I imagine a pretty easy and relatively inexpensive way to deal with the understeer is by playing with the anti-roll bars. I imagine you can start with just disconnecting one or the other and seeing if you like the new driving balance, then get a stiffer bar for the one that improves it (I believe it is likely the rear sway bar you would want to beef up, but it's been a while since I've looked into them). Disconnecting a sway bar is definitely something you want to be careful with mechanically (make sure it won't hit anything as the steering and suspension moves) and driving-wise. I like the height it has now! Tasteful lowering and wheels!

The headliner looks just like mine like a cat went haywire on it. But the seats looked pretty decent from what I seen, gonna be quite a bit better than a budget beater when you get done with it. Wheels helped the overall look out a great deal. Don't need a honda or toyota to have a good used car. Gm made some good fwd stuff in the late 80s, 90s, and early 2000s.

I had a 2000 Grand Am GT. After trading it for a 2002 Grand Prix GTP, I was astonished at how much less understeer there was. Heavy understeer seems to be a N body thing. Hope you can solve, or least reduce it. I would have chosen 16" wheels, but I really like the simple design.

Those wheels look great! Any recommendations for a 98 with the massive center bore? Looking to get these Impala style 5-spokes gone.

Thank you for bringing us all this content. I got a suspension question. I will have to replace the struts on my 98 gtp as its getting bouncy and my 05 impala ss as it has original struts and springs. I want to keep it simple and low cost so no coilovers or lowering springs/axle alignment. But my question is, is it worth it/possible to put stiffer gm springs from say fe4/gxp suspension or just run new fe2 /fe3 OEM/moog/etc. springs? (impala springs are rusty and don't want to reuse them.) I tried searching the forums and didn't find a good answer on if there's a worthwhile difference. This is with kyb gr2/excel g struts. Thanks
