Seems like there would be horrible heat dissipation issues with plastic. Example... Mag dumping or competition use would cause early failure compared to metal. Heat cannot leave quick enough.
As long as the internal temperature of the suppressor doesn't exceed 600*, it doesn't exceed the material specifications. I've observed on average 550* is near the practical maximum. Continuously mag dumping will eventually cause a failure. Depending on competition type, if it requires continuous shooting it will eventually lead to failure. Target shooting competition, such as bench rest, hasn't caused any failures to date.
