Not going to lie I miss devacurl. I used them exclusively from 2014-2019 when my hair and scalp took a real bad turn 💔 Just the way they’ve been responding to the scandal turns me off from going back but damn the nostalgia is real. I’ve been having fun finding other brands to be loyal to though. But I can smell the deva products through the screen and… my heart 😫
😢Aawww I’m so sorry that you had a bad experience, I’m glad that you’ve been experimenting with other brands . Tbh I think it’s always great to switch it up too much of one thing isn’t good (and this doesn’t only apply to hair )
It does seem like a lot of the no pop - conditioner type shampoos seem to be sued. Like devacurl & wen. I often wonder it is because no true cleansing.
@@CoyoteCrossingSanctuary i agree i tried the no poo method for 3 months and my hair and scalp was so weighed down do too build up and shedding was real if i wash my hair more than twice a week i will cowash and clarify in between
My go to was the wave maker alone. Made my hair so voluminous and thick. Everyone complemented how my hair always look so nice. My hair grew a lot every month. I had literally little to no shedding at all even on day 5 wash day. Though it did made my scalp itch from time to time to the point of scratching myself bloody. I stopped using it when the controversy started and now I've lost most of my hair volume and my hair on the thinner side.😔 For some reason devacurl just made my hair grow? Im kinda thinking of going back but I don't know anyone else have the same experience?
YES!!!! Omg yes yes!!! My hair was so incredibly long and voluminous and I never ever had itchy scalp or anything. I noticed slight changes to my curl pattern and associated it to the controversy too. Every since I stopped, my hair is thinner?! And not as voluminous and I can’t find any and I mean ANY products that mimics the results Deva used to give me. 😭😭😭
Wow your hair looks stunning 🤩 I’ve got naturally wavy hair and devacurl makes my hair bouncy, curly and soft. I’ve only just found out about the negative affects so I’m a little nervous to keep using it now, just hoping they improved the formula and it’s safe now. Your makeup looks stunning also 🌸
Thank you so much !! Just have been informed that DevaCurl has reformulated the ENTIRE line . They’ve removed all ingredients that are not necessary for styling/product performance. However you still want to use products in moderation no matter the brand. Too much of anything is not good for your hair. Hope this helps 💚
Hello ! Beautiful results.!! I knew the results were going to be great!.. May I make recommendations? When using The Stretch Cream by DC. I recommend using the cream products as a base first, then use the gel right after when your hair is really wet. I also recommend using B leave IN as a base before the gel as well. I also use Heaven and Hair as a leave in too to help with Moisture. The Deep Conditioners are amazing as well. Love the results!..I still use DC I never had an issues with DC and I am glad you did not either.
My favorites are the styling cream and UD gel, I really hate ti let them go because my hair literally looks like I walked out of the salon from a WASH N GO ! I might just ONLY experiment with the products I mentioned .
Your hair does looks beautiful. I just started using the new devacurl styling gel. It seems to work better as I'm somebody who doesn't like to blow dry all the way through. I like my hair to air dry a bit and my bangs were really hanging and not wavy curly. Right now I'm starting to see wave in my hair that the old styling gel didn't produce. I think I'm going to try that shine spray. Thanks for the pro tip!
I mean no disrespect. But dang! You look and sound so totally different. Your voice in the after picture and your body language is so pretty and so confident, just as you are. In the before, you are just like so many of us. In the after, you are a STAR!!!
Your hair looks great! I like to use Deva Curl periodically and have been getting good results. My favorite products are the One Condition Decadence, Heaven in Hair deep conditioner and Super Stretch Cream coupled with a gel. I have similar feelings about the build-up buster, I never feel clean afterwards and follow up with other shampoos. I have used the Ultra defining gel and want to try the Arc Angel but first I have to finish what I have. I have also heard good things about the deep conditioners you used.
You're brave! I wouldn't let a sample touch an end of my hair even for a second after all the reviews about hair loss and ongoing scalp issues and lawsuits.
I was so happy when deva curl made my curls beautiful. Then the graying of color and really bad itching all over my body and scalp. I still have really dry scalp. I will never trust them again. It even made me not trust any other curl specific products.
I have noticed that after the scandal, Devacurl is now really pushing their products to the Black community. Very interesting. Also have only seen women of color reviewing their new products on YT. As my Momma would say, I trust Devacurl as far as I can throw them.
You don’t know much of anything else about these other brands either though. There are black owned brand to treat black people like Karlet and their influencers that they hire. Think for yourself
@@jazzyj904 But there is some truth to what she is saying companies do market to the Black and Hispanic communities this is not just hair products but other products as well. They do studies and use minorities as Guinea pigs without them knowing. Don't believe me do your own research and as you put it Think for yourself.
How do you feel about your hair using products now? I used them back in the day like 2010 Lmaoooo and they were top tier to me I remember using up till the last drop it was so good to my hair but it’s unfortunate the scandal I didn’t end up repurchasing...I think I will try again tho your hair looks amazing
When I first tried their products everything wasn’t my favorite I had certain ones that I loved using . Now I’m glad I gave them another try because the ones that I did like actually worked well for me , but I’ll use them in moderation!! I think that’s key 😊
@@prmeli1114 Yes Deva Curl is fine. Deva Curls fatal mistake was telling people they don;t need shampoo. She PUSHED co washing, leading people to believe they didn't have to use any shampoo. That was wrong on the part of Deva Curl. There is nothing in her products that would cause any harm, unless you just have an extremely sensitive scalp. There is nothing wrong with co washing or using her No Poo Cleanser, but you still have to incorporate a regular Shampoo in your regimen
@@WATCHWOMAN65 that's not completely true. There was people, including myself, that didn't do Co washes. Thier products broke my hair, and damaged my scalp.
@@KC-ed1dj I absolutely understand exactly what you mean... After 4 years I am finally beginning to see my hair show signs of becoming what it used to be. But I can completely relate with what you're saying and it is hard and it feels hopeless but if you do oil treatments and protein treatments you will eventually see it get back to what it used to be. And prayer helps
