Price of SSD storage dropped dramatically, it's not really that much of a deal. They could've sold it with 2TB at launch price, but they also gotta make profit.

I need not 1tb for series s. I need a feature, where if u use external blu ray disk, u can extract files between disk and series s, while saves are saved on console. Honestly, it would be cool. Also having yuzu,rpcs3 and cemu on xbox is cool
my exact thoughts but they added $50 to it but i got mine on presale/preorder and i spent $100 more and whenever i heard this was coming out i knew that they were money hungry as fuck even more than before
I have a bigger and different problem, whenever i use the ''Ready to Start'' option for cold war on series X, it asks me to pay up more money, then a useless upgrade.

Well, the chips werent as cheap as they are now. Just look at 4tb nvme drives, when the s launched those were over 500 bucks. Now they cost 280 or less. That savings goes down the latter. It makes sense.
Technology is deflationary. The xbox 360 launch with 20gb hardrive if you got the pro model and it ended with what, 500gb, consuming less power, with more functions like built-in wifi, and costing less. The fact that they are charging an extra $50 for this shows how crazy inflation is now.
Selling a digital only console with only a 500gb or even a 1tb hard drive is such a joke lol, with the game file sizes now days a 500gb is going to be over halfway full after just downloading the new call of duty warzone lol! Will never understand why anyone would buy an all digital console with no disc drive just the dumbest consoles ever made in my opinion! The only time I ever get a digital game is if there is no physical copy of said game otherwise I refuse to get digital games and only buy physical copies and I’m the same way with movies too. And not to mention you can’t play any old backwards compatible Xbox or 360 games you may have on a digital console, can’t watch movies on it and use it as a 4K player, and if developers ever decide to take a game off the digital store it’s just gone forever they can’t come to my house and take a physical disc back from me! All digital is NOT the way, keep physical media alive!!!!!!
1. Who watches DVDs anymore use an APK. 2. What games are you downloading for 50 GB. My biggest game is COD Warzone and it's like 100 GB on the series s ( which btw has 30% smaller games in terms of storage space than the series x and PS5). 3. Not everyone has old Xbox games they wanna play. 4. Contracts say they can't just take away your games if you bought them. 5. Digital is much easier. Personally I get physical just because it's natural to me but digital is arguably better. 6. Series s is actually tiny because there's no disk drive and can easily fit anywhere. 7. 1 tb can fit like 10 to 20 normal modern games.
No actually they couldn't, it would've costed more back then, that's why they do it later, as technology advances they can make the consoles a bit cheaper as the fabrication costs get lower, and to not decrease the price they add slightly better features so they can still charge the same
My biggest question is why did they not add a f****** disk drive to the lower priced console there are still plenty of users out there who are begging for a disk drive because they don't want to have to pay x amount of money for however many games they've already bought

No the original Xbox series s was white the new version that they just come out with is black now so now the series s is the same color as the series X
I think ultimate question… if you’re too cheap to save up an extra a hundred or two for the proper Console gen experience, don’t fucking buy the shitty cheap one. No wonder sony is killing them past 2 gens
