I really like this guy's vibes! I lived myself in a small apartment for almost 6 years and i can tell he has done his research. Murphy bed is a huge solution.
When I was a kid, me and my family could easily afford to have a good size 2 bedroom apartment in Brooklyn. Now neither me nor my folks could afford to even pay for your place. These numbers have gotten really out of control.
I moved to Nowhere-people-want-to-be-if-given-a-choice Florida and even the housing here has gotten out of control; This is is just one of a dozen things getting endlessly complex for the future, it genuine freaking insanity.
Thank you so much for sharing! I miss living in NYC. I rented a room for $600 from a little old lady in Brooklyn when I lived there, so an apartment like yours would’ve been ideal for me. I love the idea of not having a roommate or having to share a bathroom. This was a wonderful tour. Thank you for letting us live vicariously through your experience.
Beautiful apartment! Great use of space - love how you were able to find so many ways to keep your space and yet be so amazing with the items you chose for design and purpose! (Love the chalkboard folding desk! 😍)Thank you for sharing and inviting us in! 😊 Love it! ❤️ (Oh and the outside view is absolutely breathtaking - I can see why you chose that neighborhood!) Stay blessed!
People just don’t understand how epic that neighborhood is. I would definitely leave jersey and do the same thing if I didn’t have this teenage son of mine eating all of my food. 🤣! I Love your spot🤸🏽♀️
At first I was like cute space, nice clean kitchen and gaming setup. Oh then he had me sold once I saw Toothless on the windowsill. But I am sure I fell in love with him once he mentioned Harry Potter. ❤️❤️
Californian here. The tall ceilings, natural light, private bathroom, storage and location @ $1500/mo is worth every cent! Love how you implement double duty furnishings!
Creative, stylish use of your space. I've lived in Manhattan luxury apartments and cheese hole studios in Queens and I must say -- great job. You're making things happen for yourself-- well done you, kid!
Outstanding apartment. Awesome organization and apartment floor plan. Older apartments have great character even with their quirkiness. Excellent apartment and neighborhood tour.
Omg! You did a crazy job on this studio! Are you a interior designer? How you utilize every space and transform for each use is just amazing. How you transform the room each time makes the place look bigger than 160sq ft. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I’m a Brooklynite. I left NY 15 years ago because it was getting too expensive to live there. I moved to the south. I pay $750 per month for a 4 bedroom house. Yep! $750 per month for all of those bedrooms & nice front yard and backyard. For $1,500 a month, that’s a mortgage for a 5 to 6 bedroom, 5 bath house here in the south. NYC highway robbery I don’t care what shops or view you have. Think of your future. Can you actually save money for your future living there?
I used to live in NYC and made a huge decision to move and I now pay 715 a month for a 750 sq ft 1 bedroom. I just couldn't sacrifice comfort for location because I'm such a homebody. I paid 700 just for a room
I love all your storage solutions! I also have a Murphy bed, but haven’t made enough use of the storage above it. love the low profile sofa, it looks so relaxing!
I love my hometown NYC ,Yes the apartment are small and expensive but amazing view and location of Manhattan. There is so many things to do and see in NYC ,thank you for sharing your video.
There is something very comforting about living in a small place. It's fun using your imagination in utilizing space and just making it down-right-cozy. For myself, it can give me a better sense of security and contentment as opposed to living in a larger place where you feel totally lost or exposed and vulnerable.... in a sense. I've lived in large and small but I still prefer smaller spaces. This guy has a knack for making a place a home....no matter what the size...that's what counts.
You did such an amazing job with this place. Wow. It would also be helpful if you would put links to some of the items in your place in the description box. -like the swivel mirror, the storage system, the Keurig, etc.
I also live in NYC and in a studio apt. You made the best of the space, living in a studio has taught me what I don’t need and I’m more tidy. It’s your space, love it.
Totally thought he would say rent was $900 or less, and that's why he stays there. Ive seen better spaces for that price. Glad you're making it work. I couldn't. But at least you have your own bathroom!!!
I just moved into a studio and I thought it was small at just over 800 sq. ft.! Accustommed to 2 bd/2 bath, but downsizing as a senior! I was looking for ideas and you confirmed what others have suggested, keeping things small and low to the ground! My lamps are even skinny, but still have a big screen TV! I'm afraid to say my foyer and 3 storage closets are bigger than your entire apt.! ;-)
Omg! I love it! I too was like omg he sleeps on that palette and you pulled out the real bed! I love the use of space. You did a phenomenal job! I want to actually move in that apartment!
Damn you made me homesick. I grew up in that area. I used to walk through around there everyday. I love it peacefulness there. Summer evenings just sitting on the bench looking at the sun set and skyline, ppl watching. Even the noise from the bqe underneath doesn't distract from the beauty. Don't forget walking over the Brooklyn Bridge. 😊
Azzzz you can see, here is the sugar for my coffee, the spoon I use to stir it with... because everyone knows, coffee won't stir itself" ... 🤣 He totally didn't say that but yep, heard it b4. 😂 I suppose if your staring at the same stuff everyday you might as well be proud of it?
You definitely utilize your space to its Maximum possibilities. No question. Great job/ideas!! Impressed!! And yes ,it is a lovely area, no question. But, 1500.00?? NO way I would pay that for such a tiny space. I could rent an entire house for that amount where I live. But, that's N.Y. For ya. Great video. Thanks for sharing. 😊
When I was a kid in the city, we lived on the ground floor and didn’t have a dumbwaiter. My friends parents and relatives on upper floors added shelves to their dumbwaiters and created extra storage. I thought it was so cool.
Loved the video and your micro apt. You did an excellent job making it your home. My studio rent in LA is high too, but I’m happy to be in LA. And you are happy to be in nyc. Enjoy it!
Cute lil apartment and loved how you expressed yourself showing it off. You're such a cutie as well I must say... you made me feel homesick for my hometown of San Francisco, CA. I also lived in a small apartment but was much bigger than yours and the price was cheaper in the city. However this was back in early 2000. Anyway I wish you all the best, and please stay safe honey.
Woooow, what a great use of space! You really have an eye for design and organization. I'm so happy you have a Murphy bed, I was really worried you were gonna say you sleep on the deconstructed couch cushions. Phew! ps- where did you get that tiny AC unit? I have a massive one that takes up most of my closet during the winter, this tiny one would be a lot easier to store.
Really like your attitude and the way you have your apartment set up. It may be small, but you can make any place a home with imagination & an eye for detail.
Tiny living doesn’t get any smaller! A very well laid out studio that makes efficient use of the space. Way, its laid out, it doesn’t feel like a closet and it’s cute! A sweet little bachelor pad.
Oh wow! This is a minimalist heaven! That’s Such a good use of that space and every area is utilize, not to mention that part of Brooklyn is to die for! I was wondering where the bed was but that’s genius... and that table 👌🏾 that price honestly is not bad at all to be living alone In NYC in that area. You definetly found a good spot.
I think a prison cell is bigger. The Murphy bed is a great solution and at least you have a bathroom. I’ve seen a couple micro apartment videos where they had to share a bathroom out in the hallway with others.
That is a GREAT bed storage , I thought the two seats were the bed. This is too small an apartment for me but you have maximised so much , bloody well done to you Im very impressed!!!!!!
Shout out from montreal, love your space, the Murphy bed, that was a surprise, and the Keurig coffee maker, didn't know they made them that small I want one lol, thanks for sharing.
Nice set up. And the table is a great desk too. Knew you had a Murphy bed. Thought this was going to be one of those videos where they say apartment tour but is only a closet with four walls. You know the ones with no kitchen (or semblance of one) and a bathroom on the floor shared with others. Those aren't apartments. An apartment means self contained unit not room with four walls. You have created a masterpiece for tiny living and an air conditioner to boot. Only two things missing. European style washer/dryer and dishwasher (you can get a countertop one). I'm sure you could find space! We'll done mate!
1500.... you can get triple size if not more for a house in other states. And you have same amenities if not more. But you are on your own and making it. That is totally awesome. You are amazing to make it in NY. Just keep in mind to save money and money to invest or just put aside. Check out other states and housing etc. You could be very profitable with the money you would save.
Really nice set up. The ingenuity is remarkable. Also a reminder why I can no longer live in Brooklyn. $1500 for a space smaller than my bathroom in Charlotte. I miss my city, but not those prices.
Nice apartment it's great for one person you have everything planned out lots of great ideas also you have convenience around you stores delis everything so it's a good price I think and having a grocery store right next door that's the Plus
If this is the ideal neighborhood for you and since you're basically a minimalist who hasn't collected a whole lot of "stuff", it's a good apartment for you. I'm guessing that you eat out or do takeout a lot, and that your entertaining is limited to one at a time, and until your lifestyle changes (which it will) you don't need more space. Enjoy the proximity to the things you enjoy and save your pennies, and when the time comes when you need a larger place you can afford it. When I saw the title of this video I doubted that 160 square feet could be livable, but it is!
You did a great job putting everything together in your apartment. And your location where you live is fantastic. And yes definitely for where you live and the convenience of the stores and all. It's worth 1500.00.
