Inspired by recent excursions around Manhattan, New York, through Times Square, the Meat Packing District and The High Line, UK Cityscape Artist Paul Kenton tackles a giant canvas in his studio.

I’ve been drawing, painting, sketching, doodling, etc all my life. Tattooing is something new to me, doing it the legitimate way. This just inspires me to see if i can create something to this. I’ve never thought about tossing paint on a canvas to mold it afterwards.

I love how you can look at the painting up close, and it feels like an abstract work, but then even you step back and take the whole thing in, it’s clearly a representational work. Somehow perfectly captures the chaotic bustle of New York. Absolutely stunning.

Love, love, love! I feel like Paul’s techniques and artwork are a perfect reflection of a perfectly imperfect and beautiful city. A melting pot of bit of chaos, lots of color, and many small touches that come together to form something mesmerizing.
