New to your channel so not sure where you have not been to yet but some ideas would be Louisiana where I'm at. Eat some good gumbo, crawfish, red beans and rice. Go on a swamp tour to see alligators and hogs. Visit the French quarter. Go to Cafe du mode. Just some ideas. 💕
Just watched your video! Love your energy & no-nonsense attitude toward your van life. I'm 70 years old & want to learn more to make my life dream happen. Come to Yosemite & I'll meet you! Thank you & be safe! 🌌🌟💙
The more of these “Solo Women Van Life” videos I see the more confident I become. I’m 67 years young but feel 30, I have no family at all so why not try this, right? I hate living in the city it’s like living in a fish bowl! I was looking for land but now I believe I just want to roam! Thank you for sharing your beautiful van life with us. Stay safe! 👍🙏❤️😎😻
As for me, I'm 66. Homeless with class. A 35' class A RV. Can be challenging at times and may not be for everyone. Watch more videos with alot of pros and cons about a nomadic life, before doing it. If you do this...😉 enjoy!
My partner of 18 years just run off with a younger man 😬 I’m buying myself a van or something similar to covert as I’m out of here and going to spread my wings across the United Kingdom and Europe.
Get after it, man. Can’t think of much worse to happen to your heart, but it may just be the best thing for you life. A project to keep you occupied and a goal to travel is great. Can’t suggest enough a small, wonderful dog like this gal has, just to keep you in the habit of an open heart. Best of luck to you!
So inspiring. Having come through a divorce and now living alone during Covid and losing my job I found this so motivating to think about my own future. Thank you for posting. You have thought about everything ! 😊🇬🇧
Lisa Martinez , I know what your saying 2020 really sucked ,, when you get your travelling home ? Pick me up and let's reclaim the year we just lost lol ??? (Only kidding 🤗) But seriously I hope you achieve your dreams .......
Woe this’ young woman did one of the most informative and organized videos about her van that I’ve ever watched. Plus she has great designs and is obviously quite creative, intelligent and experienced. Kudos kiddo.
Wow! She not only gave me ideas on ow to improve my van, but also named the product she uses and explained well its use. Thank you for a wonderful tour of your RV. I felt like I was living in a documentary.
I feel tempted to point you to something I saw in Anna's van: "Never stop exploring". Because this comment sounds like you are missing out on quite a few vanlifers out there!
Been binge watching this stuff for 4 years now and surprisingly haven't come across such a comprehensive, clear video. In most cases it's a couple travelling together where the male explains the tech stuff. Thank you so much for this and inspiring me & other women! Subscribed, how would I not?!
That sounded very sexist.. It shouldn't matter who explains what.. They are just people explaining stuff, It shouldn't come down to gender. It would be considerate that you remember this when you comment otherwise it comes across as being sexist or bias towards other genders. Remember we are all equal and we all can achieve everything we want in life regardless of gender. This goes for you too @Firefly and I, seeing that you loved this comment.
@@Meatcleaver101 I'm all for equality. Please read my comment properly and don't just come off to pick an argument. I just said it's lovely and not very usual. I really wanted to appreciate the way the video was expertly done. I'm sure she understands and takes that in a positive way. And friend, it's not about communication but perception. And if your lens are foggy, I can't be of much help.
@@Priyankhab12 Well if bias is a factor then you learn nothing and think only one way.. Just like a horse that wears blinders to stop them from turning in other directions. A bit like comment about perception, Your perception, that this being "The most comprehensive & Clear video" merely shows that you haven't watched alot of the Professional videos available on RU-vid and/or most watched video from people that have been doing this for alot longer than Firefly. Having said this I base my comment on the statement that you made saying that you had spent 4 years watching videos like these would suggest that you were only searching for particular videos that included after a while a theme that you were searching for. This maybe a clue to your bias and that I may be the one who is actually seeing things clearly and that your vision may be foggy? A bit like your last comment towards me.. Don't hate the Ref for calling your foul... Play fair and by the rules and have fun.
I am 63 and I wish I had been able to do this when I was young. However, being born in a country where survival was priority and outdoorsy stuff was of utmost luxury and unheard of, I could only dream. Now, I’ve changed countries twice and have been able to live this, thanks to an amazing Australian husband. We have travelled, hiked, walked the Camino two years ago and converted a ford transit. Good luck on all your journeys and stay safe.
Honestly, when I saw 30 minutes I almost didn’t watch it because I thought “what could you possibly talk about for 30 minutes?” I apologize for my ignorance!! This was extremely interesting and I admire your adventurous spirit!
You had me at Firefly. 🎶Take my love🎶 🎶Take my land🎶 🎶Take me where I cannot stand🎶 🎶I don't care I'm still free🎶 🎶They can't take van life from me🎶 Think that's how it goes...mighta paraphrased...🤣
I’ve been particularly interested in how the composting toilet system holds up. Most people are very vague when they explain it. You were in-depth, that was great!
I have watched a lot of Vanbuild videos, and I have to say this video was probably the most professional, educational, logical, streamlined and edited beautifully thank you for sharing, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it!
Extremely brave , strong , independent , and really down to earth woman you and all your friends must be ! My hats off too all of you , this must be very inspiring and inspirational for alot of woman young and old . I'm just amazed to actually find out how many people there are from all walks of life that are already doing something I've been wanting and thinking about doing for years
You couldn’t have a rig called “Firefly” and not have faerie lights! That is one of the most creative van builds I’ve ever seen! You have spectacular design taste and would you ever consider designing or building for other people? And your doggie is absolutely “Sterling”!
I totally love your home. It has everything I'd want for sure Sterling is cute and adorable. I live in Colorado Everytime I look at vans I always know when it's a conversion because of the racks for the solar. I hope one day maybe to meet you and talk to you about your home and that my boyfriend can see it. I was going to do that myself I had a van my friend was going to give me for$2.00. and then go to Craigslist to get everything I needed except batteries and solar. Again Love your home and especially because it has no windows. More secure for sure. Stay safe and well and happy travels to you both.
The way she explained the NH toilet system was so informative without being awkward!!Love the doggie and her tattoo!!The view outside the back was so pretty!!
Changing the floor in my van was a game changer with all the dirt that comes in. Never using carpets again! What I learnt is buy things as you need them. People fill them with things you never need! Love the dog looks so happy!
Love your Firefly build,I had to watch your video a few times because it's what I would love to build for myself. Wonderful design with a lot of thought put into it. Every nooks and crannies I loved. Your little roommate is quite the companion, Sterling that is. I'm so happy for you and your pal. Great wishes for you both, thanks
I live out of a 1990 vandura and it's just me and my morkie pup. It is the best thing I've ever done. I'm glad I chose to live the hippie Life. It gives me the freedom to do as I please and I get to travel and see things most people don't. Best life ever
I’ve seen a LOT of vanlife videos but this one is jus so satisfying logically and aesthetically, even though it’s not as dreamy or “pinterest aesthetic” as some other designs. It’s so well thought out and organized. Makes my brain happy 😃
Both the build and the presentation were done very well. Honestly, I wouldn't change anything about it. Since I don't have a river raft I'd have lots more room in the back :-) I did all of my travelings back in the 80s in a 79 Mustang hatchback. All 48 continental states and Canada. That was fun. If I had something like your Transit I never would have settled anywhere permanently.
I usually skim through these, but you're an excellent story teller. I truly love your van. Thank you for opening your home and heart to us. You are so right, everyone is different in needs. I truly appreciate what you showed.
So am I. I'm a lost pup with grown children, divorced 8 years from 20 year marriage to man with NPD who devoured my identity not to mention lost mom, and Grandmother so now this only child has been coping with PTSD and trying to find my way. Given my new business was shut down by Pandemic and I now believe I see the need to focus on nothing other than getting myself healthy again. I do believe this is my answer to maintain my independence. That alone will be instrumental before I can even think about "finding myself" again. I think I will take my upcoming small settlement (car demolished on top of everything else in 2020) and put it to use in just this way. Though I have no fear... Is there a group of people out there committed to this and who stay connected?
@@ambersewell8966 I hope you and anyone suffering find health and happiness back in your lives. I also hope you find some kind of answer on what to do m good luck
Finally! I’ve probably seen hundreds of van builds and yours is the first that I’ve seen that has an RV stove which is an absolute must have for me. I’m a retired Chef and really want an oven in my build. I detest microwaves and they use a crazy amount of power. I’ve also been struggling with the propane set up. I didn’t want a huge propane tank on the underside of the van and have to find propane filling stations. Having the bottles like you do makes it so easy to swap out from literally anywhere (convenience stores, hardware stores, etc). And that Bluetooth monitoring tool solves my problem of knowing how much propane is left in the tank. Thanks for showing that an RV stove is absolutely doable in a van with swap out propane tanks, you just solved two huge issues I’ve been struggling with. I’ll use more for cooking, but plan to install a webasto style heater that runs off the gas tank, so that should offset the usage. I just subscribed, great stuff! (PS love the home theater, another must have for my build!).
I am so glad it could help! I like being able to just swap out the tanks as well. And really, even with using my stove and oven every day AND my propex heater a few times I am still at 44% full almost 8 weeks into living in here!
I love how detailed and informative your tour is! My bestie is wanting to do something like this and it was nice to send them this video with so much information in it. Your design is so well thought out and perfect. Also, love where your van gets her namesake from!! ❤️
My parent's had an antique business in the 70s & 80s. We lived near Canada. The van was so cold in the winter. My Dad put wood paneling throughout the inside with insulation behind it and carpet on the wood floor he built. It made it so much warmer for us kids waiting on them or traveling on cold winter days. We could nap, play cards, play board games and my Mom always brought an old portable 1880s wood potty with porcelain bowl inside of it. It had a wood cover. Reminds me of his ingenuity.
This is really the only way to live if you want to free yourself and feed your soul, but still need to stay connected to the rest of the world. You’re definitely winning at life! 🙌🏻
I am blown away! I have been searching for a van that is perfect for me. I watched your video in awe with my jaw dropped!! I can't imagine changing a thing. You must be my mini me. Wow! This looks like a van version of my house. Okay, now that i sound like a weird creeper person, thank you for your video. So inspiring!
"Capt. Malcolm Reynolds : Love. You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home"
Lovely, practical design. I also like the couch looking out the side door. I don't like showers in vans because they take up so much vertical, visual space. A spray faucet with a large, deep sink allows for hair washing and a sponge bath. (You can get a collapsible laundry basket with a plug in the bottom to stand in when taking a sponge bath.)
The overwhelming message here is that we need to teach this from the beginning to our young... Different is not strange; it is beautiful, necessary and the only way to live peaceably together! Go Firefly as far and high as you heart soars...
This is one of the best van builds I've ever seen, thank you for living the life and sharing your experiences with us. You just helped people who are just starting out, make better choices. You freaking rock
You've done a wonderful job on your van. Well planned, the video is a professional job. I'm very impressed with your tour and explanation of everything. Love your Dog,seems like he's well adjusted to his new home. Thank You.
Wow! This is the best van build I've seen yet! You've thought of everything. I love that you've included a stove with an oven, deep sink and toilet. I agree with you about the windows. You have lots of light coming in and you've made it very safe for travelling alone. It's a wonderful home for you and Sterling. Take care and be safe.
This is the best van build I’ve ever seen. I love it. I think you thought of everything. It’s pretty, comfortable and looks so livable. Thank you for letting us tour your home. Happy travels.😃
Easily, hands down, my favourite van tour. I've seen them all (maybe about 50 or 60?), and this is the best. You come across as practical, down to earth, helpful, quirky and silly ("Sterling, I saw you paw-m that card!"). I hope I meet you on the road. AND! your Star Wars scroll brought tears to my eyes - it's the first time I've seen such a nice list of thank-you's.
You’re a doll! I really appreciate the time that you took to explain every single point and detail that would have otherwise been missed by a newbie. I now have more ideas to play with for my build. Thank you 🙏🏾☺️
Ok, just googled it. Whew! Glad its not some new creepy group in the states. Will subscribe. She is so smart and practical and informative. Much better than so many videos that gloss over too much.
You are a very knowledgeable lady; I'm in awe. And regarding your choices and suggestions, let me tell you I was taking notes every step of the way! - 61yr old lady, appreciating you and your helpful video. Thank you.
Great Build!! Love the heater, Im off to Google one... Build a side door for your propane...Yes, wicked good production 1 of the best I have seen in 4 years of watching van builds on the tube.
Hands down the best vanlife video I’ve seen so far! Compost v cassette toilet, fixed v convertible bed, direct drain v grey water tank, skylight and fan, dry air heating all info I found particularly interesting.
The gaming role play with Sterling made me so happy I started laughing out loud:) That was the moment I decided to sub. So creative to think of, plan, and execute that fun bit. People like you make the world more fun and exciting and unexpected.
Anna, what a warm, wonderful, unique magical space you have created. Such thoughtfulness and such intelligent planning! May all your journeys be as special as you and your van are.
Hi Anna and Sterling, what a fantastic home you built for yourself and your lovely dog, so cute. You are such a fantastic example of a young woman living your life to the fullest. The very best of luck to you, I am sure your Family are so very proud of the person you are.. 👍😉🇮🇪🍀
@@Tiny.Wayfinders Sterling reminds me of my favorite fur baby of all time. Her name was Lucy, and while I had her for many years, I miss her every single day! ❤
I love your design! You incorporated so much storage! The height of the bed is perfect. I wouldn't change much at all honestly it's so close to what I've been envisioning. And you are correct, it was the best sci-fi show.❤
I can totally relate to you enjoying being alone especially as I get older. I'm very happy being alone and I don't have a lot of friends. Of course I'm married so I have the company of my husband, but outside of my marriage I'm fine not having many friends. Be safe out there!
Great build the oven is super cool especially to having a van for cooking it was nice to hear you go over little things and talk about the highlights of your van!
Thank you so much everyone for engaging with this video! I so appreciate the amazing response. I uploaded a new one today (Sept 11), and I will be filming a Q&A to be posted next (on September 25). What questions do you have about me, Firefly, vanlife in general, or Sterling (haha) that I can answer for you in that Q&A?
I slept in my van last night, it's parked in my drive. It's not kitted out at all, I use it to buy stock at auctions. I just slept on a fold up bed with a sleeping bag, a head torch, blue tooth speaker and plenty of beer. Had a great time! Gotta get my build on! Great vid btw :)
I just love what you have done and I have been dreaming of this life for some years now with dog as well. Sterling is a cutie and seems like he loves van life. Thank you for sharing your story
You and Firefly and your dog are the cutest. I love the Sage trim. I would leave the propane where it is since you have the Bluetooth monitor, don't need to access it that often versus how often you use your other gear. Whatever is more convenient for you. I want a van one day and will save this video for reference. Great video.
Well done! Beautifully edited video for a gorgeous van build with an equally beautiful van-lifer! Your ideas and craftsmanship are top notch with very practical applications. Thank you for being conscientious about the environment and using appropriate soaps. I love how active you are and that you obviously take very good care of yourself; much respect. Please continue making more videos and don't worry about massive stories to tell, just short little ones with your startling smile and piercingly warm eyes is enough to keep viewers entertained. You are truly blessed all around! Thanks for the inspiration and I'll be doing my own very soon. (I Subscribed 😎👍)
