I've seen a few of your videos. Came for the New World content, but forgot that you do messages of hope as well. This one really resonated with me. I was laid off from my job a year and a half ago. I've applied to over 2,000 jobs since and am still struggling to get back on my feet. Totally had my identity in my career. So lack of work and difficulty finding it means lack of identity. I needed that reminder, so thank you. I appreciate how you're using your platform to bring some hope and encouragement to your community. I'll be sticking around.
Dude that's rough, I've been hearing that software is being used to not get people in front of interviewers. I'd encourage you to try and work your personal network as best you can, or even with a recruiter that has a better feel for it. Wishing you all the best dude, don't give up.
@@gingerlovesmmos It's not that software is being used to prevent people from getting interviews. It's that there's been so many layoffs these past 2 years, especially in the tech sector, that every job posting has 100s to 1,000s of people applying within hours. Recruiters do filter their applicants, but they have to use insanely specific qualifiers to get that short list of applicants to one that's actually manageable...which then causes 99% of applicants to get auto rejected. It's a lose/lose situation on both ends since so many highly qualified applicants are getting lost in the wind. Anyways, I'm considering switching fields entirely due to the volatile nature of tech and how AI is redefining the industry. I'm just not thrilled of starting over at my age. I was in fintech before, so I'm considering switching to financial services so I wouldn't be starting from ground 0.
Very true, and so sorry that you're in this spot. Don't think of it as starting from zero, think of it as a new direction and you can still leverage your past experiences to perhaps be the best financial service provider out there. And even if that doesn't work out, you can keep trying until it does work out. The biggest success stories are stories of consistent failure but also not quitting.
Don't forget.....there A LOT of console players in the world. More people have consoles than gaming PCs. Definitely been hungry for this type of game for a long time.

And how exactly are you getting milked over a single purchase, non subscription, $60 game? Like cmon. A damn 12 pack of paper towels is like $20+. Unfortunately $60 isn't really anything in 2024.

Anxiety and depression gets thrown around way to often now days. Most people are just sad or are dealing with an event that has occurred and just jump straight into the 'I'm depressed' box when really you are just dealing with something that has happened. Normally healthy feelings are put in the 'anxiety and depressed' box far too often.

Concurrent player count stat is such a misleading stat in live service games. The most important stat in terms of a game "dying" is the monthly total player count. You can have a decreasing daily player count but increased profits due to the increasing total monthly player count.

i wish people would drop the 900k players argument. that was because of hype and no matter how good thew game was, it was never going to stay near those numbers. probably anything above 100k concurrent is really hard for a MMO. and that would still be like a 90% player loss since launch. so at best it would lose 90% of its playerbase if it was a great game without so many issues.
This game has so much potential during the first Beta, but they never fixed what players were asking for. They listened to a small base that asked for swimming, like what a joke? How do they not understand what makes an MMO good. Look at OSRS, they literally brought a 20yr old game back to life by letting players POLL and listening to what they wanted. Adding end game bossing/dungeons that players asked for.
30k concurrent on PC and every single person in chat was on console. New world is in a good state and new players are going to love it. I know a ton of people getting the gam eon console. My sons friend who don't have PC's like him are all getting it too.
I am SO WORRIED about them putting "THE MESSAGE" into the LOTR MMO.... we all saw what they turned the franchise into with the abomination they called a show. So sick and tired of "THE MESSAGE" being shoved down our throats when trying to ESCAPE and play games like we USED to be able to do, without "THE MESSAGE" being inserted. We need to stop letting DEI Hires and Activists make our video games and other entertainment. DEI = DIVISION, EFFEMINIZE, INEQUALITY
One issue I see @loganknoll is them constantly looking to "gaming journos" for their "feedback" so money is down, and the message they'll push is some form of "ism" or "phobe" is the reason why this failed, but with enough back to back failures then yes, someone who doesn't want to spend and lose 200 million will for sure take notice.
I loved the beta and viewed to try Throne and Liberty first. After playing TAL for a few days, I am so much more stoked for the full release of NWA. I can't wait!
I'm sorry, the Console players aren't going to save the game for PC players. Odds are many will go to the Console Only servers and those that don't, I seriously doubt many will join the existing servers ... they will play on fresh start servers. So basically if you've been playing the games for years and like the character you've put so much time and effort into, nothing much will change for you. Bottom line, if you are a long time player, and your existing server doesn't get an influx of new (and even some returning players), not going to your server and you can't transfer to where the new players are going, you have three choices ... 1) Keep playing on a dead server. 2) Play another game where you have to level up from level 1. 3) Roll up a new character from level 1 and play basically the same content you already played before.
Good news is that should be more of a thing of the past, as Aeternum is going to be their base game. I do agree, mounts should be added into the current base game without the need for the expansion.
I'm planning on checking this out again with the update. I really do hope this brings it back to the level of fun I had with this game when it came out
Thank you for the highlight. I took your advice to heart from yesterday and got everything I wanted done today. Took longer than I thought. Regardless, I'm feeling way better than I was yesterday. I may not be where I want to be, but thank God I am not where I used to be. I am also happy to comment that I'm debt free and my savings are currently the highest they have ever been. Whoever reads this and thinks they've hit rock bottom, know there's no where else to go, but up. As for New World Aeternum specifically, I hope the re-release helps the population for the fans out there. Thank you again. Looking forward to the next video.
First MMO that I'm actually vibing with. As a console mainly player I've always wondered how PC people play the same game for 1,2,3K hours. I think the New World beta finally made it "click" for me. Your videos have been extremely informative. So here I am subbing to my first MMO youtuber lol.
Looking forward to October 15th. May be on a road trip from the 17th to the 22nd so I won’t be able to play as much as I want to the first weekend, but that all depends on how the Cleveland Gaurdians do in play offs. If they make it to the series we won’t be going on our road trip because we may be going to a game or two of that haha. Either way, looking forward to the games rebirth and enjoying more time there when I’m not cruising around in my ship in No Man Sky.
@@gingerlovesmmos what WoW, Final Fantasy and Lineage series understand is that you have to give people interesting endgame content because at some point majority of the player base will be max level people who want to do things.
Yeah and it took those games a few years to build up that endgame content too, the thing those games do is they keep showing up and make updates to the game. You do that long enough you end up building out that endgame over time
WoW brought in a ton of investment from people wanting to replicate its success, and all they did was try and copy the game with less content (for the most part) WoW hit at the perfect time, but it's like a one hit wonder band, where they peek (in this case the genre peek) and now we see people judge the games based off of WoW's success rather than their own personal success.

I’m an Xbox player and I’m really looking forward to Oct 15. I just want that new mmorpg experience against. Starting out at nothing and questing my way up wherever I get. Very excited
My only concern is legacy servers (and therefore legacy characters) will be mostly dead since the revitalization of the game is going to come mostly from console players, which means crossplay/console servers are going to be the populated servers. Since they'll be fresh starts most of the legacy playerbase will have to choose between staying on a dead server or rolling new characters.
honestly imo New World should of gone into early access instead of "fully" releasing.... the glitches and exploits and bugs would of had a better excuse. But with just over 1700hrs ill be playing fresh start again. with all the issues the game has had i always seem to come back and cut some trees and smack some rocks. The game is fun and so pretty.
What sucks is their focus on marketing but not enough retention.... There needs to be more of a focus on keeping the player base vs getting new ones. There's only so many "new" ppl willing to join

Hey, so between work and the birth of my first child I don’t think I’ll have a lot of time to play games… that said is New World a game that I can get away with playing only like once a week or is a grind required just to keep up and enjoy the game?
The grind has been on the lighter end for me as a dad, I use GFN (geforce now) which let's me play on handheld and on all my computers which means I can realx, fish, and level on my own time and with my kids .

The new stuff and updates are all well and good but this game forever lost me and many others because they will never be releasing a SEA Server. Being able to play the game is a big factor for me - surprising I'm sure. Especially considering I played for a long time with 3-digit ping always revolving around 140-160+ms. This was playable but not optimal because I'd lose to people who played with 2 -digit ping. With how the combat is and how one wrong move can make you lose something like a duel for example, ping is a BIG factor in combat. I MIGHT consider coming back and buying the expansion if they release a SEA server but with the way things are going, it's likely I'm never coming back.
I think the gaming space needs MMOs that their players live that aren't WoW or FF14. The quotations come in where are the devs and publishers going to be okay with it not being a big deal. It'll always be closer to GW2 than it will be to WoW. Gw2 is still making money and it's largely still loved by is fans but it's not going to being in the numbers a company like Amazon would like to see. I'll jump in and check it out and probably fall off of it shortly after, but I hope those that stick with it enjoy it and the carries on for a while.
I truly believe this game will die and so will their lord of the rings mmo, they're just not "the team" but I hope I'm wrong and this comes back and the amazon lotr mmo is good, I gain much more by being wrong.
What avid full of copium. After havingnplayed the first beta and deciding its not for me, i gave it a second chance with the aeternum beza. After playing for a evening and reaching level 15ish, i saw it is still not for me, only ever pressing 3 buttons fot abilities and the unprecise movement. It does not help, that most of your talent tree for the weapons is "numbers go up"
as someone who has just turned his life over to Jesus and is a new Christian, I've struggled with addiction to video games and spending way to much time on them, it also seems to bring out the worst side of be when i play i tend to loose my temper easy. i dont want to give up playing video games all together though. any advise?
Oh dude that is a good question and here is what I would say, take it to Christ and ask him to bless your R&R time. You might need to scale back, or change the type of games you play. But say a short prayer before every game or every match and check back in a month. And if you’re seeing fruits from your gaming then keep it up, if you’re still struggling sometimes taking a break is also a really good thing. I’d encourage you to also find a good mens group and support around you to both talk games but also as a good and honest check on how your handing it.
I bet it won't last 1 month...no new content in end game to keep people playing for a long time just like it has always been. Same game, same issues, same devs. Same shit.
New world was ever a PVP focused game? AGS haven't gave us a new OPR map, Arenas still not cross server. War has big problems. and the open world PVP is still not rewarding. the pvp rewards track was trash for more than a year. AGS has no idea what kind of game they want.

If you're saying the player numbers will go down, that is exactly what will happen, if you're saying the AGS will shut down the game servers... Yeah, I think you're wrong on that account, but who knows time will tell. I haven't been wrong on it yet, so we'll see if it's just luck or if I know what I'm talking about.
And that's why I've said and continue to say that MMO health shouldn't be measured in player drops, but in does the game keep inviting players back into that experience, year over year. Thus if every October you and I get to have that conversation, like we've had over the last several years, that's the whole ballgame. If they quit then everyone loses, but if they keep going, everyone wins.

Excited for the new release. Just a note, less focus on the "message of hope". I get it, super wholesome, great thing to be doing. The issue is 90% of people do not care about it....we're here for MMO content not therapy. So keep doing it, just bring it up less, i know theres probably a bunch of super active community members telling you its amazing, its not that amazing.
Last time I played was on release & considering giving New World another go when Aeternum comes out. When I play mmos, I prefer to do some pve content, but mostly enjoy crafting, gathering & selling stuff to other players. Does New World good for that, or due to player's ability to pretty much level every skill up is it not worth that?
