New York Giants vs Chicago Bears 1992 MNF Week 3

Game needed to be re-posted because of audio/video sync problems. It's not perfect, but pretty close. After two frustrating losses at home to start the season, the Giants will try to win one on the road against Chicago. Some real concerns coming into this game for both teams.

In week 2 the giants almost had an amazing comeback vs Dallas and it carried over into this game. The talent was still there, the giants just needed a good HC

Handley wasn’t awful. They needed a good defensive coordinator
@allstarchris1
@allstarchris1 3 года назад
@@timotundy Handley was awful. He couldn't make up his mind on who he wanted to start at QB, Simms or Hosteler. Simms should have started the 1991 season, Hos was good but he wasn't a QB that could carry a team for a long period of time. He was a typical back up QB, come in and win you some games until your starting QB comes back.

@@allstarchris1 Yup, and this squad had plenty of potential if Parcells had been 10 years younger and healthy they would have won 10+ games in that window as always.

Lawrence Taylor and Mike Singletary were the two fearsome linebackers in this era.
@EdsterIII

Being a life-long Green Bay Packers fan, I can truly say that Mike Singletary was one of the biggest Packers crushers ever! I remember those camera shots or angles that came from behind the offense. You could see Mike Singletary's 👀EYES👀 glaring over the line. He had a fierce look. Actually INTENSE is better I think. He was an incredible player! I may be a Packers fan but the Bears had some ICONS or ICONIC players back then. Two of the best to play the game. Walter "Sweetness" Payton and Mike "Mr.Intensity" Singletary. These were two PHENOMENAL ATHLETES! Both were loyal team members and had great Leadership skills! Both are definitely Hall of Famers and none more deserving!

In defense of the Giants of this era, the 1992 team was a bump before they had their last hurrah in 1993. It was the 1994 season that this era truly came to an end. For Chicago though, this was the end. 1992 was Mike Ditka’s final season in Chicago, an unceremonious 5-11 campaign, and from his departure forward, the Bears were never the same.

Looked like a great matchup on paper when the schedule came out - and would have been any of the previous 7-8 seasons, but the teams combined to go 11-21 in 1992.

I want to say THANK YOU. I have major respect and kudos for the time you spent doing these. The dedication and effort you made in creating this channel, I have to give 100% KUDOS! These classic games are so awesome to see. I grew up a Packers fan. I lived my entire life in Milwaukee. So watching football especially back in the 70's, we didn't always get to see all the teams play, unless of course they played Green Bay or we on the National televised game of the week. Back the the 70's I loved football, ALL FOOTBALL! Yes I was a Packers fan first, but I also was a Chargers fan, and a Jets fan. For a brief time I also liked Fran Tarkenton who was, I hate to admit this, a Minnesota Vikings Quarterback. But I also cheered when Brett Favre went there too so? Whoops. My point is I love 🏈🏈🏆NFL🏉🏉Football🏆🏈🏈 as I said before all football. Many of these older games I was never able to see. The Raiders, Broncos, Browns(especially the Browns), Oilers, and Bills weren't shown consistently on TV here. So seeing them now is awesome! So again THANK YOU, you definitely deserve more subscribers! I'll be binge watching your channel that's for sure!

Phil Simms date of birth has been listed wrong on the internet. It's November 3rd 1955, not November 3rd 1954. That's important in that he was the 4th oldest player in the NFL, not 3rd like they said. Vince Evans the Los Angeles Raiders backup quarterback at the time, was the 3rd oldest. Evans was born June 14th 1955. That makes him older than Simms by 4 months and 20 days. The research team for ABC should do better!

I know the Giants ended up being bad that year 6 10 but they literally played the 2 best teams in the league Niners Cowboys. 90 percent of the teams in the league would be 0 2 too if they played those teams their first 2 games

Oh my god I forgot just how good the 49ers were in 1992!! That was one of their more dominant campaigns, but I feel like it gets forgotten about because since they were so good in that era, the teams that didn’t at least make it to the Super Bowl get vastly overshadowed by the ones that did! NY really got shafted with that start to their schedule in 1992… big time!
