Congratulations on the baby yes keep up with the track days with the G8 I would still like to Road track my G8 versus drag racing more input the better for my own set up thanks again in advance keep up the good work

Congrats man, upgrades look like they paid off. Do you use manual mode when you race? It seems to shift really slow in manual.

Justin P Thanks! I do use manual mode, and yeah the stock trans tune is kinda slow. However, when I had mine tuned, I asked to make manual mode shift a lot faster and harder. It really made a nice difference. Also, I had the tuner make the torque converter lock in 2nd gear in manual mode only. That made it behave more like a manual when it comes to throttle response and engine pull down on deceleration. For this event, I actually started in 2nd gear because of the low grip. But every event is different.

Couple questions... I missed the detail on your “front end alignment” did you do a little toe out, adjust camber? With the trans tune is it possible to have it hold all gears and do you think any trans tune would lead to premature ware?

Yes and yes! I went with 1/16th toe out in the front and 3/32 toe in with the rear. For camber, it's -1.5 front and rear. For the front, I had to use some Eibach camber bolts to get that much negative. They gave me about an extra -0.7 to dial in. I don't have camber plates, it's just the bolts with Koni cut-a-stuts and H&R springs. For the trans tune, you lost me a little there. By "hold all gears", are you referring to the torque converter (tc) locking? Because the tc locks in 3 thru 6 on the stock tune. I just had him tune it to lock second gear in manual mode only. Otherwise, in manual mode, it will hold the gears. It'll bounce off the rev limiter all day if you don't shift. As far as any premature wear with locking the tc in second gear, I did actually ask my tuner about that. He called a mechanic friend would said it shouldn't cause any issue. But, I also baby the car when I'm not autocrossing it. Haven't seen any issues.
