Vortex makes good glass at a fair price IMO. I have a Venom 5 X 25 X 56 on a 20 inch 308. It's clean / clear to look through. All in all I like it and it works well for me. I am very old school and long range to me is, me and a buddy and one of us looking through another scope at 100 - 300 yards. A few rounds and it's "You need to come down 3 in. and over to the right 5 in. A few rounds, OK now your really off turn it back twice as much the other ways LOL. Love the content and Great Job as always. You know the drill, Keep making videos and we will keep watching with the thumbs up👍👍👍
@@TacticalConsiderations I have Venom 5-25X56 on all my rifles except my M4 A3 in 5.56 which still has the iron sights. 3 of my rifles are Mossberg. Patriot in .308. MVP LR 308 (discontinued.) And the Patriot Predator cerakote 7 mm PRC. .61 inches for a 3 shot group.
I recently picked up strike eagle in the same configuration less the bells and whistles. After learning that the venom is similar I returned the strike eagle and purchased the venom
Just ordered mine from optics planet, my goto for optics. I had no idea it was a brand new scope, that explains the limited reviews. Thanks for the video
Hey Mike!!! Stumbled on to your channel surfing RU-vid up here in Alaska. I was like crap, I know that dude. Great content!!! I'm really glad to see you sharing your expertise and experiences with everyone. All, I'D HAVE THIS GUY WATCH MY 6 ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!!! don't come any better! Your old gym Brother. I'll have to stop in there when I'm in town. SEC 8
Nice bro. Hitting 1000 yards with a single stage trigger. I know its a blackout trigger, but I always have to have a 2-stage for long range. Arken has ruled the budget scope market (Japan glass) but looks like Vortex is jumping in the market also and that's good to see.
Wtf… I was literally just looking at this exact scope on Optics Planet, went to look up reviews, and literally see that you just posted this a couple of hours ago 😂
@TacticalConsiderations I consider this optic the best single scope on the planet Earth. If it was end of the world and I could only take one optic over all of them..this is it.
I got mine last week. Just have to figure out which rifle to put it on. If you did 1000 yards easy with it, then I will try it on my CS MESA LR 338 LP.
for someone that just goes out to a range and hits plates by themselves would you recommend an MOA version or MRAD version? The MOA is a bit cheaper and I'm willing to make that sacrifice since all my other scopes are MOA. I've been wanting to get into MRAD scopes but the cost is usually a lot higher.
For my 18" SPR I go back and fourth between getting an LPVO vs a 2-12 or 3-15/18 with offset red dot In NY we are limited to 300 yards but I can travel to shoot 1000 but in that case I have a 4.5-30 I could throw on. ??
@@TacticalConsiderations Thanks bud I appreciate it. I know you like the Vortex but have you ever checked out the Element Titan? I love that reticle!!!!!
I was pretty impressed with the performance of it at this price point. Especially now that I have several pieces of glass that are 2k-4k in cost I have a good reference point of very high end and below.
@@TacticalConsiderations You absolutely do with that price point, and the pricier ones like NF and such. Great value and price for what you get with that scope!!! Now to find a LPVO with an etched glass green reticule and a 1-8 or 1-10 zoom with similar high qualities for the similar low price point.
That looks like south Mountain. I live out in the east valley near queen creek. Where is this spot you are shooting at, I’ve been trying to find a good spot to stretch out my rifles
Another great job on reviewing this scope!. To bad my brand new Vortex Strike Eagle 3-18x44 arrived a few hours ago! In any case, Vortex has been making some great optics!
Ribbed for her pleasure, that is exactly what popped into my mind when I saw that, LOL. I wish Blackout Defense would make a 6.5 or 308 version of their dual taper lock design AR.
Turns out with the rev zero stop installed you only get 47 moa or 19 mils. You’re loosing a lot considering 36 mils or 124 moa without it. Just something for people to think about.
8:34 does not look good here at all. Right side of reticle is super blurry, left side is clear. Clarity is non existent on the edges. Maybe some of this is because of the tactacam I guess.
