I was brewing a 50/30 AoE deck based on it 😊 I am not sure it will see table top gameplay though until AL local group wants to stick with 40/20

I wonder what the thought process was from the Battlemage in not turning off The Colour Out Of Space, denying The Witch a couple turns of resources.

I was thinking the same thing in game... I was thinking I would be be able to close out the game before it mattered but that was probably not the case 😅

Yeah it was a misplay for sure on site placement, but I think on behalf of both players. I know it sucks to "waste" tower effects for sure, but EXP already had two of the same Tower in hand, and I don't think the mana curve is high enough in the listed Witch deck to worry (too much) about missing a Tower ramp turn.

Close game! Not that it came up in this game but I think Scarabs are wayyy better than Bats, if your list is still the same. God I can't wait to play with Witch she looks SO fun, all that ability versatility!

I cannot remember if this list had a scarabs. Bats are good because of the burrowing but they should definitely be a scarab or two in there

Battlemage should have used their last turn to just trade blows with the Witch for a drawn game. Witch has a lot of outs for a lethal card play and even if they somehow dodge all of them there is the 1:3 or 1:2 odds of Thunderstorm winning her the game at the end of her turn (depending if the Witch player wants to sacrifice the Cavalry for increased odds of winning). The witch can also opt for a draw if the Cavalry attacks Battlemage, Unicorn defends and then Witch trades blows with the Battlemage. The only way for the Battlemage to win is that the Witch has an awful hand, the Witch doesn't want to go for a draw, Thunderstorm misses and then the Battlemage gets a lucky topdeck. All of that is pretty unlikely to happen so I'd just have taken the draw.

We talked about drawing the game and I cut the back and forth. Because there is not an official tournament book a lot of tournament organizers add a clause that says players cannot take game actions that would draw the game. That rule is really good for competitive play but for kitchen table a draw is really funny. I gave him permission to draw the match out, but he did not feel like that would be good RU-vid content.

@@TheExperienceShare I see. I haven't heard about such rule. I guess it makes a lot of sense for tournaments since there is a schedule to follow. However if I'm being completely honest I'm really not a fan of such rule. Seems kind of weird to tell someone that they can't take this action that might be the best action to take just because it would result into a draw. Thank you for the video. Watching games played with paper cards is always a pleasure.

@@chromesto I 100% get that, the other reason why that is a good rule is so you cannot intentionally draw in a competitive match. What you will see is people go 4-0-1 to guarantee top cut vs making people play it out. Which will knock out all 3-2 and potentially some 4-1s. Table top gameplay is a lot better than tts to play and watch in my opinion. I need a better way to track life. I am hoping to have a solution for that soon. (I use my phone to record right now

Im not sure I quite understand the reasoning for this rule if it does exist. This does happen in other games. 4-0-1 is better than 4-1-0 and 3-2… and forcing games to end is good. That’s competitive play.

@@Leroyantithesis I agree with you I do not want draws I think it goes against the spirit of sorcery. However if EC published rules for competitive that allow for draws, I support their decision to do that
