Thanks for the post! She is so cool with a lovely voice! She was great at msg sept 12 2022 opening for roxy music! I am still smiling from that concert and Bryan Ferry!
This recording will be known as a relatively obscure performance, but I think St. Vincent's Love Rocks 2023 outfit is her best yet, surpassing even her Digital Witness wardrobe from 2014-'15. Let me know if you agree or not!
have to say. not easy to cover great artists- this lady here - Annie Clark- is an old school performer- the works she does a show and she has fun goofs around

The great thing about being a performer is anyone can do it. If you have the desire and the drive you can get up onstage and entertain the people. Clearly, this woman enjoys performing. You can have an unremarkable voice and still find some folks that are entertained by what you do up there. Think of all the talented singers out there who never had the desire to entertain.
Vapid. I saw an article on Andy today in the Gurardian (quote below). Lou Reed, Bowie and this passes for what? Andy could pull it off, partly because he didn't seem to try. She tries and is boring. Her 15 minutes are up. "Warhol, the original narcissist; Warhol, the genius; Warhol, the void."
Her recent covers have just been like...karaoke...no reinvention or anything...this was a lot better than her Glory Box cover though...she's seemed to have hit a slump
