Great insight as usual! Looking forward to more animation adjustments in the future, I think those can massively improve the feel and usability of many abilities and I really like the way this was executed especially on Whirling Blade! Next weapon: 🗡🗡
For a Necromancer or druid kind of play, Summon Staff ( Bear, wolfs, skeletons etc...) Most realistic would be a brass knuckles i guess, would be funny to use. Thanks for the video guys!
I really want to see Pistols in the game and possible being paired with a shield. I think it is a really cool combo to have that I wish more games would do.
I'm hearing a LOT of feedback from the community for a flail/mace type to be used with shield and/or as a healing implementation. There is some desire for two-handed daggers as well.
I’d like to see Dagger, specifically Dual Wield daggers with one tree focused on damage and sneak attack and the other on stealth and infiltration. And while a bigger change, I’d like Shield split out into its own weapon tree. able to be paired with any 1H weapon like Sword (for current SnS) but also allows adding new 1H weapons like Mace to be used with a Shield.
I want to see a Bard weapon. Something that's strictly buffs/debuffs with maybe some small heals or cleanses. And ability that can remove CC on a player and maybe an aura that reduces CC duration would be amazing too.
Arcane - Wand Lightning - Taser (lol jk) Tomb And ofc the most requested - Daggers But huge great update and these changes. Sns/gs players will be upset but that change is needed bc it was just too strong. Thank you!
Would love to see a Warbanner (like the corrupted romans have) - providing buffs and debuffs to those nearby and giving some versatility to the tank/heal builds
I want to see dual wield daggers, I think it would be super cool if you had an assassin tree, that focuses on quick damage and DoTs, and maybe a more tool-based tree, maybe have a cloaking move, or a tripwire you can set, like musket, that knocks an opponent down instead of rooting, maybe a mini crossbow as well. Idk I'm just spit Ballin but it would be really cool!
Hey, Musket guy here: Couple things I liked: I love that Powder Burn and Power shot have no animation anymore, It's instant and swappable as it should be. While it isn't quite a very big difference in over all gameplay, because you could just start the animation right after a normal shot and it would have the same reload time anyways, it definitely helps reduce and any mistakes causing wasted time in-between shots which I love. Also the fact that they can be loaded mid shooter stance is really cool and might add for some viability for close range SS plays. However this feature in particular is a great buff for the PvE aspect of musket. This allows for much more efficient CD management due to being able to load those shots while in SS instead of having 3-4s of wasted time on those CDs because you're stuck in SS. I personally will make use of this when fighting Invasion bosses and skulls with the "Called Shot Resupply" perk that shaves 10% off CDs on headshot. I Think this really allows for that chain auto reload synergy with critical reload that makes Allows the musket to weave special shots boosting the damage against large targets alot. I would also love for Stopping power to be used in Shooter Stance aswell to increase that fire rate even faster against large hitbox enemies, even tho this may be risky in PVP situations. It's the muskets only stun and can be really helpful in PvE to just get a few more seconds of DPS before that enemy knocks you out of it. Couple things I was Disappointed in: I was super excited with the new Power Shot changes to be implemented because of a certain build I had in mind that would be focused around 1 shoting lower level enemies. The plan was to get a Bane-Vorpal-Refreshing PowerShot- Musket with an Onyx for the 30% increase to full health targets, and 1 Shot enemies in shooter stances, and Spam Power Shot with instant Cooldown to clear certain area's of mobs very fast in lower level areas. Unfortunately whether it's a bug or intended, Refreshing Power Shot does not proc if the enemy was killed from it while in Shooter's Stance. So I was super disappointed that even in lower levels musket is skill the worst option for PvE. On the same note of the Specials shots having no animation, I actually kind of see this as a nerf to musket... It's always been known that musket can pre-load special shots to have that opening advantage in 1v1 encounters. I do like the changes, because they feel really nice and smooth, however, I don't know if I'd trade that for the ability to preload my shots before a battle. For musket to get a Pseudo nerf like this just kind of feels like we can't get a buff because you guys are too scared to trigger the wrath of all the musket haters. I don't think it's fair to kick musket in the dirt again and again like this just to appease those who are over reacting about a weapon that is absolutely no threat to anyone anymore. Overall I like the changes and I won't complain about the love for musket. However, if I'm being completely honest this feels to me like getting my car stolen and 4 months later the thief decided that I should have my Keychain back because he feels sorry for me. I'll make a suggestion that I've made on the forums again. Reduce the maximum range of the musket by half (60m) for PvP and return the accuracy. Another buff could be to actually make Steady hand 100% accurate instead of still being unreliable as it is right now, and reduce the Cooldown to 1s or even .5s. If you do the math a 1s CD on stead hand is still only 75% of the actual dps that musket was doing before, WITHOUT the damage falloff being added from S1. It would have similar Damage Fall Off as the bow with a 1s CD closing in around 50%. Anyways just some feedback from your nonexistent musket community. Stay invisible out there guys :D Thx
Can we get a reroll system if the 3rd perk on your gear or weapon is not that good? I think that it's a great idea or a way to gamble for another perk.
Daggers pls. Daggers is what everyone wants since it was mentioned like a year ago. Another weapon which I would be excited to see is Katana. Could release in pair with japanese styled zone (expansion). But thats a long term idea I guess. Btw great work as always
It got a dmg nerf to it when they slowed down the attack speed of the Onslaught buff. Not to say it doesn't need more, but you can't say it didn't get one until now. Personally, I think they should speed the attack back up (just because it feels much more fluid the way it was) and reduce the base damage even further to compensate.
@@philwaugh9095 True, isn't it like 16k dps compaired to like 13k? But to be fair thats single target... Great sword has INSANE Aoe cappability in terms of PvE, and even i'd say decent Aoe in PvP, but also still great single target damage. Again playing broken weapons in fun but like... What I usually say is this "A weapon not being good in every game mode isn't bad, But when it's good in no game modes, thats a problem." So I mean the same can be said for Greatsword it's amazing in PvP AND PvE, so personally I think it needs not neccecarily a flat damage reduction but perhaps the AoE needs to be tuned down a bit. It needs to be more neiche, which I know sucks, but it can't be god forever man.
@@devonrandall3149 It's swing isn't significantly wider than the a GA. It's single AOE is no larger than say a Grav Well. Make the swing be the same size as the GA? Sure. Sounds fair. The only reason I say take the base damage down to is to allow for the return of the original attack speed in Onslaught mode. For feel purposes, not damage. As for the "good at some things but not all is fine" I get. To which I state - GS isn't top in any more. It just isn't. If it were "god mode" it's all you would see on the field, but it isn't. Not even close. I say it needs a small down tune, not a large "OMG it's so OP, God Mode weapon" reactions. I don't see you asking for every other weapon to be made a niche weapon...
As someone else said earlier, a spellbook would be so cool, or a scythe, either of those could be used to fit the aesthetic of a necromancer. However, I feel like those would need to have really flashy animations to fully capture the feel of playing a class like that. If that's too much, i guess a katana or some type of fist weapon would be cool. Game has way too much potential, I really hope you all stick with the game and get it to where it can be, thank you for all the work and listening to community feedback!
Upset with GS nerf considering a bow and fs do the same amount of damage but at range. GS you are taking a lot more damage and requires higher skill to perform well with.
ID love daggers, or some other melee alternative that is dex based that would combo better with bow or musket, or even with rapier. However, I think we need focus love more. Maybe the Flail or mace and shield that we assume is coming (hope instead of healing it centers around fortify/buffs to allies). Maybe str/focus, or foc/str.
8:25 I'd love to have a summoner type weapon which uses Focus (to pair with Life Staff/Void Gauntlet). You could either summon plants to help with a Healing AOE/ Healing Over Time or could summon little minions to help with some DPS or draw aggro for solo content etc. That would be awesome
The concept of stances is nice on the greatsword, would love to explore it further. Maybe a flail where you can be more offensive and has a bit of range, and then you can switch to defense where the range is smaller.
We need Daggers, also ability to dual wielding for 1 handed weapons, besides we have extra empty slot for dual wielding. Shield slot is suitable for it right? 🤯
It rly will be great to see the STR (only one stat) long range weapon like crossbow. Strong dmg on a long distance but not very useful in close range. It will be cool to have a STR rang weapon for those who prefer style switching between distance. Second variant: adding hammer to combination hammer/shield for STR/FOCUS builds where it be mid range dmg weapon that could be combined with something supportive or more aggressive.
Rally banner/war Banner concept as a weapon would be super unique. Providing "shouts" our aura buffs for teammates, maybe slamming it into the ground and having it produce debuffs around it.
Great video and looking forward to these changes. All of them sound great so far! I agree with the masses here, I'd love to see duel wielded daggers! I'm kind of tired of the constant dex meta but maaaaan that would be a cool weapon to see on the field
How about unique skill,its like if you run : -fs+ig = fire storm/tornado -bow+rapier = blink -ga+wh = path of gravity -hatchet+spear = bomber jevelin Etc😅
weapon two handed shield : inflicts little damage which would be based on stamina with skills focused on taking aggro and support with buffs for the team
Ya know, something that would be cool is having a scythe and ice picks and the ice picks do little damage but swings fast and if the scythe had like a life drain called "Soul Steal" and it heals you bit by bit
I'd love to see Halberd with stances, 2h crossbow, 1h mace and shield For magic weapon: Earth staff (tank weapon), Water scepter (healing weapon), Air/lightning melee gauntlet :)
AGS: dodging just trumps blocking as an option so we want to make blocking more viable. Also AGS: makes kite shields heal 300 hp on a block and makes 5 shirking heals heal 1250 hp plus 7.5% MAX HP on a dodge.
JUST ADD A PROPER ARENA MODE (1v1) ALREADY. Sooo f tired of endless queues and random teams... You don't even have to work on it, just remove 2 bots from both teams - and the new mode is ready. Is it so impossible? Come on...
We need more magic weapons, whether that is a staff or another gauntlet, magic just isn't as cool as melee and it needs to be improved with variety. As for what kind of magic? I think a Corruption magic weapon would be cool, sort of like blood magic or Necromancy in other games. Things like undead minions, curses, and hexes, that damage based on control (ie. when a cursed player attacks they damage themselves or their allies) or maybe Nature/Angry Earth magic that has slows and roots and control enemy movement while giving allies buffs. I think these would give roles and abilities that are currently missing in New World and would benefit the depth of gameplay and add new mechanics.
I’d love to see a weapon that compliments the void gauntlet via focus but provides mobility. If void gauntlet is the primary weapon (voidblade) there is a sacrifice to mobility with complimentary weapons. Flail with shield using some type of charge would be cool. Thanks!
I would like to see spellbook or a wand. And an ability that can summon a healing or buffing pylon. That can create and anchor point. Would be a cool replacement for sacred ground and lifestaff. Because right now as a healer I dont even feel like one. I feel like the game does the healing for me.
I would love to see as a new weapon a WHIP like in CASTLEVANIA. Some mid range damage , pull enemies or push back , can be use as a focus but more for fast dps
Lightning staff IS needed to be add 100%. It all make sense in the game. Next is Mace, or knuckles for Monk type build for lifestaff users, make more flexible for lifestaff users to play. Please RE-work the moveset attacks of other melee weapons, ex. spear light atk are so BLAND compare to the moveset of the spear mobs on imp, adding these changes makes more a bit fun to use the flexibility of the weapons.
I would love to see a lightning weapon like a mace that can utilize a shield. I think we are due for another weapon that can take advantage of a shield and this would be a cool addition. Also, just saying, would be REALLY cool if it was a support focused weapon. Melee range healing and protection? Yes please!
If you want underused abilities to be contenders, I would strongly suggest adding better variety as it comes to gear bonuses that change or add to the way abilities work. Give them unique spins so that they have special uses, even if they might be a big more niche. Right now thereis close to no choices, only one or maybe 2 possible bonuses for each ability.
GS has an ability that when it's being executed, they take no damage. It's also has large damage output. I don't see a similar ability on other melee weapons. In melee vs melee combat this seems nearly impossible to counter/recover. This should likely be nerfed. Not sure if they mentioned this in the video, didn't seem like it to me.
Crossbow for Power, a Nature Staff or Gauntlet on Intelligenz with Earthy and Planty Magic, an Arcane ... Fokus - Staff - Gauntlet, and a Lighning, Staff - Hammer ? - Gauntlet
A support weapon that's more proactive instead of reactive like lifestaff. I'd like a close range magic weapon would be pretty cool, like lightning boxing gloves (or rings) lol. It's tough to want daggers because there's already a lot of hit and run playstyle. Maybe a more dot oriented weapon playstyle with dagger. Gives us a reason to want vigor. Would LOVE a buff weapon like a flute or harp too. Give the melees someone to protect.
Thanks for informative video once again. Ability changes reminds that last weapon point on Life Staff tree: Magnify -" When you heal a target with Light's Embrace, extend the duration of life staff buffs on that target by 2 seconds", could use somekind or rework, i never have seen any usage of this on my own play or anyone else using it 🤔 Magic book, grimoire, would be cool. Buffing/Debuffing or Healing weapon, or both?!
agreed, but only if they are dual wield. Single pistol is meh (unless you can pair it with a non-tower shield), and a single dagger would just be a joke.
Stamina Regen is out of control atm. I'm sure devs are fully aware that in pvp for example you can have a tank shield up, get near fully drained of stam, sidestep, get it all back. rinse/repeat. zero risk play. On the other side of the coin, you then have dex players who never seem to run out of dodges / s with a mixture of 150 dex bonus and other skill tree perks. I would love to see Stamina become something you use intelligently (on par with health management).
I would like to see a artificer type weapon. Like grenades or moltov. So that we can have it as a buff class that can throw barrier or heal mixtures. It can be short range like the blunderbuss
I want to see another main healing weapon. It feels like there's not really any choices within a play style. There's really only 2 or 3 weapons for a given types you don't have much choice. I think the game needs about double the weapons it currently has.
You are correct dodging just trumps blocking as an option. So you know longer have to wonder why heavy armor is so much less used than medium and light armor sets. Any future plans in this regard ? And I am asking this as both a PvP and PvE question. Feel free to comment.
In F L .. what will happen with the status achieved? Will it be distributed in a city that is not at 300? Will it be a gray area and will that status be lost? If it is lost .. they should let that xp take it to a desired area. to be able to select the points to choose again
I know there are plans for a focus weapon coming and we don't have any idea what it will be yet but i'd really like to see a Focused based DPS weapon that heals as an effect of doing damage so that the more dps is done the more healing can be provided. Dual wielding some of our 1 handed weapons would be really cool too, especially if the trees are "locked" so that your main hand sword can only have the left (or right) tree capstone and the reverse for the off hand.
Would love a flail that's like a whip but with a spiked ball of sorts on the end. Now, I realise I just described what a flail is, but a longer chain where the spiked ball is almost on the floor and you can almost crack it like a whip (but with a bit more heft) would be awesome. Would love to be able to pair this with a shield (and other weapons with a shield). In particular a 1 handed spear that I could pair with a shield would be very nice. Lightning staff/wand/gauntlet(s) are also very cool. Okay, I'm done...for now.
Daggers! A quick dexterity based stealth/cloaking/trickster playstyle is what is missing completely and it would have great potential to synergize well with other weapons
