New Warlock Card Breaks Combo Decks 

I'm glad there was room in this deck for Plaque of Death as well.

I need more vs druids

A friend of mine introduced that tech to me during Raza priest dominance and it was a delight.

Definitely, its also frustrating getting OTKd.

@@izthisheaven Highly efficient combo decks are also pretty "unfair", pretty much by definition.

@@izthisheaven Well it IS a tech card that's only viable against high mana combo decks. Anything else can either play the burning cards or can afford to let them burn. So against those decks, this is a useless card; a 4 mana, dead draw, useless card.

Both are unfun, but no need to print a card as bad as this. It just stops people from playing any big decks or take away win conditions, which I am fine with, if it's just shudder. There aren't just 2 types of decks m8 and priting a card that just generally makes hearthstone less fun is the worst idea ever, next to making it hard to report autoclick afk players

@@Monastiraki2022 Yes, both are bad. For the record I think Immolate is substantially less bad since it's at least interesting and doesn't necessarily end the game on the spot, but multiple things can be bad at the same time. Hell, in the current state of the game almost everything is bad!

@@Monastiraki2022 that's just a dumb argument. As someone already told you why I won't bother, but I do think that immolate is worse for the game. It just destroys every slow deck. I'd change it, so it only destroys combo and combo alone. Smite isn't fun at all, but there is counterplay against nelly. I don't think being able to discover him is a problem, it's just that he exists. He should also apply -1 atk to all pirates and be a tagless card himself. Switcheroo had potential to be fun if they just changed cost instead of stats, but thanks to neptulon, that's now broken too. I have played a lot of games today and pretty much every game was a 10mana game, which makes me happy, so immolate being the card it is, really is a bad thing for hearthstone, unless it is 6mana and destroys in 4 turns and therefore solely for combo decks. And I don't care at all if you are a warlock player that just likes to tick and immolate. It's just not fun.

@@TheSquareOnes yeah there's a good chunk of quests, the 10mana dragon spell for mage and the macaw that repeats >5cost spells, shudder, buffs for aggro, rogue, immolate, tick, phylactory, smite, somewhat reliable combo decks and of course priest being the most neglected class almost always and one of the worst things that isn't even a big issue for me, ignite

Polarizing against combo isn't that bad. It might bring midrange and tempo decks back to the format.

@@GaussianEntity polarizing is ALWAYS bad, because you can lose a game before it even starts, by just playing combo deck and playing agaist that warlock deck

@@pwl2992 Maybe don't hold your combo pieces in the mulligan. Maybe run a Finley. Heavens forbid you have to actually build your deck to consider other decks now.

@@pwl2992 That warlock deck needs to draw its one-of immolate and play it early enough for it to matter. Its other disruption tools are not nearly as consistent. Combo decks can have protection against Dirty Rat by keeping useless minions in hand. Gnomeferatu actually got buffed with the advent of Dredge effects, but you can play around it. Without Dredge it needs to get lucky to burn a combo piece.

With how much aggro is being pushed, I'd rather lose to more OTKs than have the archetype die. Just to allow more freedom in deck building.

That's only what an aggro player would say. You know this card ruins any 8-10mana cards? And tzerefore makes life harder for big and control? Even a normal curve would be hard to follow if your win condition just gets swooped up because of that. It should either be 6mana 4turns, 3mana but destroys cards that cost 3 or less 3turns, or it just shouldn't exist. This deck you are tying to push is the most unfun. You probably don't know how unfun it is to even just play against tick, but now this? Nah. I just played combo once. You wanna know why? Because warlocks are the worst of the worst when it comes to tech and therefore should all die before they can play anything. Pushing warlock with that and abyssal curses just makes me wonder why I even play hs. Why do we even need cards above 7mana ehrn they're just waiting to get immolated, why do we need 6mana cards, when we lose at 6mana? I sometimes wonder if the game ever went in the right direction for once...

@@rltt379 Pretty much why people like Lifecoach quit, the actual strategy element is pushed out, in favour of mindless 4 turns strategy to throw anything in your hand at your opponent's face. Stuff like Pirate Warrior and Quest Hunter just ruined the game for me and I only play to finish up my quests for the sake of staying in the game. But the problem is, Wild as a format is just dead beyond repair, unless they start mass-banning cards. Almost no games go past turn 5, and most of the opponents I meet don't even know what to mulligan, they just win because of aggro's bizzare value and ease of playability. Blizz won't listen to the community on any of their games, though, and that won't change much most likely. It's sad to see a good game be reduced to this, they probably plan to sell character skins for aggro players to make profits from now on.

@@hiddenkoalarage yeah... Wild is fine as long as you stay low rank, but I imagine meta decks in wild are just crazy strong.

Hearthstone isn't that complicated. Just count the turns. Jesus christ. Like there's nothing wrong with deck trackers but you people just want every part of the game to hold your hand so you can sit on the toilet and rope every turn anyway. No need to pay attention to the game when my wonderful decktracker will do it for me.

@@Enja_Near that's usually true, though I play a somewhat control value deck and that card doesn't shut me down, but woupd be really annoying. If that was just an anti combo card, then sure I like it, but then it could just be 6mana 4turn destruction. And that would make hearthstone a slightly better game

@@LhynkalTheFool excactly. It shouldn't be a card for aggro, just a combo breaker. A tech card to a degree, putting on pressure to play out the cards in hand. Nothing more

It's a BS card indeed. As a Reno control mage, that card was played against me on turn 4, I instantly conceded with my hand full of 7+ mana cards, including Jaina hero card, Yogg, Yogg's Puzzle Box, etc.. Just not fun to play against.

Only minesweeper rogue. It reduces cost by 1, doesn't set cost to 1.

@@Enja_Near you underestimate power of this. 1) you can "prepare" for next turn (it doesn't say "this turn"; 2) it also kills a minion - which is great if you must trigger it immediately (such as when you must clear the board to survive or avoid heavy damage)

@@user-25352 and you just made multiple incorrect assumptions. I'm fully aware of what the card does. I can read. I'm also fully aware that in a non minesweeper deck you can use it to set up a sheep. In terms of Dane decks, he doesn't want his big minions to die, and backstab provides more versatility while still being able to pop a sheep, making shattershambler not that great.

@@Enja_Near "doesnt want his big minions to die" is that why he uses Anka? :) but yes, backstab does have versatility (against stuff that has no more than 2 hp anyway). I'm not sure whether you can easily find a slot for this new card, of course. What I'm saying is that it certainly won't hurt the archetype, so its worth trying to fit. P.S. I recommend to not assume other people make certain assumptions :)

@@user-25352 I'm pretty sure Anka is used mostly to set up turns where he can play cheap deathrattles and cube them and resummon them normal size. Shattershambler only enables that if you do it in between the target deathrattle and the cube, so it doesn't actually save any mana; it's maybe a slightly cheaper but less flexible alternative to that 3/4 that activates deathrattles instantly.

Godfrey? It’s just removal, you could play whatever you want in that slot, starfish, gigafin, anything that helps with matchups you have trouble with

My immediate thought too, what the hell are they thinking? It's so clearly a busted card, and is a 180 from the old design idea of the player's hand being fairly safe from interaction.

There're cards which pulls out your minions from your hands and getting eaten if that legendary murloc is used. Also there're cards which drag out spells from the opponent's hand. So yeah, dude, from that perspective, combo decks are fucked since Naxcramas and it's deathlords.

The penalty is a card,4 mana and having to wait for 3 turns before it does anything, also autoloosing you a lot of times if you have a dead raw vs aggro

Or using techcards yourself... If your opponent is allowed to play a 4 mana do nothing card AND you have no finley AND you can only win 1 way, is this not the same as dirty rat, tickatus, gnomferatu burning your only wincondition, only you can react to it for 3 turns beforehand?

@@ethanleino9926 I play control and big decks actually. I just dislile the concept of 8-10mana cards being useless. That's just bad for the game.. They could also make the effect 'for the next 3turns' your opponent can only play up to 3cards
