I would go a step further with the disenchant rule. Disenchant ALL copies of nerfed cards (not just extras). Reason: If you continue to open packs throughout the expansion, you may end up opening extra copies of nerfed cards AFTER you can receive a full refund for them. This is why it’s important to get the full value of the refund while you can. And there is no consequence to doing this since you can always re-craft the cards if you end up changing your mind Tip: Search “refund” in the collection to see what cards they are offering dust refunds for
Totally agree!! I do this. Most likely nerfed card won't see play and you might not need it. Even if card is still viable I avoid that deck and try other decks. Worst case you craft that card again!! I had opened 2 golden copies of rods to disenchant for 2nd nerf.
Be careful in disenchanting your nerfed Epic cards. Once you have 2 of a card you will not receive that card again unless you have x2 of all other cards of the same rarity. (which includes disenchanting). So if you are missing 12 epic cards and you disenchant 2 Celestial Alignment, you will not receive another celestial alignment in packs until you get the remaining 12 epic cards for that set (since the game already calculated you got 2 of them to begin with). It's also not guaranteed that the 2 celestial alignments the next epics after that. It just allows duplicates to pop up again meaning the odds of getting your disenchanted epic in a pack is extremely low. Example: I just disenchanted 2 Troggs and 2 Snow Giants for the Alterac Valley set... I opened 2 packs and got 0 Troggs and 0 snow giants despite them being the only cards I don't have anymore. As I already have every rare and common in the set it I now have to randomly get them again in packs instead of the game giving me what I don't have.
@@Hephaestus_God You can always craft them back if need be. No loss! Yes, you probably won't open those epic/legos. But I'd rather have that dust now and wait. Ex. Kolkar Pack Runner did not see much play later and I used that dust for crafting epics that I really needed.
I love how you provide facts backed by data and evidence based research. This is irrefutable stuff and as an engineer I wholly appreciate the information and advice you guys give. The hard part is modifying my behavior to match your advice. I'm so bad at not slapping that disenchant button as my ADHD gets the best of me and I make regrettable crafting decisions.
I do the same exact thing. I craft based on impulse and don’t thing about it. I end up disenchanting tons of cards to where I’m almost at the point where I can’t disenchant anymore. I’ve probably lost tens of thousands of dust to the void from crafting and then disenchanting and then crafting.
I think Hearthstone packs/bundle/cosmetic prices are outrageous. You have amazing full content games you can play for years at 15-20 euros if not less! I had a period where I purchased pre-orders, for 2-3 expansions, I completely stopped. Been playing since 2016.
Great analysis and tips. Yes, I do spend money on HS. Previously I would buy both pre-order bundles (last year or so), but now I'm only purchasing the mega bundle and buying the remaining packs I want/need with gold.
Great advice! The mass disenchant button is a trap. Since Darkmoon I've been buying the small pre-order and the tavern pass and have been able to complete each set.
I wonder, how exactly is that "30 minute of Ranked play" determined? Because it seems highly amibigious what do you mean by that. 30 minutes of Ranked play can be 5 wins of super fast aggro or 2 loses of slow control. Im afraid that 30 minutes assumes that your deck has a 100% win rate
I did it similar from barens till now i was saving up my dust and I dusted only during nerfs. Now in AV I have so many legendarys and all the meta decks hit legend early and I have a lot of variation and fun while being f2p
I’ll share my experience though I’m not particularly proud of it. As I’ve played more I’ve gotten better at finding hacks like this to create more value with less money. Still - 1000 USD to collect entire Standard set. 400 USD on complete Classic set. About 500 USD to get enough coins to Max out most of the Mercenaries. And with rewards tracks and dusting, I’ve built a very strong start in the Wild collection. So almost 2000 bucks to have access to most of the game content. It’s a lot of dough but I really like Hearthstone!
I will never spend money on Heartstone just out of simple principle of that we have Legends of Runeterra which is arguably a better card game and it's really f2p friendly. Thanks for the tips. My main method is to do quests (fuck achievements they are so random) and farm exp in mercenary mode when I can. If blizzard decides to not give out exp from mercenary mode I think I might be done with Heartstone tbh.
This channel provides a ridiculous amount of information for hearthstone. I'm a numbers guy, showing statistics and probabilities really help. All the best.
I did spent money on HS. I like slower decks so after yet another expansion that brought me no joy in the game I decided to not buy anything this time, no packs, no tavern pass. I bought packs with my 8000 gold. I have over 16k dust so I dont have anything to worry about for the forseeable future.
I used to buy the very old bundles of a new hero skin, card back and 10-20 packs. Now that they are mass peoducing skins without packs I don't want them. I bought two tavern passes and the 6 month WoW offer, but after all these lawsuits I don't think I will ever pay again for Hearthstone. I have played since launch and f2p is fine for me.
I've spent around $500 on Hearthstone. This was mostly during my college days, saving money and buying packs. Havent spent anything in last 2 years, as I don't play as much.
Bonus life hack: If someone's interested in Battlegrounds or Mercenaries mode and don't mind waiting a bit, consider playing on an alternate region or account, this can allow you a fresh rewards track of Gold to either commit to Battlegrounds perks without worry, or go all-in on Mercs packs and get lots of Mercs/coins easier than getting equal resources grinding the mode itself. You still have to put in some work to get the Gold, and your cosmetics and achievements won't carry over of course, but this could be a viable value route for some.
Free2play here. Haven't pushed the button since they stopped Hall of Fame returns, where it was arguably worth it. Just got 1800 Dust, feels alright. The semi-regular Dust payments have been worthwhile, enough to craft the missing pieces for roughly 1 or 2 decks per expansion on its own.
I started to play HS since 2015, my first years wasted some money with pre purchase and bundles to start my collection, but last 3 maybe 4 years I spend nothing.
i played a lot fo hearthstone for free, now when i can i buy a preorder and the battle pass. with that i have almost all cards of this year fo the griphon, and lots of dust to make what i want. but the most important advice is, never click the mass disenchant, take your time, and dust old cads that dont see play, like scrap shot a hunter card from ashes of outland, to give an example.
No idea where to post a question for you, so here I am trying. Is it worth to craft an epic card to get exp points for it's achievement or how much exp it would need to give me in order for it to be worth ?
Bought some starter pack when I started playing and I've been buying the tavern pass since it was first introduced. Never spent any other money on bundles
So I can spent 30 minutes each day doing chores and slave labor to craft cards eventually or i can bust out for a preorder and have all the cards i need to have fun for the entire expansion on day one and then be able to only play when I want to and play what I want to.. yeah I know which one I pick. You need to take people jobs into account. How much time spent in game doing chores for a reward vs how much time spent working at your job for those rewards. The latter is not free i know but as our goblin buddies say "time is money friend" so yeah my time need to have a value as well. And 30 minutes in game doing chores everyday leads to burnout that will make it so when I can finally play for real i wouldn't want to where as playing when you feel like it won't have that effect.
On average how many meta decks can you play each expansion using all this? I'm considering returning to the game but only If I can play like 3-4 decks otherwise the game will feel really boring If I'm only capable of playing like 1-2 meta decks.
@@arabtrol4984 You can have lots of copies but only use 2 copies (1 if legendary). The game encourage you to disenchant this, but I aways wait for the card be nerfed or go to rotation
Questionen to the Mathematiks Team: i was super lucky this Expansion i got alle legendary card s and i still got a rnd. Legendary on my rewards track. What should i do ?
You don't need two losses to get an arena ticket. I've done this for at least 2 expansions: open arena, use a ticket, cash or gold to start a run, back out. I always skip the chore of playing matches and drafting decks when I can. Duels is a bit more irritating for me because I end up with these duels quests from the odd event and I wanted to just sit on a heroic run to get a ticket refund.
Dang, I had no idea that you could dust cards for full value after a nerf even after dusting the playset. I have been disenchanting down to 4 copies of everything so I could dust 2 of them if there is a nerf.
use old android phone, install a clicker, start the cycle for day and night and get lvl400 in less than 3 month. 210 latest pack are guaranteed and 30-40 other pack too, which gives you full collection (got whole year updates collection for free), and you dont have to do or count anything, just play as much as you like and whatever you like. and you dont have to dust your cards at all, cause wild is the nicest game mode if you have cards, not dust.
In my opinion, by using VPN buying pre-order packs from the country which suffer from high inflation is the best way to save real money and time, such as Turkey, it is juciy as a turkey 😄
Make sure to always double check with patch notes which cards that were nerfed. The notice you get when logging in the first time after a patch conveniently left out a few of the nerfed cards this patch and the previous.
I have spent money on hearthstone…. As in, the prepurchase bundle for the last… idk 5 or 6 expansions? And also an unknown number of packs for the years prior. Have played since Naxx so it definitely added up over time 😳😳😳 BUT! Time is money, and I’ve got little time as I’ve gone through school and training so it is what it is. Definitely an outlier in the pool 😅
Yup. In my opinion disenchant everything that's low value that you know won't get nerfed under any circumstances. but keep unique cards like maestra of the masquerade because you never know how the meta will shift
Be careful in disenchanting your nerfed Epic cards. Once you have 2 of a card you will not receive that card again unless you have x2 of all other cards of the same rarity. (which includes disenchanting). As I already have every rare and common in the set it I now have to randomly get them again in packs instead of the game giving me what I don't have. This is relatively easy as they are common and rare cards, but if it was a legendary or epic that makes the odds really really low.
@@RickyMuzakki But for full dust. Sure you can recraft it, but what is the point of getting a full dust refund if you just use that dust to put it right back into the same card (except golden ones). And if you use the dust you just got for legendaries you now have to wait for more dust just to craft a card you got rid of. So there are some consequences if you don't prepare ahead of time.
@@Hephaestus_God The point is that until you actually use the card in a deck, you don't have to recraft it. And depending on the state of your collection, you could get it again randomly from packs. I disenchanted all my copies of Hysteria, and by the time I wanted to use it again, I had already gotten new copies from end of month reward. So conversely, what's the point of keeping of a nerfed card, if you don't actually need it right now for a deck you're playing ? I'd say none. It's always better to have the flexibility of dust. And if you use the dust for legendaries, well you got legendaries you would not have gotten otherwise. Unless we're talking about someone with compulsive tendencies to spend ressources who somehow "cannot be trusted with their own dust", but I doubt people who optimize their HS ressources fall into that category...
@@tgibearer4553 A majority of people will not have every epic. Rares and Commons sure, but I spent $80 on the pre-order for the expansion and was missing about 12 epics (not including 2 of each one) after opening all my packs. So if you are a normal person who doesn't spend any money (Like the majority of players) then you deffinetly won't be close to having all the epics until maybe the end of the expansion. (Way after the nerfs occur in most of the time. So you won't get the dust refund if you wait that long) So you have to be extra careful when disenchanting epics you might want to use in a different deck. That is all I was saying, It's not that hard to understand. Because they deffinely won't be opening them again in packs they would have to craft it. And if you are at the point where you want to re-craft your disenchanted card back you will most likely be out of dust and will be wasting the dust you get on new packs to recraft a card you already disenchanted. I'm not saying "Don't disenchant your epic cards". I just said to make sure to plan ahead.
Some of these strats stink, I rarely am able to complete a daily quest within 30 minutes and the win 5 ranked games one can take several hours. Also being able to get so much gold in the track would only be good if you saved every bit for the next expansion, meaning you have to have this expansions cards already. Otherwise, good luck having much fun in the game only getting the cards slowly with I complete decks.
Duels and Arena are the most profitable game modes for me. During UiS, doing 1~3 Duels runs a day was how I obtained most of the set and got Diamond Benedictus, with about 2500 gold and thousands of dust to spare. I'm doing the same now in Alterac Valley.
@@fatihrime If you complete the collection too early, you will not have anything to do for the rest of the expansion phase. Even playing ranked won't do much because the pack value will be very low at the time. If you can maintain a good winrate (about 5 wins per run) maybe 1.5 runs a day would be optimal
@@Erhogz It should've been a problem, but fortunately it isn't. The best duels decks contain 90% standard cards and a couple of common/rare wild cards.
I stupidly mass disenchanted 50k in dust worth of cards last week. It appears I’m left with core set cards rather than ones I own. So After core set rotation will I lose them and be forced to craft them again at a reduction… after just dusting them at a reduced rate? I’m a wild player and am worried I’m soon to get REAlly screwed over by the core set rotation. As the only version of many cards I’m left with is a ‘core set’ version. I’ve got a mountain of dust Im going to have to spend getting back cards I now have as ‘core set’ versions, right?
Next year core set will change, why would you do that (disenchant actual card you own from expansions)? Core set is basically LENDED TO YOU for a year, but you never own the core set cards
@@RickyMuzakki I had them all already so they should never have been lended to me, but they were re-branded as 'core set' cards by HS so now they show up as core, rather than from their original set. My concern is now that their system will not be sophisticated to know i aleady had them all before they were labelled core set and that they will all now be removed, necessitating my re-crafting of them and my significant loss, due to the mass disenchant value ratio being so skewed against us players. I may be worried about nothing becuase they gave us goldens as duplicates, but it's all very confusing. Thanks for the reply
and i d like to see scripts of choosing opponents - i have done 65 wins yesterday to reach legendary. and i didnt do it. every time i go up to 1-2 star of 1lvl i got a losestrick of 5-7 loses in a row, cause i got bad start hand and opp have perfect. every time. 65! WINS! PER! WHOLE! DAY! you can imagine a number of lost games. now i am at 5lvl 0star.
i spent money on HS but sadly i think i may quit the game entirely soon because i cant reach legend this month :( and the meta is too difficult for me to play consistently
Good video as always. 3:51 the cards are already in the Wild format (except for those that the lazy m***f***s banned from the mode), the cards just disapear from Standard.
GREAT VIDEO ITS WHAT I DO i have a arena farm engine so i do 3 packs a day on top of that last nerf gave me 4k dust i'm on 340,000 dust and 114,000 gold just doing pretty much and MORE what this video says solid video
I havnt spent money yet but i am thinking about it, im actually super happy with what i have but i would also love to get more and support blizzard to make the game better
I don't want to sup blizz, such a vile company in mysogynist environment. I buy them to support the Hearthstone devs and team 5, those are actually great people with passion
tbh i think every expansion besides the last 6 should be free/ baseline or atleast the Legendaries because you cant have fun in wild or duel...... we are just to limited i dont see sense in buying those packs
Pure ftp here. Never spent a dime on any game since I play multiple games and I don't have the money either. i do spent lots of time on certain games including hs, but not on recent expansions as those have shitty balance and just filled with crazy aggros and RNG. i do think that f2p players able to reach legend but not every month. The thing is to own just only one meta deck and grind it. Should be enough for regular diamond/sometimes legend
