I hear a lot of people complain about the noise grain in the screen; distorting colors, making lining difficult and hurting eyes. It didn't seem to be too clear in the video on yours but how are you finding it?

great Review Jason! May i ask you some questions? Has it cooling fans? Does the pen tip make those waves of liquid cristal distortions when you press the pen harder on the white screen? I heard, the mobile Studio pro and Cintiq pro does. How smooth is the touch function? I draw my work on a Surface pro and a flawless touch-operation is essential for me (zoom and rotate) Thank you

Jason .. is the thickness of the glass like on the cintiq pro 16 ? I mean .. in the 16" model ( I tried cintiq 22hd , cintiq companion 2 , and cintiq pro 16 ) the thickness of the acrylic/glass is the less is very thin (thing that I like a lot ! coz it feels like you are almost painting on the canvas ) on th eopposite side on cintiq´s22hd glass of the screen is the thickest .. with this in mind .. this new cintiq pro 24" it maintains the same tickness as in the smaller brother cintiq pro 16" ? thanks .

I studied your post carefully. I'm going nuts. Do I get an iPadPro or do I get a Cintiq Pro 24?? I have an old Adobe Creative Suite CS5 on an iMac and a simple little Wacom tablet which I can't get used to using the pen. In fact, I prefer to do my simple bits of coloring with a mouse! But I really need to level up. I have skills but I need new tech. First, I want to do a simple shading for a 200-page graphic novel. Next, I want to start doing children's books and simple illustration jobs. So, with all that said, would you recommend starting with an iPad Pro--or should I really be looking at a Cintiq Pro 24? I'm sorry. I know you've been asked all this a million times by now! I really could use some help. Ideally, I'd have both.

Question, does the screen have the grainy look because of the etched glass? The video shows it doesn't but I've seen the 32" tablet on display that is uncomfortably grainy. Thank you!
@HappehLemons

I just got one, and I've got a question. Hows the fan noise on yours? Seems like mine are on full blast and actually louder then my PC. They aren't super loud, but they make enough noise that I do hear it unless I've got music playing and they never seem to turn off.

Thank you so much for this video. Very concerned that it is not 3rd party arm-mount compatible. Are there any specs on the box or with the product to say what a possibility of a third-party mount? Thanks.

You probably cannot see 10-bit colors with cintiq, epending which graphics card your macbook is running. Nvidia has locked 10-bit color screens from all of it's cards aside quadro line up. If you are running an AMD videocard there then you are golden.

I have one question about the resolution. Do I need my iMac/PC to have 4K or does that work separately. Or can I get only full HD? This is something I can't find any answer on their website . (Or I'm just stupid to find it.)
@johnmcelrone
@johnmcelrone 6 лет назад
Resolution is influenced by the screen itself. In this case, the Cintiq Pro has a 4K screen so you can run it natively at 4K (given you have the hardware to power it) or at any lower resolution if you so wished.

That will depend on the kind of software you're going to use. For light work a 1050ti should be fine. However if you are going to be doing intense work in 3D applications like ZBrush, you will see a drop in performance.

Two questions: 1) Should you get the Engine for $3299 or buy a new MacBook Pro with better specs and also have a independent laptop when not plugged into the Wacom Cintiq? 2) Should you get the Touch or Non-Touch Display? (Previous Touch Displays had problems.)
@aricornejo
@aricornejo 6 лет назад
My advise for question 1 is get the macbook pro. However, if you do any type of rendering including cpu or gpu I'd build my own computer since it's a lot cheaper and better. The I9 16 core is $1690, 32 gb of ram is $350, windows 10 is $99, $150 tower, gpu 1050 ti is $250, motherboard $320, m.2 internal 500gb ssd $210, power supply $120. Your total is $3069 or $2179 if you choose the 16 core threadripper. All that extra money can go to extra hard drives, quadro card, and a ram upgrade. Best of all you can upgrade your pc and fix it if issues arrise, the cintiq engine on the other hand doesn't look easy to work with. Good Luck
@PhantomGanhdi
@PhantomGanhdi 6 лет назад
Ariel Cornejo but I’d also need to get a drawing display tablet with the pc build so that’s another +$2,000 USD ish added onto the build😕. (& I’d prefer the Wacom Cintiq 27QHD version so I’d also need to get the stand for another +$300-400 & a bigger desk😂)^^. But in all yes it would be bettered than getting the engine for the cintiq
@aricornejo
@aricornejo 6 лет назад
Yeah but I believe the engine is the worst thing anyone can buy, I'm surprised what little both versions of the engines offer. I would write down a list of whats more important for you, a drawing tablet, better cpu, better gpu, a laptop, a desktop, will you be on the road more then at home etc. Lets not forget the softwares you'll have to buy. Good luck

Awesome video! Thanks for being one of the first Do you think this mountable on a ergotron arm? Not really a fan of wacom’s own stand Also I heard those using windows had trouble with 4k. Do you know if that has been fixed?
@process_junkie
@process_junkie 6 лет назад
I can't speak to the Windows on 4K thing, but I use windows 10 on the Mobilestudio pro with no problem. I'm using a mac because, well, it's better for what I work with... It didn't come with an ergotron arm, but the one you're using is for the 27, right?
@totoelazul4840
@totoelazul4840 6 лет назад
I do not have a 27qhd. I’m working on an old intuos 3 and was looking to upgrade. I’m having a hard time choosing between a 27qhd and the pro 24. I like the idea of being able to use an ergo arm to be able stand up and draw as well since I have back problems Since you have the pro 24 do you see that being possible, if a there was a vesa mod able to do that?
@matthewlong610
@matthewlong610 6 лет назад
No VESA mount compatibility according to Wacom's twitter feed, so it needs to be modded to work with an ergonomic arm unless you have one with some sort of easel-like canvas clamping mechanism. Windows' only issues with 4K are some menus and things have scaling issues but most of that has been fixed. At 24" you'd want to set resolution scaling to 125% or 150% or so or else text will be too small to read comfortably.

I bet it does...but don't worry...they will sell an "Ove Glove" as an added accessory for $80.00 USD. You can wear the Ove Glove while you draw and the heat issue goes away.

Is there a way to TURN OFF "Pen Tilt" 100%? I can only get it to "Low" setting -- but I need no pen tilt turning certain drawings -- can you please help with this and ask Wacom to have a "100% No Pen Tilt" toggle option, if not yet?? Also for 16 MobileStudio Pro. Please, thank you.
@Firebrand911
@Firebrand911 6 лет назад
Actually, I have an OLD Wacom tablet (regular Intuos) which doesn't have it. But I still am wondering if the Cintiq Pro and MobileStudio can turn it off (at least temporarily during certain drawing styles).

It's hella nice piece of tech! sadly the marketing word "Pro" is cleverly placed to attract the hungry consumer. defo adds an extra un-needed £500 to the price tag. No parallax seems to be the biggest win for me for this. 4k and colour comes second.
@ador.anomie82
@ador.anomie82 6 лет назад
How do you determine if you need the extra 8" of screen space 24 vs 32? That's a $1300 difference.
@aricornejo
@aricornejo 6 лет назад
If you are planning to only use one monitor get the 32 this way you can add reference images or more windows open on the screen without taking too much from your drawing area. If you use multiple monitors I would get the 24 and use the other monitors for reference images. By the way the cintiq 24 is huge already!! A lot of head turning if you're okay with.

Do you prefer touch or non?
@process_junkie
@process_junkie 6 лет назад
It depends what I'm doing; When I have gmail or a browser open, touch is awesome for scrolling, swiping etc, then when I'm drawing if it's something with detail where I have to zoom and rotate, It's good to have it on then. I turn it off when I'm just doing regular inking or colouring. The other time it's great to have it on is in movie or audio editing software; zooming and scrolling with your fingers is way quicker on the big screen than using the touchpad on macbook.

its hard for me to justify the $500 when I will only use it for art... especially when I will spend $400 or so on the stand later on... hmmmm

+John Kim Non touch for me. I want to be able to relax my hand on the screen when I draw (I'll buy it mainly for drawing only). I drew on my friend's cintiq 27 touch before, I had to wear glove because my hand kept messing up the screen and I felt uncomfortable with the glove. But he told me I would get use to it for awhile. For me, I prefer not to stress my hand with glove.
@cphdotdk
@cphdotdk 6 лет назад
So there is just one version for each size that also includes touch? I was a bit confused, because on Wacom's website, they use the term "Cintiq Pro 24" and also "Cintiq Pro 24 HD" in terms on delivery. Been a long time user of the Cintiq 24HD - look forward trying this baby! Wish they made a 22" version though. Sweet spot for those of us with not too much space and who don't want it too small either.

Still laptop hardware, so I'd take "heavy load stuff" with a grain of salt. Also, two power bricks is a bit janky when you consider a much more powerful iMac Pro doesn't even need one.
