So a spell heavy deck with old school yogg and some elementals for tempo. Yeah this seams tier 1. That spell only mage is bad. Spot the difference? Why pay 4mana for 2 3drops? So maybe 6 minions 2 cosmic keyboard and the rest spells. That's a better idea than spell only mage what's the wincon?

​@@peshomighty5051why do you even want minions? With a card like Manufacturing Error. Its 6 mana draw 3 and discount for 9 mana. No minion can be better than that.

@@JediMIndaugas Why? Its nowhere near the lvl of annoying of something like Warrior and some other classes. At least Mage needs to build up to it, meanwhile Warrior can just 1 shot you with like 4 cards and that Hammer equiped from the previous turn: Quilboar x2 (16) -> Plate Armor (8) x2 + 6 from Hammer + Hero Power 2 = 40.

Well more Sif support like Rainbow mage isn't the best deck now... (thanks to the 3/4 discount card more than Sif but yeah)

@@shadowpriest2574Because it's dumb to just get one-shotted from hand. Yes, Warrior is also dumb, hence why people want change to Odyn too. Sif lets Mage easily one-shot people with a handful of generated cheap spells... Doing 6-8 damage with Snake Oils and 9-12 damage with Arcane Bolts... On top of all the casino nonsense throughout the game. At least Warrior has to interact with your board. You keep playing taunts and they have to remove them so they can hit face. Sif Mage just at some point in the game starts to ignore everything but your face and you can do nothing at all except wait until the inevitable Sif drop and death turn.

its gets worse when new spells are released. these kind of cards are the best when the pool is the smallest

@ExtraDip613 you might be right. Power level might be at the highest, but sometimes a certain card that pairs really well gets released. In this case, more spell support or highlander cards.

None yet, it's yet to be seen whether there will be. Even if not at launch, there's still the possibility of a minipack exclusive (plus this card should draw attention to the lack of expensive frost spells)

Well, you don't necessarily need a huge 8+ cost spell to make the elemental worthwhile. Getting 2-3 cost reduction on a Blizzard or Frost Lich Cross Stitch can still be significant.

Blizzard is back, thats all you need. Usually blizzard's biggest issue is that its all you can do that turn, a reduced one is SUPER powerful.

You think the study of the arcane is cheap? With all the relics and rare materials, not to mention the clothes (mages use some really fine cloth, they have a reputation to mantain). Research funds have been low with mage decks being low tier, so they got desperate enough to rely on luck to get powerful effects, and if it doesn't work, they'll have to try to powercreep, which would hurt their reputation.

Its been like: Use mage class for fun but dont use for competitive. Your CEO plays druid and hates mage class in ranked. Enjoy

Let's be honest, pre-packaged archetype is the most boring and retarded why of designing a card game, it's literaly giving out the answer to the test rather than letting your playerbase figure things out by themself, it severly limits the theorycrafting.

Good, hearthstone was more interesting when they just threw 10 cards at us, a few with a vague theme or synergy and said "get cooking". Nowadays half your deck is locked in by "archetype" cards, then you need to slot in you class' cards that are top tier and you have about 2 deck slots left.

​@@purpledragonofhonor2193 The theme is really cool, but as a new player that plays since festival of legends, badlands is the worse meta in the year in my opinion, and i cant really say why, it just feels unfun to play in comparison with titans and festival

i've been having lots of fun, but probably because highlander control decks were always one of my favorite deck styles

@@micahturner8297 I think my feelings come from, both in titans and festival, control combo and aggro were really good and diverse, but now you cant play control that is not warrior, cant play combo basically, because aggro is too strong in so many classes (paladin, dk, warlock, even mech rogue) i really liked love everlasting with infinite shadow spells and sargeras, but this type of value just dont work anymore
