So, all you have to do is think about the great pyramids of Egypt and I can play just like Joe. This reminds me of the voice teacher who tells the student, "Make for me a flower!" The voice student then sounds like Pavarotti, right? These 'metaphors' that teachers use does very little to help the student overcome the physical limits of playing pedagogically. I need to move to Egypt!
Another example of a great player who just can't convey the essential ingredients to emulate that aspect of playing. "Think of the great pyramids of Egypt..." What the... What about air support and air speed? What about lower jaw position. What about separation of upper / lower teeth and the role that plays?
