I didn't watch a Gents Scents video for a while (escaped my sub algorithm for like 6 months) and I come back to this intro and new backdrop ahahah :') so glad it got recommended to me again
I got this today for my boyfriend- I tried a bunch of things in store based on your recommendations and only this and Tom ford noir extreme really stood out to me. I went for this but I think I’ll get the TF for him for Christmas.
Just got this for the collection. Super fresh, I really like it. It’s familiar but kind of it’s own thing. Kind of exactly what I was looking for with the weather warming up. Nothing bad to say about this one.
I tried this today. I like this more than I thought I would. Extremely pleasant and versatile. I definitely won't pay retail for it, but if it hits discounters for ~100 or so for a large bottle, I'll probably scoop it up.
I went to my local Macy’s to try it, walked the mall with it on a carded sample and kept coming back to it. It literally made me have to go back and buy it. Yes, it’s similar to a lot. But, it’s very nice and going to be an amazing work fragrance for all year round.
Mines came in the mail today!!! Smell is off the chain. Had to get it. Smelled it at Macy’s and asked sales person to spray on my arm to see how it went with my body chemistry. Later that evening, I had to order it 💪🏾
My collection is almost entirely made up of unique, not necessarily super versatile fragrances, so, ironically, this would be unique in the context of my own collection! It’s got a great clean laundry vibe and just so easy to wear, I love it.
This is me with Giorgio Armani Code Parfum. I unfortunately will end up purchasing it. I didn’t live the original code days of wearing it. Code Parfum is not unique, but I just have a guilty pleasure every time I spray it at Sephora.
This seems like what Sauvage was when was first released. A fragrance that is a classic nowadays but when it came out people said it was like many others out there and it was generic. But it became an instant classic and a top seller. This can go in that direction. I'm really interested to try it.
I actually really enjoy this scent, although I swear don’t go to Sephora either the employees don’t store the bottles properly or customers are doing sketchy stuff. I tried it at a sephora 6 months ago upon release and it smelled extremely redundant and I wasn’t impressed. Fast forward to when I got a free sample from YSL to promote it some more, I smelt it again and woah it’s way smoother than before and you really get that orange blossom. It’s a very nice warm woody floral you can wear all year round.
@@adhx7506I'm a guy, and personally I've come to find out that i don't really like what the general pablic likes. I don't really like any of the Prada luna rossa ones. I don't like Margiela Replicas. I don't like versace eros or dylan blue. It's been quite hard for me to find something that i like. Recently i got to smell quite a few ysl frags, and i don't like y edp, it seems really strong and kind of cutting into my nose, i like le parfum better. I also really like MYSLF. I tried the la nuit.....i thought it was absolute garbage, i don't get why people like it. I also liked the strong with you original, all other versions seemed too strong in their own ways.
I bought this and I really like it, when I first sprayed it it took me back to the early days when Armani Code first came out. Also my wife likes it. I have a large collection and I don’t necessarily go to unique but I go for how it works on my skin. My wife likes fresh/sweet fragrances on me so this was a home run for me!
Ok, I went to test it out at Ulta yesterday. Didn't expect to like it because I didn't like any in the YSL Y line. But to my surprise, I love this one. Will probably get a bottle for myslf soon. No Pun intended.
i just tried YSL Myself today, and i thought that it was way too feminine. both my gf and my mom agreed that it smelled like something that they themselves would wear
I'm glad your wife felt that way about this fragrance because I just bought this today on a whim after walking into a fragrance shops asking to try a few aftershaves then asking the assistant what was one of the most popular scents and she told me they'd been selling a lot of Ysl.
Gotta say I've been wanting to try this for sure. But glad you were able to share it and love the new office. Will be honest first vid I've watched here in a lil bit and always love the reviews. Thank you.
This will probably sell really well for many years to come because the gucci guilty line has and that's pretty much the same in description and the majority buying isn't the fragrance community it's people who empty a bottle they get for Christmas and look for a new bottle of something mass appealing and easy to wear
I got this today and I love it for a fresh office/versatile fragrance. Generic? Yes. Inoffensive? Also yes. I have PdM Carlisle as a unique and strong fragrance, so this made sense for me.
I already mentioned it but I love your small intros! Sad that this one isnt more unique but I will definitely test it since YSL killed it with their releases over the last years!
This fragrance somehow brings to mind a blend of Hugo Boss Man and YSL Libre (for women). It's a pleasant scent that lasts moderately on clothes (around 4 hours) and longer on skin (around 8 hours). The projection is noticeable for the first hour, extending about 2-3 inches from the skin, and later becoming a skin scent. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. It exudes a quality composed of fine ingredients, offering a smooth and appealing aroma. Those around me, especially ladies, seem to appreciate it. Given today's standards and considering its YSL origin, which often comes with a higher price tag, it doesn't strike me as expensive.
I bought Myself recently and I realized it smells extremely similar to what my wife wears: Chanel Mademoiselle. It’s literally the male version of Mademoiselle. So my wife and I smell nearly identical! Not that that’s a bad thing
@@thecatswillplay86Givenchy Gentleman EDP, D&G Intenso, Ferragamo Uomo signature, Versace Oud Noir, YSL Y EDP, D&G The one EDP are some in my current rotation
love this one, “generic” dna for sure but again through its similarities with the frags you listed, its still its own fragrance and i cant say it definitively smells like anything out right now
hey ashe, enjoying the new content and filming set-up, i'm not sure if you have it but was curious how YSL myself might stack against YSL tuxedo (maybe one for the heat and one for the cold?)
I went into town with my wife to check out the Aqua Di Gio parfum aftershave for my birthday. Seen 'Myself' and gave it a spray. My wife was instantly like, I will just buy you this now (ordered online as soon as we got home as it was £20 cheaper) She loves it and sprays it on herself as well. I was saying to her that it smells like an aftershave from back in the day and after much thought, I think it smells like YSL Jazz. It has the same black and white colouring on the box. I of course could be talking absolute pish but I'm sure it's that one it reminds me of.
I started my fragrance collection . This past year. I have Valentino born in Roma intense , Aventus absolou , jpg elixir , Gucci guilty elixir, ysl myself , and jpg ultra male.
Got a sample in the mail yesterday, I like it but it reminds me a lot of Azzaro the most wanted parfum, only not as zingy and strong. For me it's a bit redundant
Just bought this. Tried a bunch of other things at the store and this one hit the clean, fresh, slightly sweet, non animalic office fragrance better than the others. If you are looking for a daily office scent give this a try!
Just bought this lastnight and it's amazing! It's not by any means a copy of anything. I love this channel but this review almost made me not buy it because of the convincing you do to say it smells like this or that that exists already. This is by far an amazing cologne.
I have Ralph’s club and recently pick up a tester of this. I prefer this. Myself is fresher not at sweet/deep. I see it as easier to wear less offensive more bubbly. I will probably be replacing Ralph’s club
Just smelled this on Saturday and while it may be "generic" I actually really like it. Exactly the type of fragrance I'd look for in a dumb reach everyday fragrance. If I can find it in stock at a discounter I'm definitely going to pick it up
I'm in my '50s when I first smelled it it smelled really nice but it reminded me of something when I was younger it took me about 10 minutes to where I believe I figured it out it's a more luxury or scent of a cheaper fragrance called Aspen
When does this guy stop talking?? I bought this new YSL, MYSLF because it is Sooo Magnificent!! It smells clean, woodsy, fresh, with orange blossoms also but as the day, or night goes on, the different scents come out, they don't merge together. As you smell it as you wear it, it definitely changes to allow you to smell all the differences. I absolutely love this and am very pleased with it 💖✨
I tried this today and I liked it on paper so I bought it. Before I could open it upon dry down I got CH bad boy vibes. I already have all of the bad boy line so I returned it. It does smell great though
I think it's pretty unisex and even leans towards being on the feminine side from my experience.. it kind of reminded me of Tom Ford Black Orchid a little bit.. I really liked the dry down though..
Just got it and am on the fence about it. Does it smell bad? No. But i've smelled every cologne that it's being compared it doesn't match to my nose. To my sniff it has a very strong opening to Pacco Rabonne Invictus. But better. The only thing is that bubbldgum sweet scent to me is very off-putting. Its like you took the opening of invictus and a bottle of "generic "cheap orange smell" and vlended them together. Im hoping the invictus smell evens out over night cause if not its just not for me and ill be returning it
Just smelled this fragrance today. It is just another blue type fragrance that you can wear any time. It is not as strong as the y line, it is clean and soapy. Very easy going fragrance and a safe blind buy, definitely nothing special that stands out.
YSL Y and myself, I wouldn't describe as a typical blue fragrance. After letting YSL y set it has an interesting characteristic I can't describe. If you know what YSL y smells like, myself to me is slightly spicier
To be real, it reminds me of azzaro the most wanted parfum. Im a fan of azzaro, especially the edp one. But i like it, although it does smell like a combination of other fragrances
Yes! Thank you! Couldn't figure out what it reminded me of until seeing your comment. It's the "grape soda" vibe I get from both, but YSL is more citrusy and less vanillic.
@@SuperKaner1 exactly, u made me see the difference in both smells i couldnt figure out. Ysl smells fruitier and can be used in the summer while azzaro has that warmer vanilla, caramel smell and can be used for the winter. The only difference i see between the two. Other than that, they smell alike
I got the 60 ml yesterday with a coupon for 50,00€ at Flaconi. I wasn't particularly enthusiastic at first, but meanwhile I love this fragrance and had to order a bottle after the testers from YSL. For me, it's a mix of Y EDP, D&G pour Homme and Creed Himalaya.
Smelt very much like Paco Rabanne Invictus to me at first, had that sweet kinda bubble gum at first but once the dry down hit it had a totally different vibe that felt more unique. Still very much a pleasant smell :)
So I brought this around about the time of its release in the Uk . I actually brought another fragrance and this was given as a little tester bottle in the bag , I sprayed it , like it , went back and brought it before I went back to the car . I’ve only worn it a handful of times but really enjoyed it when I have … here’s the strange thing … I’m not a fan of YSL Y , in fact it’s one of the only fragrances that almost makes me feel a bit 🤢 I’ve worn YSL MYSELF today and all of a sudden I’ve got a wiff of Y !! And once I smelt it it’s now all I can smell 😞 I’ve gone from really enjoying “MYSELF” to hating “MYSELF” in a wiff !!
I blind bought a small bottle. Once I smelled it, i thought i was smelling Prada Luna Rossa Ocean. Im actually wearing both on opposite arms. I can barely notice a difference. The YSL is a tab bit sweeter like Born in Roma.
I bought this one a few weeks ago and I find myself reaching for it almost every day lately. I love how it smells like sun tan lotion at the beach in the drydown.
I preorded it and luckily the Dillard's lady gave me a sample vial also at pick up. Wore sample for 2 days and returned the retail bottle. I get a mix of Y and La Nuit nothing special.
All the reviews and descriptions regarding this, as also yours, sound like MYSLF is just a solid base with addictive aroma chemicals, like, Fierce or Molecule01 or so. (ISO-E Super, Ambroxan, or something new?) Would you see some resemblence with YSL Libre? Because, the packaging is reminiscent, and people on the interweb say the feel like it has some overlap with this. Also Libre is super addictive, somehow, isn't it? br! :)
Thats exactly what it is, the male counterpart to Libre. Keep in mind this is aimed at the 18-25 age range just getting into fragrances and wants something that can do everything.
