Tam Maria ... I totally understand what you mean regarding the name of this candle. Even though the name is absolutely outstanding, perhaps it may be a bit disjointed with the aroma profile. For me, the photograph tells more of the story: pumpkins lit with warm, cozy and comfortable golden light of the indoors on one side, and cool blue moonlight on the other side. Suggesting (for me) the contrast between the delicious comforting aromas of warm shelter, with the cool rustic aromas of the autumn countryside. Call me a geek, call me corny, call me a weirdo... but, I've always searched for a candle that would give me the same feeling I have when I listen to the tune "Spooky" by Classics IV. There's magic in that song. Growing up in the country, us kids in our adolescence spent many hours outdoors after dark wandering around the rural neighborhoods. Shopping malls and diners weren't really accessible until he had vehicles. Many a night, we'd walk from door to door gathering up our friends, taking short cuts through the pumpkin patches and apple orchards. Such an important part of my childhood happened underneath that moonlight, in the crisp evening, among the autumn aromas. "Spooky" always brings me back to those wonder years. That tune is my "Chantilly Lace", my "American Girl", my "Sweet Child O'Mine". So when you mention hayrides, pumpkin patches, bonfires, I believe I know that magical feeling you speak of. I'm always searching for my "Spooky". Hopefully one day I'll find it... or make it ;) Thank You!!!! 🌝🍂

Your vivid imagery and the indoor/outdoor contrast is fabulous - so artistically poetic. No…I wouldn’t ever call you a geek, corny or weirdo-however maybe a ‘romantic at heart’. I truly envy your ‘Norman Rockwell/Wonder Years-like’ childhood-mine was not at lovely or memorable. No wonder you love the ‘fall’ so much. I imagine you growing up experiencing life with all your ‘senses’ on overdrive - smelling, tasting, feeling, observing and listening to everything around you. Now you want to preserve these memories for instant recall. Who doesn’t love all those fantastic songs? (How I miss Axel in his prime). "Spooky" has such a cool, flirty and daring vibe to it. It’s addicting (now its stuck in my head- ha ha). What’s fascinating is how you call it your ("Chantilly Lace", my "American Girl", my "Sweet Child O'Mine"). These songs are full of beauty, passion, longing and maybe some heartbreak? So maybe it will be reminiscent of the girl who got away? What a candle it would be - I can see you pitching it like ‘Johan’ for Gevalia coffee. I’d buy it.

Everything about this candle from the aroma profile, to the photograph, to the color and images that it evokes... everything I love about "classic" Yankee Candle. I can't wait to have a full jar :)

Joff Hall ... Once again, thanks for all of this important info! I'm starting to catch on slowly how this all works. Autumn Dusk (here in the US) looks like it's possibly going to be an online exclusive. It was added to the site late last week, but no store has it in stock. I've been told by many sources that Moonbeams will officially be release in retail here on Aug 31st (although I'm sure they'll put it on the shelfs early because this date would interfere with the Halloween Preview Party). I found jars of Mulberry and Fig Delight, Vibrant Saffron but I still haven't come across Autumn Glow (reviews coming soon). I can't say for sure in this moment, but MFD smells an awful lot like Sweet Fig and Pomegranate. I'll do a side by side analysis of those two. I might be passing the flagship store in the near future. I'm sure they'll have Autumn Dusk in stock. If so, I'll review it. If my plans change, I'll simply order it online. Thanks, Joff!!

August 31st is the official release date, although it'll probably be put out on the shelf much sooner, as to not conflict with the Halloween Preview Party. I use my Columbo-like research to discover these little nuggets ;) Truth is, most Yankee Candle associates are not notified with these updates until it's time for them to put the products out on the shelf. Best way to keep yourself informed is to make friends with as many Yankee Candle managers as possible. They're always happy to share any insights. Most importantly, continually check out what's happening at your local Yankee Candle outlet (they get items months in advance sometimes), but you have to navigate and investigate on your own, as most associates at outlets don't know the value of what they have in stock. And keep an eye on EU releases and what's listed on eBay. A lot of the time people will be selling an item on eBay, not even knowing how rare the item is. Thanks!!!

BellBook &Candle ... Oh I agree... I never want to rush the seasons away. And I wasn't planning on filming all of the autumn material so early, but it's nice to get these autumn reviews done, so that when the Fall does come around I have more time for traveling and festivities. With that said, I love everything about this candle! It's "classic" Yankee Candle. I may have mentioned this to you on the LIVE stream, but I'll be doing a Christmas in July video that will cover Christmas Magic (it's simplistic, but not in a bad way 😁). So glad that you had such a positive association with Clair de Lune. The song is special for me for many reasons as well. My biggest memory while listening to the tune was one warm night in Hollywood. I was on the rooftop of an apartment I was staying in while filming a feature. Everything was going horribly with the production. Nothing was budgeted out properly. Everybody was on my back. But I had this small break that evening where I looked north, seeing the twinkle of Hollywood Blvd, but was far enough away not to hear or smell the madness of what Hollywood has become in modern day. Instead, the hills, the lights, the breeze and the great big moon told me of a Hollywood of the past. A place I dreamed of when I was a child; Walt Disney at Grauman's, Lucille Ball at the Brown Derby, Lana Turner being discovered at Schwab's Pharmacy. I may not have played Clair de Lune on my phone that night, but when I listen to that memory, I can hear play on loop. That isolated moment on the rooftop reminded me why I was there... making that movie.... working so hard.... and never taking no for an answer. The film was completed on time and under budget. It's amazing how a little encouragement, a pat on the back, can push you such a long way. Hope you had a wonderful 4th! Talk soon! 💚

You definitely have writing talent, my friend! ;-) You may not have been listening to it, but that Debussy plays perfectly in my mind when I imagine your dream of old Hollywood. All glamour, without the tawdry side of Tinseltown. I am so impressed (& proud?) that you were able to hang in there & be successful! To be honest, I'm also very glad that you got out. Coming from an acting viewpoint (just trying to get a real paying gig), & being female, colored that time & place for me. Once I left, I knew it was the right decision. There was just such a predatory feel to it, for me. Would *love* to see the scenes of the old Hwood you conjured up so well!✨

It's been promoted in the UK for awhile now, but I wasn't quite sure how or when we would get it here in the US. Don't quote me on this, but it looks like Autumn Dusk is going to be an online exclusive... or at least not introduced into retail until late August. Dazzling Red Maple is out on the shelfs as of early last week and Moonbeams on Pumpkins is scheduled for late August as well. I'll be posting me review of Dazzling Red Maple and Autumn Dusk very soon; keep your eyes open for that ;) Thanks for the heads up!!

I was afraid it was going to be an online exclusive. I like to smell candles before I buy them. Gives me a good idea of what candles to have for whatever writing or relaxation mode I'm in. BellBook &Candle ... 😁 I love that piece too, and I wish I knew where it came from, but it was given to me as a gift by my brother. His production company is called Riding Hood Motion Pictures. I gave it a light dry brush paint job... added some age to it... and some bird droppings :) But I can't say for sure where he got it. I'll ask him the next time we speak :)

David C ... I hear you David, truly. And your definitely not alone. Many candle companies, including Yankee in the past, are what I call "Set it and Forget it" candles. Meaning you really don't have to keep a close eye on them to emit a powerful thick aroma. However in modern day, the push and demand for safer and less perishable fragrance oils, additives and compounds have changed the candle world dramatically. Burning a candle, in many cases, is certainly an art form. There are so many variables to consider that incorporate both chemistry and physics. I find that most problems regarding intensity, power, carry and throw are associated with the proper height of the flame, humidity, air current in room and temperature differentiations. I rarely have a problem with Yankee Candles not performing as they should. And as far as intensity of aroma goes, I prefer to have a smooth linger on many of my fragrances (and I do believe that Yankee is conscious of varying intensities). For me, more powerful doesn't always equal "better". Example: Balsam & Cedar will ALWAYS be a powerhouse (and I love that about that candle), but Candy Corn lingers gently, working it's magic in a much more subtle way. For me, both sides of the coin are necessary. With that said, I also understand other's frustration when they desire high aromatic performance. Candle companies NEED to help their customers understand how to properly burn their products (this is NOT happening). And they need to be more forthright about explaining the intensity of each and every scent (also NOT happening). Thanks so much for bringing this up, David! It's a very important topic.

The Candle Enthusiast I agree about proper candle lighting for best scent throw, but my method of lighting has never changed as far as any brand goes, and yet Yankee has consistently performed badly with respect to throw over the past couple of years, so I stopped buying them. I do buy Autumn Leaves in the fall, because it's a tradition in my house, but it, too, doesn't have the throw it once did. They are definitely dropping the ball on scent throw, in my opinion.

So thoughtful and detailed in your explanation of how these candles perform and the thought process that the candle companies may operate on. The effort and care that you spend not only on your reviews and videos, but on each reply to all of us folks.
