Great review! Just ordered one a few days ago with delivery in late December. I cross shopped this with the X5, new Q7, Range Rover Sport and VW Touareg. In the end it stood between the XC90 and the X5, but in the end the XC90's interior and exterior styling, and blend between comfort and sport won me over! The XC90 was simply the better car!

Im a German, but in my opinion the Volvo XC90 has way better quality and design than for example a BMW X5. A friend of mine works at a volvo dealership and so i really had the insight in these cars

Harikrishnan K M Yes he forgot about that. That sound system is very nice. I really like the new Volvo they did a great job with this vehicle. It is at the top of my list as my next vehicle. The only other vehicle that might give this some competition is the new 2016 Q7 when it comes out. I like the look of the Volvo better but the Q7 will be a nice SUV also.

No, a Range Rover autobiography has a 29 speaker 1700 watt meridian sound system. The Range Rover is top In its class for sound, Land Rover used hardon Karden years ago

Alex Bailey Audi's always break down on you. They are great at perceived quality, but poor build quality. Also, the Q7 looks like a large pig in my eyes.

What brand is it? i got Dynaudio in my Golf GT R-Line. Dynaudios were used to Master Lord of the ring movies for you who didnt know. Course not the same in my car, but stil.. ;)

Great review, as for comparing it to the more established brands, Firmenauto (YES a German magazine) ranked it as the best company car of the year. And this was against cars like the Porsche Cayenne and BMW X5.

Really cool Volvo, now they need to drop this into their Sedans, and make something sporty. Kind of like their Polestar cars, but more readily available. Damn Polestars are super hard to find.

Looks like a hybrid of Rolls Royce (good) and Honda CRV (bad). Great quality tho, Volvo have done a great job with this one.

I liked everything....except for da ugly tail lights! The problem for me, is that after 2 years or so, it will seem VERY boring to look at, Unlike Audi, BMW, Merc, Lexus.

Srdjan Smudja You're right. Great example is the v60, which came out in 2011. Design is the same, but still looks better than other estates.

Good jeep but no way i'll take this instead of a range rover sport or the proper range rover itself. The difference in luxury is clear for all to see.

Daniel, can u Get the Volvo xc90 come with massage seats, 4 sone climate, champagne cooler in the back and 2 10.2 inch screens in the back including a terrain response system and wade sensing with sonar? And can u get it with 510 bhp and 550bhp?

Woefully underpowered ! A 2 liter engine trying to propel a huge heavy car ... It just doesn't work with the petrol, or diesel which is particularly awful .. The transmission is so jerky and never knows what gear to be in ...
