Wonderful what lovely creatures. I would not want to be Mrs Kiwi though as the egg is so huge it takes up half her internal organs. And how you lay that the mind boggles. Small weep and she leaves Dad to incubate.

I love this dumpy bird. Shame they got pretty screwed by not being able to fly, defend themselves, and plus their egg is HUGE for their poor tiny body. :(
