The completely neutral handle is what makes it so special. Reverse grip edge out or in, conventional grip edge out or in, saber grip, modified saber grip, throwing holding by the blade or by the handle, it can do it all.
The raised screw is a great idea. I had no idea why it was like that, but it just goes to show the level of thought and consideration that went into this blade. I do own a reasonable number of folders, (54 if I remember correctly), but fixed blades are where my heart is for the last several years. I only own About 35 or so, but that number will grow. It’s been about two years since I bought a folder, for myself anyway, it’s just been fixies. Due to financial reasons, I can only get one every couple of months or so, but your channel is making my list grow.( this Kaiken included). I find a smile on my face when I watch your fixed blade videos. Though, I must admit, I do pass over some folder videos. Sorry, it’s not you, it’s just where my heart is as of late.
Fantastic blade! I plan on getting one myself at some point. Recently I dropped a lot of money on two Williams Blade Design knives: the HZO 003 and a HZK 004. Both made by Winkler. But I really like these Lionsteel kaikens and folders as well. The raised screw on these models represents the Emperor Node on ray skin wrapped handles.
I'm new to the knife community, and have to admit that I wish I would have got bite by the knife bug years ago because I'm seeing all these beautiful knives and designs that are no longer available....is this one still available....by the way I love that you not only feature folding knives but also customs and fixed blades.....absolutely love fixed blades...keep up the great work and I'll keep supporting your channel....thanks bud

Not that I know of, other than removing the two sides, which I've had no need to do. It is a full tang that runs the full length of the handle the best of my knowledge and is therefore very strong although it is hidden. There should be no concern about strength in this small fixed blade.
"Emperor Node / Samei Hada," I've found out recently according to Christopher Williams the designer. I believe you're thinking of menuki, which would be true if it was a more elaborate figure. Many thanks for responding! 🗡️👍👊
@@OGBladeReviews oh the raised nose on the samegawa. Duh. The white diamond they paint, makes people think that natural stingray is like that. I’ve had people ask if my stingray was fake because it didn’t have the white diamond 😂
Does one have to order from overseas or is there a North American distributor? If you own the Hissatsu fixed blade you will note that Williams puts nodes on the right side of the. handle to provide the same intent as the raised screw of this knife.
You don’t need a guard (hilt) if the handle is grippy enough like James Williams knives are. No guards are better. Your hand shouldn’t be moving at all with a properly built handle.
