The new 2024 Volkswagen T-Cross R-Line, undergoing a mid-life refresh, maintains its identity as a compact SUV with some notable improvements. Visually, the T-Cross receives updates with new front and rear bumpers, revised fog lights, and LED head and tail-lights. Equipment levels have seen an increase, featuring a digital driver's display across all models and an eight-inch central touchscreen, with higher trims offering a larger 9.2-inch screen. The infotainment system is praised for its navigability and impressive crisp resolution. Volkswagen addresses a previous concern regarding cabin materials, incorporating soft-upholstered, higher-quality materials on the dash panel and door cards. The addition of a new leather steering wheel from the Volkswagen Golf further enhances the overall interior experience. Mechanically, the T-Cross retains its previous configuration, with the reviewed model equipped with the most potent 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine generating 150 horsepower and 250Nm of torque. Power is transmitted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to the front wheels, achieving a respectable 0-100 km/h time of 8.4 seconds. Riding characteristics continue to be a strong suit for the T-Cross, offering comfort that competes well within the small SUV category.
