, but they suspended the classes because of COVID so had to go to Prime.

Dang, the swift academy changed a lot from when I went in 2014. They paid for my hotel and the school was only like 3k

Always stride to be a o/o, the longer you drive someone else's truck the more money you're making them. Your end goal should be to drive for landstar. Make your own hours and go home when you want for how ever long you want. Thats just my advice but if you're ok with where you are then more power to you I just want to see people succeed.
