@Volt64Bolt What “other games” let you dual wield two unrelated items for different modes of combat? A random combat game that happened to let you use a specific pair of swords is as much “dual wielding” as Fortnite’s dual pickaxes. The dual wielding being duchesse here is something that Minecraft truly coined, as defined above.
Khelthrai Hellbane it may be extremely acidic or basic, meaning that it would corrode/dissolve the bots. The chemicals seem very strong - you start taking damage immediately after jumping into it.
7:24 "Oil has kind of like a similar object in your inventory as like the chemicals do, so I really feel like we should be able to vacuum up the oil as well." Flawless logic right there. By the way, both "cactuses" and "cacti" are both correct plurals of cactus.
Maybe so that it would look organized better than what it is now. I mean, looking at Scrapman's car with chests on it is very confusing considering they all look the same.
I think they did a test update to see what the reactions of the people are so if they need to change something they can do that for the release of the update
Scrap man, they possibly could make it so that chems can't go in normal chests... or they could make cannons that damage bots filled with chems. An Idea I think is interesting is if you could hook fertilizer up to cannons. Auto fertilization!
I have an idea for a tree logger! This is how it goes... 1) Build a functional and wide vehicle that has some space from the front to the middle(make sure it runs on one or two electric engines to handle the weight). 2) Add a contraption that can ascend and descend with the help of wheels and the railings(make sure that you have a saw on it). 3) Add some stuff that will keep the tree in place at the center and also disconnect it. 4) Add some railings that, extend from the the tree stabilizer and aligns with the tree-grinder, and continues to extend as high as you can. 5) Add some stabilizers(add even MORE cacti stabilizers than the amount that you have for the current logger). 6) Add a refiner, a few medium chests, and a couple of containers. Now why would this be more effective? 1) You will be grinding the tree at the middle and so its weight is distributed evenly(unlike the current logger) 2) With the tree-grinder (make sure you grind the tree from the top-bottom), you can adjust it till it works. 3) You will be refining as you go.
With the /unlimited tag after editing the game files, the chemical container was there for a while and worked the same way. There is also a Seed Container and a Fertilizer container. With custom models and everything.
hmmmm... perhaps the logger could be an actual logger? only needs 2 sawblades, 1 resource collector, and a refiner leading to some chests. same as what you have now but it makes it so it cuts the tree off and onto your vehicle, and uses wheels with pistons pushing the log onto 2nd sawblade. i think this would work pretty well, would fit all the trees, and will be very resource efficient. hope you consider my suggestion.
Does he know you can harvest crops and pick up items by pressing E, if he did that he would not have to worry about breaking parts of his base when harvesting
Well, rn the chemical container is "useful" if you don't have enough resources for a chest, it is cheaper. But I really hope they have bigger plans for it. Battery container, for example, will be used to power up encryptors.
You should add two functional saws on the two front corners so that if a tree is in the way, you can just chop it down(this could be useful in really dense forests). I have a contraption in mind that might potentially trap the boss while also letting you transport it. I think that when a bot is ragdolled and is too far from where it was ragdolled, it will teleport back to the same position(like what we saw in the video). So, if we activate the bouncy floor for 10 seconds, then turn it off for a few seconds(enough for it to un-ragdoll), and keep that cycle repeating, we might be able to transport a boss.
i dont remember but i think chemicals are flammable and if they are it would be an amazing idea for a flamethrower but i dont think they would match the game.
@@wqfled chemicals would be to easy to farm and use as what would seem to be and OP weapon, if they do add that weapon tot he game, they would have to nerf chemical farming in some way.
I just got a main assembly ad Edit: 2 actually *Main assembly wants to kill SMS?* NOOOO0 Edit: sorry but thanks for 17 likes! Edit: this is obnoxious but how did we get so many likes?
About the logger, just detach it and put it on a bearing so it rests on the top of your vehicle, lowering the center of mass, but also allowing the vertical grabbing of the tree.
For a logging machine, I was thinking of putting 6 saw blades under the vehicle and 2 on pistons in the front and then pistons on the wheels and just drive over the downed logs.
Possibly as the water container can contain sucked up water, then the chemical container will contain the possibly sucked up pink water that sits near the green pillars.
For the wood harvester: I think you should take inspiration from actual real life tree cutters. I designed one myself but I haven't built it in survival yet, thoug it looks promissing. If you're interested I could show you a template or upload it on the workshop for you to check it out. If you are interested, just answer my comment and I will tell you what its name is on the workshop. You could also make a version of moonbo's harvester with the welding technique were the whole truck that holds all the logs also pushes them into a wall of sawblades. It would be like an all-in-one version of moonbo's system.
In real life rockets can be powered by volatile, corrosive chemicals. I kind of hope that this means they're considering having thrusters be powered by chemicals, or maybe a mixture of water and chemicals. That would significantly alleviate fuel concerns, and maybe they'd even be so kind as to make the thrusters more fuel efficient as well.
Fun fact I learned from the scrap mechanic reddit: you can weld trees. So my logging vehicle is about as big as the one in the video but consists of a ramp/sawblade stick to cut down the stump and a big hollow net tower with a hole in the side and 2 sawblade rolls. When I cut down a tree, I place some wood, get the tree with the welding tool, place it on the wood, delete the wood and go into my seat to turn the saws on. The only problems I have is: the tower is too small for the really big trees, so I added a mechanism that makes the tower higher. The other problem I have is that my collector doesn't reach all the way through the tower but I intend to make another sawblade roll to direct the tree to the collector. The design has only one collector but also a refinery and chest. I have experienced some fuel shortage, but that's probably because I didn't upgrade my engines for lower fuel consumption.
I have a glitch i call it get loser when i die in the ware house getting back in launches me 100 block up and die and my stuff dissaperres into the void
Maybe the chemical container will be used for a chemical cannon that you could get killing the red boss bots, and the cannon could be used to maybe damage bots and the not too much of available amount wouldnt make it too op
With the mesh blocks that have very low friction can you make a ski course and then ski down it. (For multiplayer monday). Also try building a ski mechanism to use in surival for going down hills
I love your channel and stay up to 4 in the morning just so I can watch the newest video. Also Scrapman, please post your videos like 1 hour or half an hour earlier because i get really tired at 4:00 AM and sometimes fall asleep while watching. Please see this!
I'm thinking they will use the chemical container for a new cannon like u said and it would be cool if u kill the boss bot for a chance for it to drop his chemical cannon
1 saw logging machine, U shape front where you drive around the tree, caged that closes around the tree and 2 pistons that lower and push 1 blade underneath the car into the middle of the cage. 1 collector and refniery on 1 side with an off center U-shape, no springs on the wheels. Pushing down the blade to the ground before pushing it into the tree will also make you more stable while grinding. using some bearing driven latches to close the cage and 1 sawblade it takes me under 1 minute to chew up the big type of tree
If they will add an ability to vacuum oil ( which could be done by adding springs of oil like chemical ponds), they need some sort of oil refinery bot that would make it harder to get fuel from it(it could be a 1:10 ratio or smth). They could then add asphalt that could be received from the same bot, and lots of other things. This way it would be as hard to get those things, but more fun.
So glad this is a update came, I really didn’t want to play the game because of the amount of time that it would take to get the oil, hopefully this will help that issue!
ScrapMan, I think the chemical container might be a battery that consumes chemicals. Just my thought because when you were filling the container, the display slowly filled up, and it seemed to turn on.
Being able to craft batteries could add to the gameplay though, for players that don't want to use piston or controller engines, (or if they get nerfed) for large vehicles, perhaps as an alternative to pumping oil, which may be harder to implement because oil is already under water so it doesn't exist in the world the same way as chemical and water. This would give a bit more of a reason to use the electric engine over the gas engine, because to get a lot of batteries to last a long time you just need to make a chemical run every so often and farm up a bunch of haybots
fun fact: Using a vacuum pump, you can shoot chemical out of chests. In fact, it works in the same way as water does! Though I think that does not have a purpose yet
FYI, I used the six of the Leather Mannequin Boots as stop blocks. Works pretty well. Main thing is to put the pistons in the rear 1 block taller to force the rear tires off the ground. The Friction is 7 on those. Everything else maxes out at 6.
They need something to scrap stuff with. It would be nice if you got resources back for certain things like chests, logic units, pistons, tires... but not wood, metal, concrete, glue, paint, or seeds. It would be nice to be able to make fertilizer with other seeds. They are adding a bunch of new bots in 2023, better lighting, fire, better glass effects and colored glass, missions... They are adding new outfits, planting pods that can be put on vehicles and bases (but need batteries), and ne crafting pieces. I am hoping the add a glow bug tank so you can have them on vehicles too. Vehicles still slide, but they need to fix that. You tree harvesting and mining vehicles are WAY too complicated. Just a bar in front that can angle say 15 degrees up and down. You can have say 3 drills or 2 saw blades (or 5 and 3). Just leave the bearings and have an electric motor upgraded to handle them all and crank it up. I am thinking of putting a water chest and spray on top of my vehicle and have it slowly oscillating up and down while it is spinning to put out fires. I am doing a Nomad run and for the vehicle to handle well I have six chest and the craft bot tipped on its side in the bottom of the vehicle with 6 wheels. The refinery connects to that but stands upright and is in front next to the driver seat. I have to collectors under the driver seat. I put the gas can, ammo can, and battery cannister in the bottom too. I covered what I could with a floor. I have windows and wood walls, but the top is cardboard. This keeps the center of gravity very low so it does not tip over. I have drills on the tires and up front and saw blades in the back and between the wheels. I have an automatic door on each side and the chef bot and dress bot in the back. I put a toilet (with paper) a sink, and a table with the prepared food and a coffee mug on it. I just need a regular chair. I tried to do a gun turret but was not happy. Maybe I will just put 2 spud guns out the front on a repeater to kill farm bots. I do not know what I will do to stop the new bots though. There is a jumping bot and a bomb bot and those will be hard to deal with. There might also be a flame bot but they have not shown it. There is a paint bot and a swimming bot. There is also a new boss bot for warehouses and I am not sure if they are still doing the trash bot as another boss for the roof of the warehouses. The only other thing I wish is that the special clothing boosted things maybe 5% so a full set could boost something 30%. They could be things like speed, hammer damage, less hunger and thirst, reduced damage... Mix and match them as you want. This would not be overkill, but it would be a nice boost and give more purpose for the clothing other than cosmetics.
I think an idea for a logging video would be one where it cuts the tree, picks it up, and puts it into a truck-bed style space on the back of the vehicle that feeds it into a few saws.
For bigger friction use more tires on your bigger trucks, or build cactus around your tire (on both sides for more friction), or make tire from shoes, they have most friction i think. shoe big tire is great for fast exploration transport.
Tree Cutting Vehicle Idea: Make a vehicle that has a big crease in the middle and under it has sawblades that grind up trees that you drop into it. The way to drop trees into it would be grabbing it, rotating it backwards and then into a ramp-like feature slowly sliding the tree into the crevasse of blades. I actually built something like this idea and it worked perfectly.
i experimented with cactus stablizers as well and had poor reslts. My solution is to pick up something i have mined and place it like a post next to my vehicle to stop it moving in that direction. Now stable.
I hope Scrap Mechanic Survival adds brewing potions so you can brew a night vision potion where it makes you see more clearer in the dark, that would be very usefull
You can drop containers that you carry on your shoulder with right clicking and then put the other containers on it and then you can put all that on your lift so you can run with all the containers in one trip
Because the chemical container didn't have an attacthment point for connect tool kind of tells me that it isnt fully developed yet, and is still being worked on. So chest chemicals isnt disabled yet.
I think that the chemical container would be used for a chemical cannon that you could get from the large farmbots. You could strap it on your vehicle and shoot it at bots to make them into corrupted bots or something.
I found out that best logging truck is actually tiny Have a containter, attach saw on front, add 4x6 platform to back, seat on platform, two engines behind seat (acts as counterweight too) and 4 wheels steering WITHOUT suspension Saw is actually touching the ground (it doesn't collide physically, just visually) and it cut to root of tree, then when it fall, go along tree cutting it into small pieces It is small, agile = use small amount of fuel (saw can be turned by controller on max speed too, but saw engine doesn't use that much fuel) Tip: Engine at full power with saws is bad idea, it is better to jam saw a bit than having a truck that jumps around cause saw is too OP
Make a refinery station where you can park/weld your vehicle to a central point in the room and all the resource collector around the vehicle are near refineries and they don't need to come off the vehicle, and when you're ready to go again you just drive out...
Chemical container is so you can pump up chemical from those little chemical waters, plus it has no connection point because chemical is not used to power anything. and then you can connect the container to a normal chest with tube system and connect it to a scrapbot
I found out you can shoot chemicals now from chem container and the chests using a pump. I suspect the chem container will be used to suck up oil later on.
I also think that every resource should be possible to refine in the craft bot, but there should be a refinery bot for every resource that would be about 5 times faster. And those should be able to craft every block that requires that one material
Did you try putting the pump and chem storage underwater over an oil geyser? Cause a chest would vacuum water, but if the chem storage holds oil, maybe its a way for sucking oil up? Ignore that I just tried it and it doesn't hold oil.
The pure purpose of a water container is to collect water with pumps and transport it to cannons. I feel like it's obvious that the chemical container is used to harvest chemicals from those pools of them. Really surprised you didn't figure it out
Did some search in the scripts, highest friction item that are around have a value of 7, one of them is 'obj_fittings_powerstation', that would be the cables that go alongside those towers on top of a warehouse (ones u can take with you), there are a bunch that are just in-warehouse parts, no good, and it seems some sort of 'concrete_slab' also has friction 7. My woodcutter machine is kinda the same as yours (but with a refinery on it), i just have pistons that pull up the wheels entirely, so it just sits on his full base of the car, that nearly makes it unslidable. Update: found that the 2 big ramps (narrow and big one) most use on farms also got 7, plus the 'small slope' one (1x2 block, 6 wide? the ones on the top of the warehouse final bit of the big ramp) also, specialy that last one can be useful under your car.
Just as the water tank can connect and transfer water to water cannons useing the wiring tool, I assume some content is going to come that will be using this with the chemical container. So some new object will be added to connect to this chemical container. Try connecting it to different stuff with the wiring tool. It is also possible, that just as the water container stores water, something will be added that will mine oil or fuel and the "mining object" will connect to this chemical container and transfer the items remotely if it's on the same creation, just like the current wiring system is working.
Sorry, another youtuber never showed the whole wiring tool segment that you showed. It might be possible that they just didn't implement the wiring/connection point thing yet. Because you know how scrapmechanic players are at this moment, they question everything like crazy. So everyone would try everything for the next month until the update comes out.
Later in the future: AXOL GAMES MADE A CHEMICAL GUN Some users: lets make a false red boss bot Boss bots: you look weird The false bot: *fires chemicals* Also boss bots: ILL TAKE YOUR ENTIRE *STOCK*
Actually there are chemical cannons, seed containers and seed cannons. And also some new types of food. And a new block. But you can get them only with commands.
the less grindy oil/glue works for now and all, but imo it's not a good long term solution. what i hope for is a full underwater update, with a scuba seat, an underwater propeller and a way to harvest oil/clams with a vehicle. that way you have to work to make things less grindy.
