When I complete the rooting process as per video with zero errors, my google play store and other app stop working. Do you have any idea what I may be doing incorrect. This is the new version 12.0. Like your videos by the way :)
This new operating system is a game changer and is much more compatible than Android X86. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work, audio through HDM, and they even have fork for AMD hardware, something the X86 developers have not achieved yet. When applied to a gaming PC the performance benchmarks are mind blowing.
PLEASE NOTE!!! please enable Two step verification for your Google account when using FydeOS for safety. I noticed someone trying to guess my login details but two step verification stopped them.
most of us in the community was really skeptical on FydeOS and don't recommend using it. There's also a method where you can get a firmware from a specific devices and install it, It had all of the features of the Chrome OS without any additional things but I'm not sure if it will work on a Android TV Box
I have tested this OS and am impressed with it my one bug bare is having to put in a password when booting into it which is someting that I do not need to do on an andoid box. I did google around to see if there's a way around this but with luck if you or anyone else has found a way of doing this I would be very grateful. Great video you inspired me to take a look a look at this several months back.
Great Video! Really inspirational and I was interesting in using android as a desktop. But I have some questions. Please answer them so that I can get the full idea of it. 1. Can I test it in a vm before installing it in my ssd? 2. How were you able to use keyboard while playing games. 3. Can I install apks? 4. Can I install let's say popular editing apps that are not in portrait mode (canva, alightmotion, motion ninja) and use them in landscape mode? Thanks for the video! I might make a review video of this os in my own language :D
I am not sure about testing in VM. I simply plugged in a mouse and keyboard. However that does not always work without a keymapping app. The popular Panda keymapping apps failed on this OS. You can install APKs. Yes you can use those apps force control their orientation.
It's nice to see that someone managed to bend over Chromium OS rules and offer us both Linux and Android subsystem, but what's the point of using it for ATV? We have Android x86 builds exactly on Pie with ATV interface.
This is Awesome 🔥 Thank you so much! I love your channel. Found it and subscribed yesterday. Been watching a ton of videos today and this video just makes finding your channel all that much better. I cannot wait to install it. Looking for an Intel NUC right now to purchase and install on.
Please note the latest version 14 of FydeOS a very difficult to root, resulting in the Android subsystem hanging. If you downloaded the full version 12 you can root it. Affects the hanging Android subsystem simply uninstall open gaps and reinstall again.
The advantage of using any Chromium OS build like FydeOS is that they also provide Linux App support along side Android, which allows for more productive use of a Computer.
Awesome video brother NICK. Thanks for sharing. Never heard of it. Interesting video. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an amazing night. Much love bro
Hi Nick! I was in the process of moving, so I've missed a few of your videos, but I'm coming back slowly but surely. Nice content! I have an old laptop I might try this on, but it only has 32GB storage, runs on Intel Celeron N2840 processor 2.16GHz and has 4GB ram. Would you recommend even trying with such low specs? Thanks, and as always, great work!
I am still in the "moving" process too. I am moved, but trying to get unpacked. What a nightmare, that wasn't helped by the fact I had to live out of a hotel for 2 months before. But, anyway, finally getting into things too. :)
Great video. I love the OS. I’m able to watch Netflix,Prime,Hbo Max and much more all in 4K! However, once I rooted the OS, I wasn’t able to open the Apps. So I reinstalled the OS without root. I’m also using a mini pc
Hi friend. I wanted to thank you for your video and to let you know I have listed you in the credits on the toolset I put together for NVIDIA Shield TV Pro 2021 from all of our community's Knowledge. Thank you have a great day.
It seems to be very interesting, however, Please be careful for Information Security issue. Such as rootkit or anything which communicate with servers located in China.
So its not Android TV its just another android x86 but with linux which isnt the same. Android TV has a unique "desktop" or "skin" that is built for TVs this is just an OS that requires a web browser to go to streaming services instead of Apps.
(19:26) I can somehow sense that either I had never set up a tablet running Android 10 or later, or they might be using the same trick Likebook uses to be able to offer access to Google Play Store and Play Books on their e-readers. (Edit: I forgot to mention, it would be by using an older version of certain GMS components)
Just tried to install this on a Chuwi LarkBox Pro and its a no go for me. I'm guessing its missing more than just HDR codex because while trying to watch this video and others via RU-vid while running this operating system outputs a very scrambled video but perfect audio
I’m halfway through the video so far liking what I see . Will this OS solve the many problems and frustrations I have by bringing Android and PC together in unity ? Stay tuned ! Time to for me to head in for the Monday work thing . ☹️ Great video and thanks !
@@tvboxstop I’m hoping this will run Android games more effectively than an Android Emulator such as Nox ,, Blue stacks ect.? Emulators can really be testy on a pc almost to the point of unplayable. I’m sure you have had these similar experiences. Thanks again !
@@tvboxstop so I installed this Fye OS yesterday successfully which was highly unusual for me 🤣. The interface seems ok but I did encounter a glitch . Like the screen was shaking like an old time tv needed tuning but this issue was not all the time . Controlling my games looks to be a challenge . You should do more OS tutorials . Yours is the best laid out I’ve ever seen . Thanks !
Hi! I am having difficulties in configuring gApps. I did exactly the same as you rooted, after all procedure after final reboot, root checker app and all play store apps were kept circulating?(not executing) Any suggestions? I did reformatted the hard drives and tried seven times already but still not succeeded. So I un-installed and reinstalled the configuring gApps so many times but at the end of the stage, the endless circulating do not stop! I Even tried powewash or whatever.
Yes that is happening on version 13. You need to use V11 or V12 and it will work just fine. Ignore FydeOS updates, but update your apps. V11 - drive.google.com/file/d/1ddETMJyeGvvWbSg0mULwJepRbmFN4ncz/view?usp=sharing V12 - drive.google.com/file/d/1bZj7wfZqEDYtXQFK9vMnr9Kq_MuzbbMA/view?usp=sharing
tell me something, what happens when I install android x86, lineageOs or any other androidOs on a separate hard drive with windows 10 running as primary on different hard drive or dual boot but after having using & watching it, it totally disappears a day or two after there's no androidOs to boot from.
You have old pc and turn it as android box? Just buy android box its cheaper only 20-30 bucks, and convert your mini pc to something that more useful, like NAS, security gateway, UTM, DVR etc..
It actually doesn't work on older PC as it's 64bit and favors newer Intel and Ryzen hardware. However, this not for everyone, you have to have a taste or linking for dual boot and Android X86 and stuff. This wouldn't interest advanced users like yourself. Thanks for watching though, it means a lot.
which remote app will work with it? to play games and and use kodi. I have an old laptop i7 6th gen which i want to change into an android tv box for my daughter to play light games and watch youtube on big screen tv. can i follow your steps and later install some remote app like cetus play to use as a remote? please help. thanks.
It would try. However, we should note that following my instructions is for FydeOS of version 11 they have since upgraded to FydeOS with 12, and 13 with great improvements. I have not yet tested rooting version 13 but I have acquired the information on how to do so. You can go ahead and use the same procedure to install the new version 13 and you will get as far as installing the Android operating system without issues. Rooting will come in an upcoming video. With your laptop you can use any USB air-mouse controller, mouse and keyboard, or gamepad to navigate FydeOS, as well as you can use Cetus play app among others. I noticed that in version 13 lots of things are fixed such as 4K RU-vid streaming and video resolution up 120Hz possible 1080p, and 60Hz at 4K. The website is in Chinese just right click anywhere on the screen and click translate to English use the down arrow at the bottom to go to the download page.
Just a point worth mentioning, rufus can do hard drives too with a certain keystroke, its no biggy :) and you dont really need minitool either, windows has all that internally if you learn how to use diskpart, which is built in to windows, less is more...software wise
Yes I know about Rufus's ability to format hard drives. But what I discovered that if you format a pen drive with FydeOS it creates so many partitions on the pen drive that when you attempt to reformat it again using Rufus it causes issues and the only way to fix it is to use the Mecool delete all those partitions. And even the mini tool has issues sometimes getting rid of all the partitions FydeOS creates
@@tvboxstop windows internal one doesnt care how much is there, its simple as opening a command prompt as admin (important) then running diskpart, then typins list disk, then identify the disk you need, type sel disk 1 for example, then just type clean, very simple
Nice job, Of all the intros to FydeOS, yours is the most comprehensive. I've got to installing GAPPS, it runs till 20% and it claims some went wrong, can't get passed it. Can you help?
Thanks for your kind words. However I am currently working on a video that requires that I install FydeOS and FydeOS has currently reached version 14.1, and when I tried to install it I encountered the same GAPPS issue like you did. What I always to is with every version they release I downloaded and save it, and I discovered that if you installed version 14.0 there is no issues with installing GAPPS. Once this is done you can then update to 14.1. However for me and for many users, we have been trying to root the Android subsystem on their latest versions with no success. Some very technical minds have claimed to have done it, but how they did requires a bit of coding. So for me I still use version 12 that allows me to install GAPPS and still uses the root process highlighted in the video. What happens when you try to root the subsystem like I should in the video on their latest version, the process runs smoothly on till you reboot for the final run and then the entire Android subsystem freezes up on you and the icons just start spinning as though its loading, but they never load and that you have the two reset or powerwash the whole system and start again. For version 12 you can get it on my blog page - tvboxstop.com/fydeos-tutorial-and-version-downloads/
Press Ctrl T to bring up the terminal and type alsamixer and hit enter. This will bring up the sound controller. Using the key they list in the top right unmute the audio channels one by one until you hear audio. Note paly a RU-vid video in the background when unmuting to hear when you get audio. This is the issue I was referring to for AMD PC that I needed help with. I learned how to install the alsamixer settings so I can access it every time, but don't know the script to make it load every time on boot. This is is a manual setting and does not save once you shut down.
@@tvboxstop Thanks for responding. That works perfectly. Ill do some digging and see if there is a way to save the settings in alsamixer. There must be a script that you can save so that it restarts at boot. Ill let you know if i find any way round this problem.
I have a haier k6500 series tv with android 9 system There are two problems: 1- He does not accept the flash so that when I connect it, an error will come out and he does not accept reading it even though it accepts the wireless mouse. Tried exfat and ntfs hard disk and it didn't work. 2- In the internal satellite TV, when setting up the satellites, their names do not appear, but they appear in this way ******** I cannot know the name of the moon, so how is the solution for that? Thank you
Firstly I want you to try FAT32 format for the flashdrive. Also check with a 4GB flash drive not a large one. Sometimes they can't read pass 4GB and need FAT32. The satellite name issue have to be fixed with a Haier firmware update via online of via USB.
@@tvboxstop Thank you for your kindness. I have a flash from SanDisk with a capacity of 128 GB, and when I connect it to my computer to format it, it does not appear to ntfs and exfat. As for the update via usp, can you show me a clip explaining the method. Thank you
It dawned on me that the aforementioned usb did not support fat32 format, I used a usb that supports fat32 and the problem still exists. Also, as a backup solution, I did a factory reset of the TV and it did not solve the problem.
Thanks for the good content. I installed successfully on my laptop but I keep getting a black screen. I have to long press the power button to turn it off and on again. Any idea what that is?
well if you run windows just use win 10 native netflix app tho, as long as using premium subscription the quality will be up to 4K (depend on your monitor also)
"sdc" is the one for my setup. By the way I installed opengapps but Play Store haven't appeared on the menu yet. I haven't got much time to play with it but I'll tinker it when I'll have free time. Thanks for all the info.
Hi. Great tutorial. Thank you. It left me wondering though if this system can be booted on an old iMac. (Bliss OS can’t) And another thing is if this system is able to stream to Chromecast..
@@tvboxstop OK. It's about a 2009 iMac with Intel dual core. Booting the usb stick gives me the error: 'no suitable video mode found. Booting in blinde mode.' Also found this post: www.reddit.com/r/FydeOS/comments/huxjxl/dual_booted_fydeos_with_mac_os_catalina/ So to conclude and inform others who want to use Mac hardware; a big chance you will have video issues.
Hi the operating system is a 64-bit OS, and a keymapping apps such as Octopus does not work because they are 32 bit. However, there is a 64-bit version of the Panda app that has gamepad and mouse keymapping in one. The problem with the app is it does not recognize 32-bit games.
You will be limited to 2GB directly after BalenaEtcher, so use one flash-drive to install onto another to get the Full flash drive space. BalenaEtcher will only use 2GB on the Flash drive.
Cool option and looks impressive! How do you feel it stacks up against old blue, BlueStacks? Awesome video and great detail my friend, keep up the amazing content 👍🏾
@@tvboxstop your right, and I think this would be cool on my gaming PC running on a SSD... I’m going to try it soon and I’ll let you know my feel, but I’m sure from what you’ve shown us it’s going run slick!
no matter what android x86 or prime or linux distro i used on azw z83-v it was always running slow so so slow. the only one that runs decent is windows 10 ltsb lite version
Selam. Söylediklerinizi defalarca uyguladım. sorunsuz şekilde root işlemini yaptım. bilgisayar yeniden başlatıldığında google palyden yüklediğim uygulamalar ( FX folder, su, playstore vs. ) açılmıyor. açmak için tıkladığımda öylece bekliyor.

Both works just fine, but I use fufus. If using an external hard-drive as the boot disk, be sure to select the checkbox labeled (List USB Hard Drives) for it to appear as a drive you can flash the img to.
I got it to work once and after that it kept crashing. I got 525,458 on the Beelink GTR AMD Ryzen. that blows away the Nvidia Shield at 222,556. I could not get it to work again I tried so many different versions.
Hi. This is a really interesting option, however unless I missed something... although I watched it twice... you didn't actually install Android TV like we see on media players. Is this possible or would you install the apps like on a tablet, under the android subsystem?
Got it installed and everything worked out great thanks for the tutorial. any idea how to make it recognized as an Android TV on my google home app on my phone? I just want to use a smart remote with it instead of keyboard and mouse.
I am not sure or have all the answers. It's an experiment you will have to try. However, I recommend installing on devices with a second hard-drive or SSD to preserve you main OS, or else there is no guarantee it will work or mess up your main hard drive which you may not have the OS to restore it.
Great tutorial, but thats not a Tv OS. A Tv OS can be used with a remote control. For the FydeOs you need a mouse and keyboard. The title of your video looks misleading. When people read "tv box", the first they think of is Android tv Os. With which you dont need a keyboard and mouse.
When I complete the rooting process as per video with zero errors, my google play store and other app stop working. Do you have any idea what I may be doing incorrect. This is the new version 12.0. Like your videos by the way :)
My video is merely a demonstration, you will have to use the FydeOS technical support for answers. It appears you have done everything correct, so it must be a bug. Have you tried the previous version 11.4? mega.nz/folder/Om4QxYjY#1_ntqRice-fvzdAC9wswqQ I am now uploading so give it time about an hour.
Hey, I have an issue with wifi connection, my laptop doesn’t recognize any wifi and I had to connect it with Ethernet cable, is there any solution?? My wifi was working right before installing Fydeos hope you could answer to my question 🙌🏼
Could be that the software does not have the drivers for your WiFi adapter. You can try a USB adapter, a cheap one such as the TP-Link USB WiFi Adapter for PC(TL-WN725N) it cost only $9.00 and it's a driver less Wi-Fi adapter simply plug and play. I use it when I install Ubuntu on Android boxes and get no Wi-Fi it the only easy solution for me.
The latest version of FydeOS has gotten more restrictive so I stopped using FydeOS and am not using Chrome OS server build and I'm getting everything I need such as Android 11 with root access. A video tutorial is coming soon.
Is it possible to make the UI similar to the native Android TV layout? I'm trying to convert my old PC into an HTPC and dual boot Linux based OS for entertainment and use Windows for gaming.
That's for those of us who know nothing about Linux. And from the view count that's a lot of us. Not saying there isn't a better option like you mentioned, but people like simple processes they can follow.
@@tvboxstop Linux has hundreds of "distro's" you could even consider ChromeOS just another Linux distro (since ChromeOS is powered by Linux underneath). You don't need to know or care about Linux in order to use it, it's also ironic that Android itself underneath is also powered by Linux.
Hi great video but i have some suggestions which perhaps you could incorporate in the AMD version install? #1 Go over printer/scanner/webcam support #2 Is there Linux Beta support just like in Chrome OS? #3 GPU driver/acceleration support
Hi bro. I thank you for sharing with us this video. I have yet to try Fyde OS on laptops and desktops. There is an issue I am currently facing. I tried flashing FydeOS on a 32GB USB flash drive, on Rufus and on balenaEtcher, and twelve partitions appear when the flashing is completed. May I ask what is causing that?
That's the format of their installation disk. Don't worry about it, use it as is. Once completed use mini partition tool to delete all partitions and format to normal.
@@tvboxstop Oh, it's a normal thing for FydeOS to create twelve partitions. Cool bro, thanks for informing me. I was concerned since I did it for the first time lol.
Today I have successfully intalled FydeOS on a 160GB HDD, and activated Android subsystem, and installed Gapps, and installed my favourite APK files. Thank you very much for your video my brother.
I have installed the OS, and at where you sign in or create account. I entered the phone number, but never get the text. Have retried numerous times. Any other way to proceed?
On the sign up page there is supposed to be an option to use you email to signup instead. Create an account on their website here. Right click, translate to English. account.fydeos.com/signin
@@tvboxstop As far as I can see, there is no option to sign up with email. There is a sign in with email, but that's for if you already have an account ...
This is a very interesting video, basically a mobile android TV box if you installed into a flash-drive. Thank you Nick. If I wanted to install into the flash-drive, would it be the same installation process? Am I just pointing it to the flash drive instead of the PC partition drive? And what need to be doing each time I plug into a pc for the boot up? Thank you.
Yes you are correct, but use one flash-drive to install onto another to get the Full flash drive space. BalenaEtcher will only use 2GB on the Flash drive.
@@tvboxstop Do I download the FydeOS into the flashdrive then plug into the pc and start the bios page to bootup the installation? I've got a bit confused here sorry.

Tried to reboot the system a few times. Same result. Any suggestion? Thank you
Pretty much a nice os ill give a try but I wonder if its possible to install magisk instead of SuperSU also what is the partition type? Ntfs or ext4 ,ty for telling us about this os
It creates its own partition without asking. And you can also leave the drive unpartitioned and FydeOS will do the rest. However, it creates some weird partitions structures about 5-6 small additional partitions on the drive.
good, very good, the video interested me because I'm looking for an alternative to chrome os that won't let me install it on my laptop and well I'm interested in this operating system but I see that for an amd processor it has some flaws if I would like you to upload the tutorial so that ki can install greetings from mexico on my computer c:
Hi, just installed following your video, and I get as far as when to activate Android, I ticked the box on the left and clicked the button and it comes up “ oops something wrong” any ideas please?
Then make sure to download the latest Intel Iris of version from their download page. All versions listed on my blog will not work with the newer CPUs. fydeos.io/download/pc/intel-iris don't try to root it as the root process should my video will not work on the latest versions. It will just freeze up the Android subsystem and you will have to uninstall the subsystem and reinstall it again to get it working.
I have seen others install it on Pi but I don't deal or have experience in Pi products. I can't do everything, I have to leave something for others who are more verse in those areas.
@@crisroyal4665 I have not tried to install on another partition on the same drive. I don't know if and how it will show up the the drive selection which can be tricky. So I stayed away from it.
The only recommendation I have is that you install the latest FydeOS. Maybe the older version you are using lacks the right drivers for your mainboard.
