The kitchen angles are very dimensional. Blended with the lounge area, doesn’t seem like you’re in a van. Really great build, bravo man. You’re one of those cats that never runs out of ideas
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this build. I actually applauded in my living room. Good job! I just messaged him. I'm handicapped so I can't climb into the beds in a usual van config and my loves are cooking and travel. Perfect build for me. 😃🥰
I have watched a lot of van builds but this is by far my best design. I have always loved murphy beds as opposed to sofa conversions or the permanent ones that usually seem a bit too high to climb into and tight. The kitchen here feels like heaven. So much space for work and move around. In fact, this is a studio apartment on wheels. Thank you so much for sharing. Love this ❤
I love the murphy bed, it keeps people from sitting where your head lays. Also the bed at the front would make me feel safer, with the cab right there. Plus the fact you don't have to worry about rain coming in the the back onto your bed. The Shower is a great idea for placement This is one of those ideas I have had.
I can see that the water system is in the cabinet corner dead space on the driver's side, but does anyone know where he has the electrical since the other corner is open storage?
The couch and Murphy is for me, however, the shower in between cloth couch is a potential concern. Maybe better to have shower in front of drawer or where toilet is? I would be interested in a new and improved or this if proved no problem with shower/couch and also more garage from back?
@Bebtelovimab there are mini dishwashers that sit on the counter for tiny homes and apartments. Not great if you're cooking for 3 or more but for 1 or 2 people it is fine.
Definitely top 3 best layouts I’ve ever seen. Came up with ideas I’ve never seen and he was honestly checking all the boxes especially with the shower set up 😂
Van life is already out-of-the-box. This creator is beyond out-of-the-box. Keon, you are brilliant, and you make it seem so easy. $85,000. is not enough money for this. Wish I could !
Fantastic van build! I was thinking the same in terms of two bar stools. There are those with collapsible fold down seats that would slide into a tight storage space within the van. I love how minimal and clean the van looks too! The greenery might catch dust and grease from cooking, but it’s esthetically pleasing.
Great idea - I was just thinking of a wider exterior fold down table, but the stools on the trailer hitch mount would be extra. You could also design stools (with foot pegs) that swivel out from the back of the cabinets, or come up out of a bracket and store in the one-wheel garage.
*I absolutely love the U-shaped kitchen! I like to cook new recipes, so this is my kind of build. I also like the full size bed that's neatly tucked away when it's not in use! ❤ LOVE IT!*
easily one of the best videos you have done, nothing to say about the van as theyre always stellar!!! but the energy between you two makes it feel like youve known each other decades! keep it up! :D
Keon, your van is spectacular! So much fun in a short-ish van! Would love to see what is involved in setting up the shower though. As a female, the only thing that's missing for me is a hanging closet, but on the other hand, you have the best kitchen I have ever seen in a van, no matter what the size! Great job! If you were in the UK, I'd be more than interested in your van!
Same here. Beautiful layout, best I've seen thus far, how does the shower set up and the toilet do I need to take it out of the bench? I'd like to have mine build out as I'd prefer different finishes than what you have done..and add air fryer oven and am willing to pay for the plans for this build as well.
I love how he put the couch / Murphy bed by side door always thought it was the layout for me -great hidden shower concept saves so much space & - the u- shaped kitchen is uniquely genius for those who love to have some prep space and enjoy the cooking process -great story Jarrod 🎉😊❤
What a beautiful build!! Love that couch up front by the big doors! You have everything you need, and the shower and toilet are hidden away! Can’t wait to see more of your vans!!
What a fun dialogue. Two friends cutting up and touring great build. Can’t wait to see #3. The grass as a backsplash is great looking but I want my backsplash clean. Fun fun fun thanks
Bro! Such an interesting idea! Love that kitchen... A Lagun table in the corner of the sofa section would make it complete. All round great build, well done Keon.
Which is why I love him. He’s not out there trying to take advantage. It’s priced right and if anything he could go up slightly more. But he knows not to take advantage :)
I love the layout but I have a few issues with it: The shower pan needs to be dry or else the cushions, etc could take on moisture and develop mold. I'd apply some forced air sucking moisture out of the shower pan area, just like for a composting toilet, so that the pan can be bone dry even if you use it every day. If the cushions and bed are marine grade that should make them more resistant but I still don't want to risk it for anything inside the van. The skylight, which is absolutely brilliant and great fung shui from it's location, really ought to open up for even more space and ventilation from the showers, as well as providing roof access from inside, and I would have sized things so that you can shove one of those cushions up there to act as insulation if you travel to anywhere cold. You ought to add a locked gate to the garage, just to deter even the thought that someone could sneak up and take your monowheel while you're cooking. Finally, I would add a latch and a pole hidden behind the kitchen console so that you can open and close the back doors from inside, and I would rest the pole horizontally on a hinged shelf in the swing path of the doors so it can keep the doors open in case of wind. Overall, this is an absolutely BRILLIANT build and I will be stealing a lot from this design :p Ps: you are charging too little. There is another excellent build with a Murphy bed and hidden shower that was SOLD for 155k! I would put your design right up there with that one... yours has a little more storage, theirs has a direct walk path from side to back.
I remember the Brooklyn Loft! Love the U shape in the back, there was another tour you did with a girl that was using it as a bed and had stairs going up etc. If I ever become a nomad I am doing a U shape 100%. Question, where does he store his clothes etc. Cabinets above kitchen?
That van has a fabulous layout, well thought out. Only thing missing for me is maybe a max fan. Really liking his shower & toilet & how they are incorporated into the furniture but the bath mat slit is what its about!! Best of luck to Keon & his mad vibes, he seems like a fun character. Onwards & upwards fella 😍
If that skylight could open up, honestly he wouldn't need the fan. An effective extraction fan for cooking would exchange the air quickly enough that there wouldn't be much difference between having the fan on vs cooking with the doors open, and having the cooktop so close to such a big opening means that there is very little chance of oil vapors ending up inside the van, assuming he has a fan blowing air out from behind. If that skylight could open and provide roof access, this design would literally be perfect imo. It boggles the mind to imagine how he could improve upon this design!
Love the shower under the corner sofa cushion & the cassette toilet under the bench across from it. My complaints were always "where's the toilet?" and "I want access to & from the cab" for emergencies. THIS is PERFECT! I love it!
I would like to have seen how that shower unpacks when in use. All that fabric around it seems like a worry. Perhaps he has a cool solution. Perfect build for the passionate cook. 👨🍳
Nice different design! Would just recommend skylight that opens (for fresh air, safety, roof access), and make small egress point in kitchen counter (safety). 😊
Awesome kitchen!!! I love that U-shape. Looks like a great work space. It really looks like a comfortable place to host, also, which I wouldn't expect of a van
I absolutely love this build. I have seen nothing like it in the many months I have started looking at people's van builds. I love the idea of having the kitchen to the back of the van. That u-shape is lovely. Excellent job, Keon! And I just knew this van would be six figure range. That's impressive that you're asking for 85k.
Triple AAA build! Superduper cool van, from a superduper cool dude. Well done! A side note: I would be willing to sacrifice a part of the kitchen for a hanging closet, being a girl and all that..
I think this is one of the best van builds I've seen! You can easily do the 3-S's [sh*t, shower, shave], sleep comfortably, but not have to make your bed every morning, and a GREAT kitchen for those of us who LOVE to cook!!
Great Build Keon!! I always like the chemistry between you guys! I haven’t been down there in North SD County for almost 5 years and haven’t lived out there since Spring of 2000, but Del Mar is lookin’ good! I reckon I need a “RoadTrip!” ~ ~ ~ “Ol’ Scooter” down in East Texas!
I know a lot of people in this community and it’s safe for me to say Keon is in my top people I like being around. There are A LOT I love being around but hanging with him always puts a smile on my face. Cool guy!
*🙏* KEON TILGHMAN, PLEASE GIVE ALL YOUR PRAISES TO OUR GOD IN HEAVEN, FOR YOUR EXTRAORDINARY GIFTS & TALENTS. BLESS JESUS' HOLY NAME, SIR. *🙏💜* This is theee BEST van build !!! And the most UNIQUE design layout EVER !!!! *IT'S EXCELLENT* The few things I "kinda'" miss, probably because I've been accustom to seeing them, are: - The permanent bed. - The driver & passenger swival front seats, that easily swivals around to face the living area of the van. - Also, the easy access to the vans' cabin from the INSIDE without having to go OUTSIDE the van, for more safety & privacy.......... HOWEVER ! With-a-quickness ! I got over missing them after walking us through Your entire van, lol !!! The SIZE of that Murphy-bed, how easily accessable the bed is, and how easily it can HIDE an unmade bed, if/when necessary, is sooo impressive !!! YEAAA !!! You may sacrifice swival seats, but in it's place you gain: * leverage & support underneath the Murphy bed, * a stow-away Shower & * more seating, for lounging !!! It would've been cool of You to show us just "how" ANYONE, including yourself who's 6'1", can move back-n-forth through the cabin & living space with ease. And who wouldn't mind sacrificing the design of that permanent bed, for such a very unique U-SHAPED KITCHEN that YOU created !!! Such an awesome idea that you can still see out the back door WINDOWS while cooking whether it's raining/snowing or too windy !!! And what a BONUS cooking on a day/evening with the backdoors FULLY OPEN !!! Woo-hoo !!! Ahhh...SIMPLY BRILLIANT, SIR !!! 🤩 May THE Lord in HEAVEN continue to bless, protect & prosper You, Keion Tillman & Jarrod Tocci (Thank You, Sir !). Amen, IJHN !!! *🙏💜*
Hey man, I a Baltimore native. But I'm moving to NC. And then I want a get a bus built. Maybe I will do a van...but will you do my conversion please. Hopefully I can learn from you.
This is so well done! One of the best layouts I’ve seen and the first van I can actually see someone living in. I don’t love the grass walls- they just look busy and hard to clean…. But otherwise 👏👌
I really love the layout of the van but I hate the fake greenery on the side doors and back doors. It think it cheapens it and it would get crazy dusty. Everything else is fabulous. Really love the kitchen space.
Well done Keon. Really changed the game with that layout. I didn't know how to feel about it at first but after seeing the large bed and the ability to still have a shower really made it make sense.
THIS!!! I've searching ages for a design like this!! My design is almost the same but I needed to see it in real life to improve some things! This is amazing!! *Save*
A 6×5 Murphy bed is big enough for two adults or 1 chihuahua. Lol. Love this out of the box design. I don't remember where I saw it but I saw a lady who had a sound booth in the back of her van. She's a voice actress. Everything else including her shower was in front of it. She did skylight instead of windows. I'm with Keon. I like the Promaster.
I love his sense of humor! I use a different name on IG but I just followed him on IG to see his previous build. I know he sold it but I wanted to see what it looked like. This one here is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! Thanks for sharing
