So glad I found this. Have been running full bleed spear Rapier build and wanted to try IG Rapier w/light armor. Wasn't sure how ice gem with Rapier and high int would work on the tondo bleed. This is excellent content sir, great work.
Great production on this vid. The 250INT tip is good to know (prolonged bleed as DOT) I run this build on occasion, and look forward to trying your variation.
dude this guy had deadly flourish on his rapier with VG oblivion along with tondo, im a 300 con heavy full resil, they flourish and finished me when I was about 50% health in one shot.
I saw some discussions about finish: that it doesn't benefit from any empower, that it can't be buffed by new evade perk and that deadly flourish only applies to flourish and not finish. Have you tested those and can confirm as user of this? Also what about trenchant strikes (11% more dmg with grit)? If finish has grit, wouldn't that make entire part of bleeds burst stronger by 11% (or is it counted only towards 120% of finish)? Great idea for a build overall - I was exploring it couple of patches ago, back when ring was extending bleeding by 15% and gave up. But i never though that 250 INT would benefit bleed (it is not spell after all).
"Trenchant" is only fully charged heavy attacks, It's called Thwarting Strikes for the grit, and no it would not be worth just having for deadly, even if it does work, the big damage comes from finish as shown in the video I currently have a Keen Tondo/Vicious/Keenly Empowered Rapier and It's really good burst damage even if the finish damage can't crit, also Cut Flawed Aquamarines will do more damage overall than T5 Pristines will
so first this is a great build and funny video. been playing variations of this for 2 days now. I have to say my favorite so far is 150 dex 250 int 100 con with ice pylon instead of shower and pylon, sundering, and tomb perks. it's so fun 1 shotting healers who think they are safe in their little circles... I lol every time
Hey man, first of all thank you for the content you had me rolling. Adding in the Young guns clips lol Kids now days have no idea... Not a boomer but I'm old lol... To the build. I am pretty new, 200hrs in or so now. Been 60 a while. I have tried so many damn builds in OPR and I just get wrecked. Even if I manage to dodge 2-3 bruisers you got hordes more about to gravity well you. Sorry, comments can flame me but its just a lazy build. Especially when you have good gear you can make mistake after mistake and NOT get punished. With the shit talk out of the way, I love the concept of the rapier, and love the bleed tree. But not having great pvp gear and not 1k hours of PVP I was on the verge of just moving on to another game. Just seems a little out of balance when they supposedly match everyone at 600gs... yea right... This build is a lot of fun. I can actually dip in and out of the battles and practice my rotations and learn the counters of other builds cause I have a standing chance. I actually feel like I'm helping, and OOMG I laughed so hard my first kill actually on axe/warhammer. He dropped dead and i was like... wow i can get used to this. Anyways, a lot of bitching but thank you for this cause its really a great a build and starting point for people who want to learn the game/pvp in general.
how is this in brimstone sands? i find it hard a lot of times to survive to get 3 bleeds on my target but it may be just a skill issue. i am also only at 600 gs.
I am have no issues at all surviving, ice gauntlet helps with that. I don't always use a 3 bleed finish. Sometimes just 2 bleeds is all you need. I'll do an updated video soon on this build, because it's the one I continue running.
very little... i have more legendary armor... im using runestones... but the core princinpal and build is the same... however I am working on an updated video showing my latest setup with more details. Hope to have it done in the next week or so.
@@clashwithcutty7175 If using riposte (as I am) i first and foremost have sundering riposte for the rend. I'll explain this in more detail in my coming updated build video, but essentially it makes the flourish and finish deal 24% (sundering riposte on a 625) more damage if you your rend is up when you inflict the final bleed. I like vicious a lot. And for the longest time I primarly used Final Respite (keen, vicious, sundering riposte) because it is free and easy to get from Laz. But (for reasons I'll put in my next build video) I find it only necessary for one keen source. I have keen awareness on my my ring so I don't need it on my rapier. I currently use with sundering riposte, vicious, and keenly empowered. If one prefers to use evade over riposte (a very viable alternative) I would use omnidirectional evade in place of sundering riposte. I also use a frozen aquamarine runestone (not opal).
I want to run this type of build, I'm still very new to NW only being level 17 but I can use my patience and low level to take time to master this. Is this build good for pve content too or strictly PvP?
@@EdgyButtermaker that's brilliant to know thank you for the reply! Loving this game so far I wish I could play more but my work keeps me away for 14 hours a day 😂
However if you use a dex weapon with Rapier, then obviously not. But with rapier used more offensively (as opposed to how most use rapier) then your other weapon should be helpful defensively. So maybe... spear CCs? If you use a dex weapon like bow, you might do better to just play the normal defensive grace tree.
Sounds fun. Very strong offensively, my only concern would be are they both too similar offensively - is there enough defense and CC... Plus you would have to go DEX for that to work, and I really like the 250 INT bonus for blood rapier, and DEX is only the secondary damage stat for hatchet. I think it would be challenging to play for sure, but rewarding when it pops off.
@@lyroxkh I haven't fully explored this set, but I think it could be very strong. The root and the oblivion combined with the blood rapier... yeah, pretty deadly.
Began using this build myself. It's so satisfying to land a kill. Much more fun than normally landing a kill haha. How did you get that sick ring tho? Did you craft it?
bad? no... just not as strong of a perk as it is on the weapon. but you would gain another perk on the weapon in place of it so it may even out in the end.
@@EdgyButtermaker Looking forward to more vids! Love your content. I feel like this build would struggle against a couple bow users. Should I just kite and LoS? Bows and muskets seem to be strong agains this build. Thanks!
Healing tomb on my IG for survivability. Tested deadly flourish on my rapier... not worth i. The increase is only to flourish and not finish or the consumed bleed. I'm using sundering riposte on my weapon instead. That's all of the weapon perks I'm using, if you want to see all perks I do show my gear in the video.
