This is a long form video talking about the recent manual transmission swap for my 2009 Pontiac G8 GT. Feel free to skip ahead to different areas.
Some serious thanks are in order:
Travis Carraway aka Horsepower Farm - skilled tradesman, smooth operator, and wizard with all things hotrod. This absolutely would not have happened without him. It all started with me calling and saying, “I just ordered a transmission and its being shipped to your place. I have no idea what’s actually going to be in the box, but I hope its a TR6060.” And throughout the process, unlike me, he remained in good spirits and was confident it would all work out. Even when the new driveshaft fell on his head. Absolute Champion.
Adam Cooper - Constantly coming in clutch with the hot tune! One of the biggest fears in switching over from auto to manual is getting the computer/rest of the car to work right. Adam’s tune, like always, was on the money and the car fired right up and ran great with the new hardware. Adam’s typing fingers should be insured by Lloyd’s of London or something.
Dan Schultz - A man I’ve never met in person, but Dan shared so much info with me about the swap; things to do, not to do, what to look out for, etc. He’s already been down the road and he did it the hard way. His work helped us immensely. Thank you kind sir.
Greg Was and Pace Performance - The man with 10 years of experience when it comes to all the parts needed to manual swap one of these. His info and parts were crucial.
Chris with Tick Performance - When I called and explained what we were doing, he knew exactly what we needed. Chris was great to work with, got us some high quality stuff, and was willing to answer questions afterwards.
Joe LaBruzza - For lending an ear and offering some great info when we ran into driveshaft issues. Always a pilar of the G8 community!
Add another car to the small list of manual swapped G8’s. And this car likes to party.
