Like many of my fellow commentators, I too am blown away by the exciting work of George Rouy. I'm getting a DeKooning meets Bacon vibe from his work and agree that the work feels immediate and compelling as though the painting itself is daring you to look away. Please let at least part of the discussion be about the actual artworks. For example, the Pittman work leaves me confused as to what I am looking at. To my eyes it has the density of collage that would be difficult to do by hand and much easier to do with computer tools. As they say - and I agree- “it’s all good.” Still the artist’s commitment to the work influences the meaning of the work.

2nd set of paintings look like tapestries. Last artist was very Francis Bacon. The other three artists, meh. You do a great job of being objective which is something I can't do.
