You somehow manage to make every single look you do work... how do you *do* that? (I really love the red lip on you btw!) I keep telling myself everything looks so much lovelier in the WARM California sunshine than in the FREEZING Scottish drizzle but I suspect thats just my feeble excuse. The only YSL quad I have is Stora Dolls (because yes, I am a sheep) and I felt the new ones were too similar to the last release, but now I think they may be sort of tonally different? I consider myself duly influenced anyway, because Im now considering another YSL quad whereas Id written them off before. YSL should be sending you PR and my bank manager should be sending you restraining orders. Oh and happy birthday, America!!!
When I visit Scotland with my husband I need to do a swatch and actually say that we’re gonna take it outside to the freezing Scottish drizzle. That would be hilarious
I've been using YSL since I was 15. Yup....15! I've always loved their makeup because of the high-quality. Some of my favourite vintage items were the quad blushes that blended into one color, the loose powder that you had to turn to grind was one of my favourite setting powders EVER!!! Not to mention, their lipsticks, lip glosses, mascara. I love their new YSL love shine lip in 202.....AND their All Hours Foundation is one I cannot live without! That said, because I use other eyeshadows that aren't as couture catered as these, I'm not sure I'm a huge fan- only because you can get colours like these in other sets. But I love your overall look including the silver. And I will always have a special place in my heart for YSL ❤🎨
I get exactly what you mean. You know the product. You know the price range. You are familiar with the brand. Makes perfect sense that, when you voice in opinion, it is a very educated one. Total respect for that.
Happy Happy Fourth of July!!! I LOVE these shadows. I only have a couple of the YSL quads but they are really great!!! I’m definitely interested in the over orange for that sunset eye look. The looks you created were very flattering especially the over orange, which I thought looked warm, inviting, but with a punch of quiet sophistication. I know these are quite costly but they are top notch! Unfortunately, these newer shades aren’t available at Nordstroms or Sephora. I’ll check your link to see where to purchase.

I love the Smokey silver look on you. I don’t think you’re really afraid of the orange. It’s very pretty but not as much as the grey. I think you just know what suits you best .
I got 800 and 810. I love them both! While I love the sparkle toppers, what’s truly unique to me is the fluffy mattes that blend to perfection. They are a dream and I have no formula quite like them! I was afraid the 800 mattes would be too much like ND Golden, but they aren’t! I think they are much more neutral. (The ND are much more golden, OF COURSE THEY ARE! 🤦🏻♀️😂) I knew anything with orange/coral would be for me, so 810 was a no brainer! Now you’ve made me wish I had picked up 700 as well! It looks sensational on you!!

Did you see the new pastel??!!! I gasped! You know I don’t care for pastels on me. But these looked special. A muted pastel? I know they defies logic. Lol. But I am excited to see it in action. I just LOVE this formula! I use mine ALOT. I want another one. Just deciding on color.
Happy 4th! As usual beautiful looks. Yes! I loved Halston and Diane von Furstenburg! Many years ago I found a Diane von Furstenburg swim suit on sale at Neiman’s in Miami! Her wrap dresses….. they looked great on everyone. I remember reading that when DVF brought her dress to Diana Vreeland to get her opinion, Vreeland told her it would go nowhere! Beautiful 😍 looks I just saw that YSL is coming out with another eyeshadow quad the cover is like something you just want it!😮😮 it's a ombre mini clutch with pink ,blue and purple color I think😊 no blue eyeshadow inside it all looks very tempting 😂😮
One more question, I haven't tried this shadow formula. What is the shimmer shade comparable to? I like them to be very sparkly, some of the ND ones don't quite cut it for me. What would you compare this one to?
The shimmer shades can be an ethereal topper with a translucence or they can be a really kind of heavy but smooth glitter. And I am sitting here trying to think who is similar. It’s definitely not Natasha. Let me think on this one.
Still adore my #400 Babylone Roses quad!! Worth every penny!! I have #100 Stora Dolls too but nothing "gets me" like the #400 💖 I get compliments every time I wear it 🥰
I'm the WORST one to ask, honestly, with a British husband who turns up his nose. haha. But it's most BBQ burgers and such and fireworks, which are now all drones, I hear. Interesting. The kids will be doing their own thing on the beach with friends so it'll be quiet but that's fine.

Rebecca, I'm still here! Love the shades from both Quads. Actually, I'd be happy with wearing every single one released, alas, I have my one L/E Blue/Green Quad. The reason I can't go delving into these, apart from having too much eye-shadow, is that I own all of the big daddy Couture Clutch Palettes except for two from the start. I know the formula is different, yet they still perform beautifully and I'm content. So glad to see grey and silver making a long lost return from oblivion, and about time! Kudos to you for going into the black, silver and even trying the orange. I know I joke about living dangerously and testing comfort zones, yet it takes time and baby steps to build up one's confidence when not used to going straight into brighter shades. You only have to see that my only YSL Quad is the brightest, yet I'm more than happy to wear any of the more subtle shades. I've even got the four Burberry Quads and you don't get much more subtle than those. You chose two very nice Quads that suit you very well, even with the brighter lip shade.🇦🇺💖👩🏼🎨
@@NotFitforPrintBeauty You're too kind! Actually, it was more muted and subtle shades that I started off using and still do. It's only because I'm not afraid of colour and trying new things that I tend to use pretty much everything. I just like to encourage those who are afraid of colour that it's not a big deal and to tread slowly and softly. At a certain age, one can't go around looking like mutton dressed as lamb, therefore I keep things wearable, yet with a twist. This is why I love Byredo's Mineralscape so much due to the muted shades that are wearable as one and dones, despite the shade. I really only use about three shades with each look, so I'm not as frightening as what it may sound to be!💖
Thank you for the informative video.....I didn't even know YSL created these new quads. I will pass on them since I just think they are over priced....they are beautiful....but very over priced. You can find these same colors in good quality eyeshadow palettes with 24 or more shadows and pay just about the same or less. I just cannot justify paying $68 for 4 shadows especially in the current economy that we are in.
