The sound is really incredible for that micro unit and punches above its weight for such a miniaturized size. The mini unit (much bigger) is great too. :)

Those were amazing recordology! When you pulled the tiny cassette out I did a freakin' double take. I'd love to buy this but I really don't have a need for a BT speaker, but that is SUPER COOL though.

I’m guessing there was an issue with formatting on the SD card. Both the disc format and actual files probably have to be a certain type or they will not play. It can be a real mess to try to get something like that working, but the manual should have the specifications for formatting.

I have this slick rick version myself and for what it is it's great, but the radio part on mine leaves alot to be desired. It doesn't pull in barely any stations at all and the ones it does are really weak. I was kinda disappointed bc I've been trying to find a nice quality portable speaker with stereo sound that has a radio too, but it seems like those don't exist bc the radios on all the ones I've tried including this one have little to no reception in my area.

The CBS cassettes (Columbia, Epic, Jet, Philadelphia International) were all White with Red artist text and, often, Black album title text. Late 80’s Atlantic/ATCO cassettes (1988-1990 era) had Red on White print, switching from the 1983-1987 Blue on White print. Some Warner Brothers 1985-1989 cassettes also used the Red and White, unless the color scheme of the cover extended to the side.

Amazing how the mic managed to pick up the chip “whoosh” even with dead batteries. 😉 Edit: Good grief! I cobbled my entire hifi system together for less than the price of the bigger one.

Gotta admit, that is pretty cool. I think I may have heard of Slick Rick, but coming from a heavy metal and hard rock background, I just never cared for nor had any desire to listen to hip-hop or rap. Personally, I don't even like hip-hop and/or rap, so I just don't care to listen. As I tell my friends, I prefer my music more heavy metal and less hip-hop. With that said, I will admit those units actually sounded pretty good. Does that larger unit have actual two-way speakers, that is, those tweeters actually function? I still have my old 80's vintage boombox down in my basement. It is not the legendary JVC M-90 (I could not afford something like that back in the 80's. I was only in high school and no way my parents would buy me something like that!). I will have to bust that thing out and see if it still works. I am pretty certain the cassette deck will need new belts, though.

The tweeters are not real but the unit still sounds great. Something I didn’t mention in the video is that both units have microphones which is amazing.

Even though listening through RU-vid, but I have a good set of speakers hooked up to this PC and through that, I can tell that those units, especially the larger one, did indeed sound really good. I was actually quite impressed with how good that smaller one actually sounded, especially for how small it is. That is pretty cool that the microphones in both units are actually functioning. I will fully admit that I was tempted to want to get that larger unit, at least purely for the nostalgia reasons. Being 53 years old, I am definitely a child of the 70s and 80s.
