Scott Johnson is truly a legendary and highly underrated artist. In the mid-noughties and early 10s, literally every Marvel merchandise was painted with his work, be it pencil cases or backpacks. About the covers of magazines, coloring books, puzzles and comics, I am completely silent. I can safely say that it was thanks to Scott's work that I truly and sincerely fell in love with superheroics and Marvel in particular: I forever fell in love with his classic and iconic hero costume designs, especially art with Spidey, Wolverine, Iron Man, Cap, Hulk, etc. Sincere thanks for the work, Scott Johnson, your work will always remain in the hearts of the children of 2000s, and regardless of age.
This man's art single handedly defined Marvel's marketing in the 2000s. Every Marvel brand T shirt, backpack, poster, etc., of Marvel 616 was Scott's art. I miss those days. As much as I enjoy the MCU, I'm tired of all the products either being based off of them or inspired by it. Nothing matches the love for Marvel that his art gave me back then.
Let's face it, Scott Johnson's spider man is one of the most iconic because of the merchandise (and it's probably the childhood of many of us, especially if you were born between the period of 2000 to 2005). and thanks to this design, many of us wanted to draw spidey in this way and make our own comics and stories, thanks to this MOD those ideas that we imagined about how spidey would swing around the city and we captured it with our toys or our spidey drawings.... well they come true
Yup I grew up with it and I was born in 2002 and I started seeing it on coloring books, reading books and other stuff back in 2007 and I had tons of Spider-man coloring of Scott Johnson spider-man and in my 3rd grade year a friend of my gave a jumbo size Spider-man coloring book and my 2nd grade year my female friend gave me a pocket notepad style coloring book and I used to have a Valentines Day Mail box of Scott Johnson spider-man. Those products are made by Bendon Publishing International inc.
For me, this is the definitive look for Spider-Man. Whenever his name is mentioned this is the design I think of. Its as classic and faithful as you can get. There are no changes whatsoever to the suit. No added stuff, no takeaway. Just a pure classic Spider-Man
This is the spidey design I grew up on I remember seeing it on toy boxes, food packaging, candy, books and even at universal studios it was everywhere I miss it ngl
@@primalvelocity3811 Sharp eyes and a bulkier physique. Sounds similar enough to me. Differing things are it being more colorful and not having the raised webbing.
This look for Spider-Man has always been my favorite look for the character in my childhood, I had a lunch box where you move it the picture of the classic suit turns into the black suit
It would have been awesome if there was an animated series based off of Scott Johnson’s Spider-Man but the animation would be the same as the new animated series from 2003
I remember seeing scott's art everywhere in spider-man merchandise, he's one of my favorite spider-man artists. I've waited for so long to see this as a mod for spider-man pc!
@@elmayonesobenitosojuasjuas7850 scott drew spidey's lenses in many ways shapes and forms, there is an art piece of spidey drawn by scott that features a more classical take on spidey's lenses, i remember having it on my wall when i was a kid!

This and tobey were not only the spider-men of my childhood but I also always felt embodied the Spider-man who’s been on the job a while aesthetic. I’d imagine a 30 year old more adult and wiser Peter saving people in these suits
0:16-0:42 I have happy tears This suit is the one that represented my childhood, I know that sounds weird but it’s just nostalgia for me. Aside from Tobey Maguire’s suit, for me, Scott Johnson’s Spider-Man is the definitive comic book Spider-Man suit
