The hostess ones are covered with coconut shreds. That’s why they’re called snowballs because they look like little snowballs.

I grew up on Hostess Snowballs; 55 years later, I'm still eating them.

They don’t look like Snowballs I know 🤭 They were a favorite of my dads in the 1960s. They were pink, completely covered in coconut and were much softer than todays fare.

The hostess ones are the best. They taste best (to me at least) if they are refrigerated first before eating

Mrs. Freshley's is an American company. Mrs. Freshley's and Tastycakes are Flower's Family. Jet Puffed by Kraft has not only Marshmallows, but Fluff and Toasted Coconut Marshmallows. Of course, you could easily toast shredded coconut in a broiler or oven and while still warm toss with marshmallows if you can't find these.

Have you tried the Southern breakfast of champions? An RC Cola and a Chocolate Moon pie? A full Southern breakfast is 2 eggs fried, seasoned potatoes and onions fried in lard, grits with red eye gravy and butter, 2 strips of bacon and a slice of country ham, with a side of biscuits smothered in sausage gravy. No one said heart healthy, but it will definitely start your day off right with coffee or sweet tea, orange juice, and a huge glass of milk.

Love Hostess Snowballs. The Ding Dongs & Cupcakes are similar cakes w/o the coconut, but w/ chocolate frosting instead. Love all 3.

When i was a kid back in medieval times, we had pink & white Snoballs... We'd peel the marshmallow off and eat the cake and marshmallow separately. The cake was,/is identical to the Hostess cupcake...only the covering was different.

Mrs. Freshley's does knockoffs of products from other companies like Hostess and Littler Debbie.

So glad you like some of our worst snakes. LOL!! I had Snowballs once & that was plenty. Some people love themI think more childhood memories more than anything.

Snowballs remind me of my grandfather who would always get them for me when we went on road trips. Still to this day get teary eyed anytime I do buy them reminds me of him. They're really good but I can't eat them as much as I used to because all that sugar.

Try a taste comparison with the original Sno Balls by Hostess. The cake is a Hostess creme filled cupcake upside down with a marshmallow layer and pink coconut, similar to Mrs. Freshley's. They sell them in a box of six packs of 2. Halloween is coming so they should be offered in Orange as well soon. No flavoring difference that I know of, but chocolate and orange is a tasty combo.

My Hostess Snoball story: one winter during college, a friend of mine placed some Hostess Snoballs on top of a couple of pillars with spherical tops. We thought it was funny at the time. After he graduated (a year before me), he would mail me a pack of Snoballs for Christmas or my birthday. After five years of accumulating them, I mailed them back to him en masse. Some looked unaffected by the passage of time, some puffed up the packaging with gas, and some imploded. Contrary to popular belief, their shelf life is not infinite. As I do not like coconut, Hostess Snoballs were not a snack item I enjoyed.

Mrs. freshley's is a discount brand. They are newer than hostess, and hostess is still a brand.

Sarah got three different kinds of sugar in it. Sugar, high fructose, corn syrup, and corn syrup. They’re all three sugars.

these are knock-off brand. the hostess are the real ones and come in pink as well. don't let these turn you off in case you get some hostess ones. name brands are almost always better than other brands.

I’m not familiar with those snowballs at all, they are made by hostess. I’ve never heard of that brand before and they don’t look familiar.

Hostess is the original, but they have been on the market so long that the term has become synonymous with any product made in this manner. A marshmallow coating with coconut topping surrounding a chocolate cake with cream filling. The ones you are trying are a knock-off version. It has been my experience that the generic ones are not quite as good since they use cheaper ingredients and the cake is usually much dryer than Hostess

As an American. I'm shooketh too. I never knew that's what a snowball was either lol. Thought it was like some sweet white bread with coconut shredded and pink dye lol. Never knew it had a grill mark at bottom and that it was chocolate

Mrs. Freshley's is the off brand cheap version. The taste isn't as good as the original Hostess sno ball.

I won't eat those and I'm from the USA. No thank you, They used to be made by Hostess but Hostess sold off the brand. Long before you were born. I named my cat Fluffer Nutter.

Dear, I do not know anyone who eats snowballs, maybe a kid. But those are an off brand. A Snowball should not be flat! If you are going to try a snowball, at least get a Hostess brand.
