Award-winning podcasters and New York Times cultural critics Wesley Morris and J. Wortham don't hold back on their thoughts on this weekend's Oscars and Beyoncé's chart-topping entrance into country music. #CNN #News
They hate it because it was successful, and didnt push a narrative. Its ok to just watch a story sometime. Charles Barkley is not an interesting/ entertaining person.
@@hus390 Avatar: The Way of Water; Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Endgame, Killers of the Flower Moon. Those are some of the literal 3 hour movies I would not go to the theater to see. My personal limit is 90 minutes in one sitting so any movie over 2 hours I pretty wait to watch at home.
"Country" music has been blending with rock since rockabilly successfully blended boogie woogie & western in the 40s. Modern country has been cowboy pop since Garth Brooks in the 90s. It's the racism.
Yeah, what was also great about the Movie was that the movie didn't hold back on how the Democrats and Communists were intertwined during that time period. And now you can see the result.
that's a terrible critic lol. "who did you care about?" - Everyone. Florence Pugh made you piety a young troubled women. Matt Damon made you feel the weight of someone who felt like the burden of hundreds of thousands of lives was on his shoulders. every scientist played their roles brilliantly. Emily Blunt played a partner to someone she knew was too complicated to fully understand and she hated and loved him for that. Cillian Murphy played a man who knew that the history was now on his shoulders, and for a brief moment he enjoyed it, then he feared it, then he was burdened by it, then it was just his reality. Murphy carried you through that. to say you dont care about the story or the characters shows the absence of a basic understanding of the story or it significance. Its like saying I watched First Man and I was upset that they made Neil Armstrong so "sad".
Only person that mattered in Oppenheimer was Albert Einstein that movie could of been 20 minutes .. Albert at the beginning… still images of all the bad things .. then Albert saying “I told you so.. “
Chernobyl on Max did a much better job of showing the horror of nuclear weapons. Oppenheimer just felt too Hollywood, like wow look at all the actors we got! We get it, but it was largely pointless and didn’t get to the point.
I agree w/ Oppenheimer. Nothing happened in that movie. It was a documentary with acting. Like a docudrama. I didn't feel anything for any characters. ALL WHT people talking.
It felt to me like Nolan fell in love with the actor's performances, esp Robert Downey Jr, and then lost focus trying to keep it all in instead of tightly editing the story. For me Oppenheimer drifted unnecessarily and didn't seem to be able to decide what story it was telling...all with great acting.
Interesting topics, but it would be much better, if the critics would be there alone talking. especially the male host get really on my nerves with his interruptions.
@@rockhero2274 there are much better film versions of Oppenheimer out there and sone brilliant documentaries which really capture the brilliance. But I thought the latest Wonka film was fantastic.
I was skeptical when audry mentioned fiesta at the airport. Disillusioned clueless don't know what to think of it. Yet you sat me in prison. Who would have thought. You definitely needed more proof. Don't come back if you have only a partial answer.
Beyonce is from Houston, Texas. Kenny Rogers is from Houston, Texas. What is the Kenny Nashville connection vs the Beyonce Nashville connection? She is a AS COUNTRY as Waylon, Willie & the Boys!
Oppenheimer was long and boring; the premise of the film was man who didn't want to create more destructive weapons for the US Government being blocked from creating more destructive weapons for the US Government by another man holding a childish grudge. I don't care.
The same with the kids. You never showed them love. Most are just for food and doing their job. What you forced upon them. Good luck getting them on your side.
You now put yourselves in their shoes. No food in pain left alone to fend for themselves. Same shit food over and over again. Year after year after year. Most with no food at all.
I liked Oppenheimer... but I'd give it a 6 ( like an IMDB rating). It was interviews. I knew the story so after 1/2 way through ... turned it off. I actually thought R. Feynman's version was more interesting. (see: "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman")
@@Namaka420 not true for you, good for you that you were invested, I believe you, I wasn’t invested or involved at all. and I see Oppenheimer one of the most overrated films of all times.
