The Mets finally lose a series in a month where they went 16-8. What went wrong in the 3 game set vs the Astros? Evan dives into it all. Please like, rate, follow, favorite or subscribe to Rico Brogna here: link.chtbl.com...
Everything that the Met fan said was spot on. Yeah it was fun for the team to do the song together with Iglesias, but it’s a bad look when they haven’t won anything. You don’t see the Astros, Braves, Phillies, Dodgers doing stuff like this.
Pitching pitching pitching.... we need better pitching. There is not a single pitcher that comes to mind, starter or reliever (save Diaz), that I feel like .... wow, he will have this nailed down.
Yeah, the Astros did not want to lose that series after the Mets singing and dancing . A lot of winners on that Astors team. Did you see the way Altuve was staring down the Mets at second base when the mets go through their stupid celebrations every time they get a hit. Why give your opponent extra motivation? It was kinda bush league with the signing and dancing, that’s why they are the mets
Garrett and Diekman both stink, they should both be released, if you can't through strikes it means you are no confidence. I love the Mets, but my coach used to tell me something when I was on a roll pitching or hitting, "Act like you been their before". These all out celebrations of getting to .500 is a joke, you celebrate privately until you win it all. It goes back to the whole attitude with the Mets that alittle better than average is worth celebrating, do the Yankees do that, Doe the Dodgers? That's the point.
Garrett was throwing the ball in the dirt give me a couple of thousand I could do that you might as well put fifty cent on the mound with how wild Garrets pitches were
Hey, life long Astros fan here. With all things considered I thought this weekend's series was very good, and Sunday's game could have gone either way. And on Friday's celebration stuff, I agree with Evan, it wasn't a big deal. I completely understand why the Mets felt like celebrating after going over 500, they have been facing a lot of challenges with injuries, inconsistent pitching, etc, just like the Astros have this season, so I get it. Real fans stick with their team though the highs and the lows, and (again just like the Astros) this season has been a major grind, so there is no harm in celebrating a major milestone.
How long have you been watching the Astros? All these celebrations started after the Astros did it in 2017 and was being broadcast on the MLB Network of how Alex Bregman, Carlos Correa, George Springer, and the others would celebrate in the dugout after hitting it out of the park. The Astros started what these other teams are doing now, and yes, some of them are freaking ridiculous. So you might want to rethink this post of yours.
@@manuelmelendez3140 So the Astros jumped into a laundry cart? Slapped on a silly jacket or a shogun helmet? Waved Neptune’s trident 🔱? What exactly was the “clown show” the Astros initiated that inspired the NY Mets?
You can’t have starting pitchers constantly throwing 100 pitches and still be in the 4th inning. These pitchers go 3 and 2 on every batter and can’t out them away. A recipe for killing the bullpen.
I have no problem with fans partying and celebrating. Hell I’ve been a Saints fan since their first season, we party no matter what the team does. As an Astros fan, we will celebrate any win after the season start we’ve had. Mets lost because their struggling bp didn’t come through. We won because our struggling bp did come through.
First, the players have nothing to do with these activities. This is management and marketing. Second, is there anything wrong with the players supporting their teammate's burgeoning music career?
I'm an Astros fan so really, this doesn't affect me. I think your commenter's point wasn't that it motivated the Astros. I think he's saying that your team hasn't done anything historically that warrants that type of activity. I get why they did it. It was an attempt to self-motivate, but to the outside world, it's a clownish look. It had little to nothing to do with the Mets losing the series, but it's a sign of an club culture that probably will not correct its deficiencies.
Mets should have swept. Such a disappointment up by 5 lost it and then can’t outscore a team in a bullpen day. HOU pen has been one of the worst in the league also. Garbage.
We cooled off because Mendoza pitched that bum of a tomato can 🥫 in Tylor McGill on Saturday. There really is nothing more to it than this. Mendoza was the only one naive enough to think that McGill could give us the length we needed to protect our pen. It’s not like we didn’t have options beforehand in Scott,Butto, and even Severino himself. You could have started the bum after clinching on Sunday if he was so inclined. Again, this is squarely on Mendoza, and conversely NOT on the OMG song 🎵 release after the game of Friday. Let’s not be ridiculous please 🙏🏾.
METS STARTING PITCHING IS TERRIBLE THEY NEED ONE ACE PITCHER BUT THE FRONT OFFICE IS ALSO TERRIBLE, WHILE THEY PAY FOR OTHER TEAMS ACE THEY HAVE NONE OF THERE OWN.
This run was/is arguably the worst thing that could have happened to this team. Now that the team is in the mix because if the third wild card team Cohen wont trade the players that have value and make the team better for the future. Lets be realistic even if they make a wild card, this team is not good enought to beat the elite NL teams this years…I really wish they were but they are not
Can’t wait until deadline to get pen help, even if you have to give up prospects. Also, need a righty bat in outfield against lefties. Taylor has reverse splits and Stewart is useless right now. Having Gamel here makes no sense, imo.
OMG can't believe I waiting thorough raining daily just watch this team coffin up two winninalbe game at home otto need to go by by this mets team can not move runner over close out a series with a off win one playoff contender you will meet face to face a kick in the ball as long mets in extra Inn 29-9 are you kidding me a back breaker at home big know excuses 41 41 should be better especially better at home mets need new bullpen arm shuffle these guys mets need more starting pitching unlity man bounce back tomorrow LGM
Second game was thrown away by MENDOZA when he brought in DIECK- HEAD.Yesterday's game could have been won if MENDOZA had left SEVERINO to pitch one more inning because he had just thrown 70 pitches. Then the ASTROS made FIESTA with FESTA.
THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE. When Mets starting pitching can't go past 4 or 5 innings. It's unsustainable, yeah, you can have tiny winning streaks, but it's not sustainable.Your bullpen is gonna get worn out. This is the overall downhill of baseball. The days of Tom seaver, where guys would pitch shutouts every other day. That never happens Anymore. Who? The hell likes this baseball? When you have to depend on middle relievers instead of your starting pitchers This is the absolute downfall of baseball.
@@mets973 Let's look at what Hefner has to deal with, shall we? Luis Severino has an ERA more than THREE RUNS lower than he had last year with the Yankees. Sean Manaea has the lowest ERA he's ever had in any full season of his entire career. Edwin Diaz was the worst closer in baseball in 2019, including his 5.59 ERA. Hefner came aboard the following year, and turned Diaz around. The other pitchers on the Mets' staff? Is there even one that any other team in baseball would even have on their major league roster? Notice that after Jorge Lopez left, he has yet to spend one minute in the major leagues. Hefner has been doing a terrific job.
@@jimwerther what are you talking about? Jorge Lopez has pitched 2 games for the Cubs already. Overall, pitching has been mediocre. Yeah, maybe the GM is to blame for the most part so I agree with you. I hope he’s trying to work on the relievers control. They’re walking a ton of hitters
@@mets973 * I was unaware that the Cubs brought him up from Iowa. Must have _just_ happened. * I'm a big David Stearns fan. No, his job was _not_ to spend a ton and win in Year One. Instead, he is doing precisely what he is supposed to be doing. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither are baseball dynasties, whether you are talking the Astros, the late 1990s Yankees, or anyone else. Build it up properly; don't do what Stearns's various predecessors did and throw money at old pitchers. * If the only way to maximize these medicore pitchers is to have them nibble, so be it. Outside of Severino, none of them have the superior stuff needed to challenge major league hitters on a regular basis. Instead of focusing on pieces of their numbers, such as bases on balls, I look at the overall result. None of us wants to see David Peterson throwing meatballs which land up over the centerfield fence in order to avoid six walks a game. No thanks; I'll stick with the walks.
We all have to lighten up at little and let the players not just be picked apart all the time. It’s good mojo for everyone to be having a good time. We get killed for trying to be this serious organization and doing standard things all teams do
It’s great to have a guy in your company that you work with that plays music. That’s awesome. But. Was Bernie Williams playing his guitar national anthems while he was playing? No.
