New York Medieval Society: Professor Anthony Bale on Medieval Travel 

On September 26, 2024, Anthony Bale, Professor of Medieval and Renaissance English at the University of Cambridge, discussed his new book, A Travel Guide to the Middle Ages: The World through Medieval Eyes. In this New York Medieval Society-sponsored event at the Grolier Club, Professor Bale focused on a range of sources, including travel guides, globes, and lists in manuscripts, to illuminate the marvelous real and imagined journeys of medieval travelers, before turning to a conversation with NYMS President Gillian Adler and the audience.
