I’m not sure - they might be releasing new SEA servers with console launch but I’m not sure yet.

It’s not a major decision, might be worth just deciding on what trade skill boosts you want.

Playing PS beta rn and just got a quest reward Green Hatchet and its totally broken and OP af. Enemies HP just melts with berserk & flurry combo. Respeccing from Greatsword/Shotty ----> Hatchet/Shotty build rn.

@@Savvvo Remember there is now a targeted loot system, so what you are currently equipped with has a higher chance of dropping. RNG still plays a part so you will get other items, just not as often. If you want "light" change out pieces as fast as you can, join a faction asap and buy " light" items from the vendor. Its only important as you progress to higher levels anyway.

@@jamesmalcolm4288 this is moreso focused on actual quests with locked items (outside of the loot biases system). By choosing an archetype, you are locked in with certain quests and quest rewards throughout your leveling experience, which have specific weighted gear.

@@Savvvo As far as I was aware all the quests are the same, you just start in one of two areas, but they overlap and eventually nearer endgame they merge. I started in one area and a friend in another, eventually he came to my area, I went to his area then we finished after meeting up together.

There was a LOT of hype built up for the recent announce on the launch of console, but they hyped up the wrong audience. PC players were expecting huge game updates and new content, and in reality that didn’t really come and it didn’t meet the expectations that were built up. Regardless, the game is great and it’s worth checking out. They’ve been investing a lot on the main story quest, so everyone is hoping that means they have more time and resources for more pvp content and end game content moving forward.

Not toxic, just fed up PC players who have nothing else to moan about after 3 years. Go enjoy the game and dont worry about anyone else.

In my recommendation I would say a medium melee user. Start as “destroyer”, then adjust weapons based on what you want to do. Great axe is great for what you’re looking for, and has mechanics helpful for PvE and PvP.

Soldier (with sword and shield) as light or medium is great for 1v1 fights too.

Archetypes are not important, its a kind of red herring (focus on the available boost to trade skills instead), you can choose any weapon you want later or as you go and progress and spec to it. you will learn as you go, tons of videos you can watch from PC players, exactly the same concept on builds, skills etc.

This is not true at all - if you buy the expansion, you will automatically also get the Aeternum updates once launched in October.

Yea an in-depth transmog system and dyes. It was added a year or two after initial launch

​@@Savvvo hm.. over time you'll get the trade skills up anyway. Maybe if you want a boost your start for whatever reason. I remember some were a bit annoying to level up at the early levels. It depends a little on how many points you get but overall I don't see the boost matter too much. Ofc. everyone can do as they like :) As you said Soldier is good because Hatchet is just a great weapon for the early game especially because you get the movement speed buff. In the end it won't matter much but you can get access to that one weapon you really like immediately which is fine. It wasn't very hard the last time I started on the fresh start server. In the pirate camps and on the ships you could find all the weapons. So I don't find this change super necessary but maybe people complained that it was so hard to find weapon xyz. I kinda like to start with nothing but a stick in games. Overall I'm glad people are talking about the game again and I hope the changes and some new console players bring some life back into the game. I just played playing again a few weeks ago and still have a blast tbh.

All you really have to worry about are your attribute points, but if you kinda generalize them, there is a load out hotswap option where you can completely change your entire gear set on a whim and you can do most of your stat changes that way. I personally run a Sword and Shield with a Life Staff just like you're saying.

@@artiquisgaming3271 Yeah but its still 50 gold to respec attribute points tough. What im thinking is a system where you can make like 2 attribute setups for example and swap between them freely.

@mattanYT yeah but I made like 4k gold just running the main quests and scrapping my excess gear during the beta on my way to level 25. Gold really isn't an issue. Just balance your attributes and let the points you get from your gear do most of the work.

@@artiquisgaming3271 Yeah its deffo possible, im just saying a dual spec system would be best. Then you wouldnt have to balance attributes and be good at both but great at none and rather have 1 pure healing and 1 pure tanking spec. You also wouldnt have to manually add the attributes every time you wanted to respec like you have to now. Its just a system a lot of mmo's have that i absolutely miss in New World.

@@Savvvo thanks, but I'm looking to SEE it in action. Most games bother me because you can't truly aim a bow. It kind of auto locks and doesn't give you any reward for getting a headshot vs a foot shot.

Ohh gotcha! There’s a perk you can add to your bow that lets you deal additional damage on headshots too if you were interested! Plus it’s nice that you aren’t locked into a class, you can use a bow (or any weapon) whenever you want.

@@Savvvo good to hear! I'm a sword and shield and bow guy. Can you actually block with the shield? It annoys me when games have shields and no blocking mechanics.
