Everything is overdriven, and when you guys manage to find a half way clean tone, you hit it with overdrive ! I want to hear the Tele / Strat CLEAN tones. God knows, the new Fender pedal seems to have dropped the ball in that court !
and now I'm just waiting for the time when digital modeling of digital modeling will become the next big thing on the totally overblown gear market 😂. cheers 🎸🎸
That's already happening! 😆 Universal Audio models those old digital reverb racks (Lexicons, etc) in their plugins and in the UAFX pedals. And you know what, I really dig it, haha! Inceptiooooon! //Kris
Got one yesterday at first it was ok But soon you dive in oh boy this awesome It brings everything to a tube level grade Brings the sound to a new level No matter what you plug into even a shity cheap distortion pedal makes it sound like a million bucks
Can somebody explain to me how the editor works when direct recording into a DAW like logic? Can I have the opus editor open while inside logic recording, to have full tweak ability at all times while recording?
It's tricky to compare them because of their different features. This one does MIDI, the OX is stereo. This one is much more tweakable and gives you more cab options, the OX has a tweakable room mic and FXs. This has a full amp simulation, the OX Stomp has regular footswitches so you can actually use it without midi. So many big differences, I really can't think of a fair way of comparing the two. How would you do it? With which other gear / pedals? Cheers //Kris
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses Hey thanks for the reply. im mostly interested in comparing them on their cab sim part. i want to use an analog pedal as pre-amp and then do the cab sim with digital solution.
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses i used the opus and Ruby as two amps stereo in a live situation. It was nice! The sound engineer could here for sure i was using two amps and liked it! 😁. The ruby sounded thicker/louder so i needed to shape the sound of the opus a little bit more, but i addressed that at home already. Two very good platforms!
Clear strength of the Opus is that it's a massive collection of cabs and mics. Many brands and artists work with them and capture their favorite cabs and speakers. With the Opus you can get all of that right on your pedalboard and even leave your amp at home thanks to the preamp and power amp simulation. It's a pretty impressive collection of features and ways of using it. That's my two cents. Cheers //Kris
Most probably not, it's made to replace an amp, not to be used in front of one. If you want a preamp, there are more fitting pedals for that job. Cheers //Kris
You can switch off single functions of it (at least if it functions anything like the Cab M+), so you could switch off everything except for the Preamp and use it as a preamp pedal. But it would be a really bad one, without midi you couldn’t even switch it off/ on. Also it would be quite expensive for doing the job badly
