Great build! I like the concise breakdowns, while avoiding a super cut of your mouse displaying each gear piece in quick succession to make us pause repeatedly. Good build videos seem to be a lost art lately, well done.

Man do i love this build its so fun, thanks for the video. one thing i just cant get my head around. You seem to be able to 1vx so many guys but ig i have more then 2 on me its like instant kill. i feel like i just get hot for like 5k all the time. is it because of the onslaught stance?

Managing your stamina so you don't go exhaust and knowing when to weapon swap is key. If you get caught in onslaught stance from a CC you can swap to sword/shield to take normal damage.

Would a sword with arboreal/empowered leaping be better than shadows edge?

empowering leaping strike is ok, it will only buff the damage on the target while the low is in effect (only 3 secs). Most likely this will only buff 1 or 2 light attacks if you are quick, rarely will you get all 3 off to complete the chain or land a charged heavy. What makes shadow's edge good is you can stack vicious with rogue which is a unique combination with this sword.

Would this work for solo pve? I'm struggling to setting on a build. Most vids I come across are strongly catered to pvp nothing wrong with that it's just not my jam.

@@doomers5941 For wars you are in a flex/schizo group so your purpose is to go after backline players, healers and respawners. It is not meant to be fighting in clumps with simply because you are in light armor.

where do you get those perks you mention in the video? only with craft? I looked for drop items in the database and I didn't find it

Attunement is usually obtained by crafting however you can get an elemental attunement weapon from the weel's mutation runs. For example, if starstone is nature element both the evergreen weapon shard (used to craft) and weapons with nature attunement can drop from the mutation.

Trenchant strikes for sure. I used to run Trenchant strikes, plague strikes, attunement for big burst but also the healing debuff to combo with skyward's debuff. If you got TS, attunement and keenly empowered or keenly jagged those are also good substitutes.

I wouldn't recommend triple onslaught in medium, definitely worth picking up one of the defiant tree abilities like steadfast strike or rupture.

They removed resilient and now have crit reduction worked into each armor type. Hover over the armor weight on your character sheet to see what each type provides.

Any armor weight is good with greatsword it just changes up your mobility and stamina efficiency. I prefer light but medium builds are also very solid.

@@Krotha greatsword crit multiplier is 1.25 at 625. Most builds in pvp will have 35% crit reduction from resilient and 150 con. 125% weapon damage + 12% from vicious is 137% dmg. Subtract the 35% crit reduction and you are doing 102% weapon damage per crit. Since majority of greatsword damage is heavy attacks, you are far better off going with trenchant strikes and no keen. This makes your non crit heavy attacks do 120%.

@@bonesCD Assuming you land the heavy attacks. Idk where you get 125% weapon dmg, but in order to buff crosscut, the skyward slash AOE, and the relentless rush abilities you want vicious and critical damage to overpower player's crit resistance. If I was smacking a dummy standing still I would agree that trenchant strikes is the way to go with attunement to increase base damage, but the majority of hits you will land will come from your abilities and light attacks to trigger the armor snare. RARELY will I wind up multiple heavy attacks to get the chain 150% and 170% wpn dmg hits.

@@Krotha 1.25 crit multiplier. 100% weapon damage x 1.25 = 125% weapon damage. If you crit with your ability you are only getting 2% more damage than what you would get if you didn’t crit. That’s why you run no crit chance on your weapon or ring. Imo running 2-3 perks of crit chance and crit damage for 2% damage is not worth it. However, I see your point and by running crit chance and vicious you make it so non crits and crits always have at least 100% weapon damage. Great build video, you are a beast.

@@bonesCD Crit on a greatsword is less for damage and more to proc critical comeback for extra stam and the 25% max HP healing dot. If mobility is done correctly you will hit the target in the back which is 100% crit chance. Keen awareness just gives you a leg up in fighting someone chest to chest so that you can sustain yourself in the fight more. Burst is always king in PvP no matter how you achieve this. 2% may not seem like a lot but when you are in tune with your character 2% increase in anything feels big!!!

Same abilities. I am phasing out the shirking fort gear for elemental aversion. Removed fortified shieldrush from shield and went back to my enchanted/keenly jagged/sturdy round shield with champion sword.

@@Krotha it's a big adjustment, I guarantee you'll end up with a higher kill count but you're more vulnerable for sure and have to play different. I was super frustrated after the brimstone patch because ligh and 150 con I was getting wiped, but I've worked through it, just needed to tweak some perks like dropping freedom from 4 to 2 and dropping shirking energy for 5 shirking fort plus weapon perks
