One tip: The Nightveil shield GS675 (gold pattern) comes with Refreshing Move, can roll with Refreshing and has refreshing defense if Kite. And Shield GS has no effect on actual GS. Grab these shields while you can.
I've been running this pali build since expansion came out/PTR, but with a slight variation in abilities, etc. I'm freaking addicted to it after only rapier/Vg for 2 years lol. Banger vid and explanations man!
I would say it's a great addition for healers, but for me it's surely not as fun to me. Every other melee weapon has combos with LMB, but flail is surprisingly more boring only swinging back and forth. BUT the weapon is great. That gripe is super miniscule tho since it has great abilities, so overall it's just a good weapon and I do still have fun using it!
very nice build. I'm currently using it with medium armor. my attributes are the same. In the arena it's just fun to fight right at the front and people are usually completely confused why the guy with the lifestaff runs into the opponents first 😄. I tried around with the attributes and the 100 points in strength are the most important in my opinion. without strength the attacks simply don't do any damage. I currently find Ank and I play my build on shirking heals. So I hardly need to pay attention to my life and only need to keep an eye on my team. Paladin rocks!💪💪🔥
Wow! Nice build! I was working on a medium set but didn't think about using shirking heals and ankh. Are you still using Life Staff and are the heals good enough to keep you and your team up?
@@baboonbanana99 Healing isn't actually a problem unless you have paper teammates 😅. but I don't think I could heal them even in light armor if they took a lot of damage. If you play with a good team and everyone has ankh, I might even have less concentration and more strength. But I always play alone so unfortunately I can't test it. Do you sometimes have this situation where you can't heal even though your teammate is in sight when you use shortcuts? I always have the feeling it's a bug. Even if I repeat the input nothing happens. I then have to dodge once and then it works again. what do you think of a Paladin PvP tank build with LS and "the Wall" when the shield becomes available?🤔
Yes, that situation has been happening ever since the launch of season 3. Very annoying! I think it could see some niche play in OPR, but I think Flail / VG is just infinitely better. Medium and Light seem to be the best for Flail / LS currently. The healing debuff in heavy stinks@@Preussini
I dont pvp much but i run 25int 50 str 350 focus and 150con. With round shield and lifestaff with odo. Med head and glove, featherweight and rest light. Its really strong for healing everything and with odo i reset my flail skills fast, it heals enough i can dps most expedition as the healer, gone through m2 fairly easy and minus a few fights which are geared for range more, the build just works. Loving the combo so far.
I play a very similar build in Arena (in OPR I use FeatherWeight build with Arcane Eruption instead of Trip, works better in larger battles). A couple of differences: - I use Michael with Refreshing as chosen perk. Then I have Ref. Move on the flail, instead of Enchanted, but in exchange I gain Lifestealing and healing + cleansing one debuff on block. So our builds differ in that yours deal more light/heavy attack damage, while mine has more survivability. Do you recommend me to change to your build or do you think it won't make much of a difference as I suspect? - I'm torn apart on 3rd perk on earring (apart from Healthy Toast and Ref. Toast), between Regenerating and Healing Heart: Obviously Regenerating heals more over the whole fight, but Healing Heart heals you when you need it more. Any adivce on it? BTW, I use a Tower Shield skin on my shield to confuse my enemies even more on wtf I'm playing, I recommend you to do the same. When they see a guy with the flail and the tower shield, they assume you play some kind of tank build, it takes them some time to adjust to you rolling around, dealing damage and healing :D
Haha, that's a great idea! As for the build, I think you should play around with mine and see if the damage difference is worth it - I don't think the difference will be that much though, at the end of the day. As for the 3rd perk on the earring, I am just a big regenerating fan. I'm fighting in my Sacred 80% of the time, and regenerating gets that 50% healing bonus. I do think Healing Heart has potential, and I might actually test that now that you gave me the idea! 👀
Is this Build only used in Arena or can this be used in Open World as well? Like Race or OPR. I just started out with healing and found your channel to be super helpful!
I’ve been running this build but in a medium equip load so I can front line with my company and provide heals at the same time. I can definitely say that in a medium equip load it provides an enormous amount of survivability and it does do some decent damage.
This build looks so cool! But sorry man how do you get yer attributes so high and do i just keep farming gear till i get the right stat rolls? I'm new to this game so still getting my head round things
Yeah, essentially. The higher the gear score, the more stats you get. You can get a piece of BIS essentially every 3 days with Chromatic Seals and some other items
Looking forward to use this build. But I don’t understand. U were talking about using Kite Shield all the time. But in your footage you are using Round Shield. Also, when u are recommending Kite Shield, why wouldn’t u take some medium or heavy armor pieces to stack out your weight limit more effectively. I mean u will go up to medium weight while using kite shield anyway?
Yeah, I was testing out round shield with the gameplay footage is all. Kite shield is way better. You can stay light armor by using featherweight and all light pieces w/ kite shield
DE is mandatory in any PVP game mode. It is the best single target healing ability solely due to being able to refresh its CD. If you want to run LE, you can run DE and LE together!
Great build! I been using a variation with a round shield and 1 heavy piece for more resistances and armor but if you want the CC that comes with a Kite shield, definitely go all light with feather and kite.. it's a blast,.. this is my FAVORITE build so far this season.. I usually go opt for 410 focus and 200 con though for more healing potential and due to flail scaling on focus it doesn't loose much attack power. So my build is a little more tanky and healy but VERY similar.. nice video! ... BUT I'll still argue with you till the day I stop playing that Fort Sacred Ground is better on the staff,.. but then I heal M3's as well sooo :) Also gonna try the new heartrune a little more and see how it runs.. I usually use stoneform for the instaheal and last minute save
P.S. I wish we could use Michael with this build! If it only counted as a weapon like shields do in the trading post we could and that would be awesome!
How did you get the Empress Zhou helm to get Fortifying Sacred Ground? Did it roll that way? The pieces that I have made at the kiln throw the random perk in the middle and move health to the bottom spot, and from my understanding only the bottom perk can be changed? What am I missing?
Empress Zhou gear comes with Health / Refreshing and the 3rd perk you put on it at the Kiln. I'm not sure what you're experiencing, I didn't have any issues with it
@@baboonbanana99 thanks for the reply. Gear crafting and upgrading has been so complicated since the expansion with little to no clarity from the devs. When I go to make a piece, I am choosing it under the expansion section and the only mats that it allows me to select are the Dense Mutator Materia. The perk section to the right says that I cannot make a selection.
Hey mate, nice build, thanks for the guide. I'm starting as a healer, and i really dont understand how you can survive... EVERYTHING that touch me, remove like 30% of my life, ANY control result 90% of the time in death I took the 2 monotarget heal, because in pug people are getting out of area of heal (in arena), i dont have the last perk of LS talent yet (+heal when below 50%hp). My gear is good, with shirking heal from my previous build, refreshing, even with freedom to avoid a bit the control.
You can't take a lot of hits as a light healer, learning the movement of this game is going to be your best friend! Coming out with a movement technique / guide soon
Really?! How much focus are you running? I didn't really notice the healing too much when I had it on my armor to be honest. I may have to play with it a bit more!
I run a similar build but without any shield. I figured that i dont block anyhting and just outheal it :D gives you mad armor with featherweight and im not really losing anything. In Arena you can tank all 3 ppl with 2,3 shirkin heals on. Also i was trying SoL with the extra 90percent perk on weapon. It really blends in, since u can focus on frontline and if u got a teammate far away u can always just clap, in bleed/burn meta even better. Thoughts? Ty for the build and the explanations :)
Use similar build and i enjoy it greatly, i do like the roundshield more though for that extra damage and weight i can spend on other gearslots. I still always pick orb over becon because of the shorter cd, maybe worth trying becon again.
I'm not sure which is stronger, I haven't really tested it out enough, but how do you feel between: featherweight and kite shield vs featherweight and round shield (a bit of extra armour and damage from smite) vs no shield with attuned leather pants to have more attribute points to put in str or con? I'd really love your insight because they all seem viable in my head but idk which is optimal
After playing with all of those builds, I 100% believe featherweight and kite shield is the best option. The stagger with Smite is too good. Especially with the bread and butter combo I gave!
@@baboonbanana99 yeah I figured.. I was just thinking that it could be nice with our dex groups that focus the enemy backline to provide some heals and disruption.. But I would probably need to be tankier for war and then maybe the heals would be crappy
As little time as your spend in life staff I think for this one particular build I'm not sure the refreshing divine embrace is really doing much and it might be worth have fortifying sacred ground on your staff to have another defensive perk on the armor or maybe the flail heal on vortex perk (not sure how good it is but I know its expensive so people are running it).
It works well, just not in the traditional sense. I tried doing this playstyle in clump fights and it's very hard in light armor. It's definitely better paired with a duo in OPR going out to hunt people
