He and his friends would put their belongings at the bottom of an upright-standing gym mat while spending time at the gym. They had done this many times before to avoid people stealing their stuff while at the gym. His friends have attested to this. But something had suddenly changed with the gym mats, because on the day of the accident, all the mats had been gathered, organized and put together next to each other tightly. So, when Kendric was done for the day, he did what he always did and dove head and one arm first into the upright-standing gym mat to reach for his items at the bottom. But since the mats had now been folded more tightly (giving less space) and packed tightly together (giving less flexibility), he got stuck upside down with one arm downwards and one arm upwards. He could no longer move and it was impossible for him to push or pull himself out. Any screams for help would be muffled inside the gym mat with his body blocking the top like a cork. He couldn't get himself loose and eventually died of positional asphyxia (which is a form of suffocation).

The family, from what I’ve read, really burned their bridges and alienated a lot of people. They deserved getting sued. But that isn’t racism, or part of a larger conspiracy. The cameras were motion detector types, and they turned on in response to sensed motion. It’s doesn’t mean there was editing done. They tend to function a little erratically sometimes. The rest...I just don’t know. My guess was he either had an ongoing beef with someone, or had a chance encounter that was sudden and violent. Then the perpetrator tried to cover it up by hiding his body in the mats.

if they really are motion detection cameras, then it makes sense that once the motion stops being detected that it would stop, and then other students show up, and it starts again. But what’s weird is how quickly it “stops recording” but how slowly it “starts recording.” All this still does look sus, i’m just sayin that motion detection cameras are confusing sometimes

Now, if you actually read on all the information out there you'll learn that the Johnson family filled a lawsuit against the funeral home for the way in which they dealt with his remains. In fact, the lawsuit alleges that they not only were aware that organs were missing, but "actively undertook measures to dispose of said organs in an effort to interfere" with the investigation.

You generally want the dead body to dry out in the coffin without being overly deformed and destroyed by the gasses caused by the rotting organs and flesh. I thought this was common knowledge, even the ancient Egyptians knew how to treat a dead body to keep it looking as "nice" as possible.

Man they were trying hard to cover this up, the videos are clearly edited by someone before it was released. He was running...he saw something that scared him. Then it just cuts to other scenes with other students. Very suspicious. If only the dead could talk, I hope this family gets justice.
I’ll never forget that photo of his feet at the bottom of the mat and his white socks, that image will never leave me. This happened about 9 hours from my hometown a couple years after I graduated in a town like mine, in a school strikingly similar to mine as well. Even the gym looks the same. The idea that this could have happened at my school to one of my friends gives me chills every time I think about it. I can’t imagine the amount of grief and trauma the students, teachers and lord knows the family went through and continues to deal with. How do you recover from something like this? How do you move on? How do you continue to live your life after a tragedy like this, a tragedy with no answers, no closure. It’s like a never ending cycle of pain. I think about Kendrick a lot, I hope he’s at peace and I hope his family is able to find some type of life worth living after this. It’s such a heartbreaking case.

No it's not common. They take samples and put the organs back into the body. They may want to keep them for education/class purposes. But if they do they ask the family first. I work in the funeral industry. I have never heard of an ME taking organs without asking the family first.

I just stumbled across this and found it quite shocking! In my previous career, I had over 12 years technical experience in camera surveillance, access programming, and corporate security for a major security agency; and I can see clearly, that this video has been tampered with, and some footage taken out. First of all, there is supposed to be a time stamp display on the corner of a screen to indicate the exact time, to the exact second, for archive & evidence purpose. All surveillance cameras have this type of feature, in one format or another. Well, in this footage, it's not there. The original footage was played back, footage taken out, and then recorded over to another disk, with the time display removed. If this footage was played back with the time stamp, you would see clear evidence of a gap in missing video; be it in seconds, minutes, or more. If this is footage released by the police agency & the school, then I certainly bet the mortgage, that there's a cover-up to protect somebody!

ladaca 2098 positional asphyxiation has to do with how his neck is positioned so that he wouldn’t be able to get air flow. I’m not saying that’s what happened, but it is 100% possible to asphyxiate by going into something head first, your neck and therefore windpipe bending wrong, and being trapped in that position unable to move. That is what the sheriffs office is claiming, not that the mat itself suffocated him necessarily.
people might look at this and say it was some ghetto violence or problem but there are way too many mysteries and inconsistencies in this case. might actually be at a government level or at the very least a very complex plot by a sick genius.
They need a specialist to analyse the recording. When digital recordings are edited the metadata becomes garbled. Even if it is edited, it may not be the authorities or school who did it. Even if a little far-fetched the murderers could be the ones editing the tape as well.

There was an affadavit submitted by a man that was told about how Kendrick was murdered at the school in this way. So yeah that would be a reason why they would cover it up cause the type of back lash the FBI and that police dept would get would be enormous. There's just too much of the story that doesn't add up so that's why people are thinking cover up.

These cameras are set to a low framerate and are motion-activated. The "jumping around" is due to both the low capture rate and the dodginess of the motion sensors.
The things that doesn't make sense to me since I first heard of this case (today and been seeing every video possible) are: * why was he supposedly reaching for a black sneaker in that mat? * how did that shoe get there? *he was already using sneakers, why would he want that specific and only shoe? *WHY NOT JUST TIP THE MAT OVER???? (this is the one that bugs me the most) *(from what I've seen in the photos) why does he appear without his shoes on? but rather on the side? *And SERIOUSLY!!! Are you really gonna ignore the obvious blood traces everywhere?? I KNOW this was no accident but, to me it's a stupid answer given by the officials like one of the attorneys said in a previews interview. Did they really think the parents would just give in that easily ?
