Ok back for round 2. In our last video we compared Harbor Freights Icon 8” Pliers with Knipex’s TwinGrips. Feel free to go back and review their info and stats. Now there is a new competitor and it more alike than you might think possible. Let’s test them out and see if it’s better or just a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

I own the icons, I've used them a few times, and they seem to be well made. Can't complain for the price point and lifetime warranty. HF has really really stepped up their game.

@@El_Famous_W01f I agree ☝️ n some items but their icon ratchets have taken a step back. Typical HF fashion. I did a wider on their flawed ratchets.

@@ThingsMen I do have all the HF Icon copy-cat pliers on 25% off coupons and I do like them. I also have all the original real brands (Snap-on/Knepex/Matco) these pliers were based on.

I bought a pair of pliers off of Temu and they actually showed a picture of Knipex pliers, I knew that was not what I was going to get. They are a little crude like those but they do work just not as well as others. Thanks for the comparison

Temu $13 . Perfect for junk drawer tools in the kitchen. 😊 I don’t own the icon so I can’t speak for them but I do have a couple of the twin grips and I’ve been very happy with them. When the Woufan wouldn’t grip the screw head and suffered minor damage that was enough for me. 👍

knipex twin grips have saved me so many times. Probably the best pair of pliers I ever bought.

Yea based on how they performed they didn’t hold up great. Better to grab Knipex or Icon instead. 👍🏻

And what if the spring breaks, if the screw breaks, or the transmission tooth breaks, the plastic on the handles peels off... don't talk about it... I don't have enough money to afford cheap tools... I only buy Knipex and nothing else, because I don't have time to deal with shit.

I bought a pair of those Icons for work and one day i used them to unscrew a stripped out titanium countersink screw fastner and they grabbed it and unscrewed it, the teeth held up also no damage what so ever! Glad i bought em

SK has an interesting set of pliers like these. Look similar but I think the jaw is a little different. Great video and thanks for sharing.

SK sold out to China. It is now owned by the Chinese state. Pure trash. Their tools are cheaper than HF Icon tools, so that should tell you something.
